When the girl rang up my bill she just kept scanning in bar codes upping the bill $265 more over what I expected to pay. Couldn't believe it. I ended up paying $565 for a pair of glasses that literally fell apart after 2 years. I've had less expensive glasses that lasted many years. This price included my insurance too. I will not be going back and not recommend buying glasses there. The contact prices were very reasonable though. They won't give me more contacts because of my age and cataracts. Why can't they just give me cataract surgery and then contacts again?

I have now had the first eye done and I must say that Dr. Neahring and all of his staff at the Curry County Hospital were extremely professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. My surgery went well and Dr Nearing what's exceptional at explaining everything to me as he progress through the procedure. Now, I am absolutely amazed at the sight I have in this eye!! The clear crisp vision is awesome! The colors that I see are so beautiful and vibrant, especially compared with what I experienced while I had the cataract. I am excited to wake in the mornings to experience this beautiful vision that now allows me to experience all the beauty that coastal Oregon has to offer!! I get my second eye done in four weeks!! We have spent well over a thousand dollars between both places with no resolution with the swollen retina, except that he will need cataract surgery (no referral for that, though). As my husband is British and waiting for his green card, he has no insurance, so this is all out of pocket. We are retired and this is quite a hardship. The people at the desk were quite brusque and when I inquired about an appointment for myself, they acted like I was looking for a handout (I have insurance). I will never set foot in there again. Ended up going to America's Best in Tigard for my eye exam, which only came to $65 instead of $160 at Lincoln City, plus I was treated courteously, got an appointment quickly and now have my new glasses without getting ripped off.

I had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience at this eye doctor's office. The office staff seemed disorganized and uninterested in providing quality service. During my first visit, after the exam, I was directed to a staff member to discuss frames and lenses. In the middle of our conversation, he abruptly abandoned me to assist an attractive young woman who had just walked in. He greeted her with delight and left me sitting there alone, completely dumbfounded. After several minutes of waiting, I decided to leave. I told him goodbye and he said thanks for coming in. He provided no explanation as to why he left me sitting there. I didn't return until over a year later. When I finally returned for another eye exam, I was determined to get new glasses. The exam went fine, but later after the exam the doctor rudely interrupted my discussion with the glasses specialist, abruptly and loudly stating, "Brian! She needs to go to lunch!" I didn't know it was her lunch time. How would I know that? I felt rushed and embarrassed, but I went ahead and picked a pair of frames I wasn't entirely sure about. Weeks passed, and no one contacted me to let me know my glasses and contact lenses had arrived. When I finally called, they told me they were there, which I found odd since no one had called to let me know. When I went to pick up the contact lenses, I had to practically beg for instructions on how to care for them, which felt very strange. Upon trying them, I found that one lens was clear at a distance, but the other was blurry at a distance, and both were unusable for mid-range and close-up vision. When I reported this, they vaguely mentioned trying progressive lenses but did not provide a clear explanation as to why they hadn't considered this in the first place. Instead of ordering progressives, they simply reordered another pair of the same lenses, which made no sense. I also wanted prescription sunglasses and had an excellent pair of frames that a friend gave me, but the office seemed confused and unwilling to use them. That issue was never resolved. Then, in the midst of all this, my best friend passed away suddenly. I was devastated and put my glasses situation on hold as I grieved. A few months later, my father also passed away. I was overwhelmed with loss and grief, and during this entire time, not once did anyone from the office check in with me or follow up about my glasses or contact lenses. After grieving for a couple months I decided I needed to finally resolve the issue. When I returned to the office and discussed the delays, the glasses specialist blamed it on staffing issues but showed no empathy when I mentioned my father's passing. As I was trying to have an open conversation about the difficulties I had been facing with the office, she abruptly went to the back and printed a refund check for the returned glasses. I was shocked. I told her I didn't want a refund, I wanted glasses and contact lenses. I handed the check back, found a pair of frames I really liked, and ordered progressive contact lenses. I left feeling like, finally, things were moving forward. This was February 10th. I was told the new contacts would take about ten days to arrive. I waited. But, instead of getting a call that my contacts were ready, I checked my mail about two weeks later and was shocked to find a letter from the doctor, informing me that she was discharging me as a patient. After two years of back and forth, after all the difficulties and delays on their part, after the time and effort I put in to finally find the right glasses, I was being abruptly dropped as a patient, while I was still grieving the loss of my best friend and my father. Now, I have to start completely over with a new eye doctor. This cold, uncaring treatment was disturbing, and I would not recommend this office to anyone seeking compassionate care or professionalism.
