Been passing by this place for some time. Finally stopped in today to look for some items for my wife. No issues with what they offer, the issue is that there is quite a bit of merchandise that is not priced. Case in point....the big metal art our front with the big horses and riders are $3200. When I found a metal hire I liked for my wife, which was about a quarter of the size as those big ones, I was told it was $2000. When I argued my point to the lady behind the register, her reaction was kind of a 'is what it is'. After I loaded the materials I did purchase into my truck, I went back in and questioned them again. This time a young girl told me the horse in question was in fact, $800. I wonder how many they sell to those tourists who don't ask? That right there, if it does happen, is not right!! BTW, there is a shop in Gila Bend that will offer much better pricing, make deals on multiple items purchased and is much nicer to his potential customers. read more

I. Love. Retablo. If I lived in Arizona, I would be destitute because I would spend every penny I had there. They have some of the most gorgeous art, furniture, and ceramics I've encountered! If you like a southwest/latin vibes for decor or furnishings, this is the place for you. I practically drooled over the lifesize sculptures, the beautiful desks and tables, the leather inlaid headboards, the cowhide stools, the Mexican glazed tiles....I could go on for days. While we were staying in Cave Creek, we visited Retablo several times. My only complaint? No website and ability to order online!!! Although maybe it's a good thing since I'd be bankrupt if they did. read more

Super fun place!! Even if you don't want to buy something you have to check it out. The gigantic metal bison and horses are amazing to see. Loved the rock turtles but could not take them on the plane too heavy. Amazing variety of glassware and plant pottery. Super cheap too so probably bring in truck loads of this stuff from Mexico. read more

Always a fun shopping experience. We've made multiple furniture purchases here and the products are both unique and of good quality. Prices are reasonable and firm unless there is a published markdown. At least that makes for a more consistent experience. Some staff are much more knowledgeable than others, so if you have questions be sure to ask for those that have experience and knowledge about what you are there to purchase, especially when purchasing furniture. We go here often and always find great things in inventory as it is very large. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at Retablo. A gentleman behind the register told me two days ago that they offer a 10% military discount on their large iron buffaloes. I came back ready to buy, only to be told by Anna and another lady at the counter that they "never" offer any military discount. When I described the man who had told me otherwise (who was literally behind the cash register), they acted like they had no idea who I was talking about. This was not only a complete waste of my time but also extremely unprofessional. Either the staff here is dishonest, or they're completely unorganized and unwilling to stand behind what they say. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who expects honesty or respect. read more

Retablo is endless and reminds me somewhat of Jackalope in Santa Fe. Retablo contains endless inside and outside selections of furniture, large sculptures, ceramic and other garden decorations, metal cacti, and a plethora of other tchotchkes too numerous to mention. I don't think you can get lost here, but you will lose track of anyone you came in with. Lucky for me, most of what I liked was too big to fit in a suitcase. Gayle's sister did find the perfect large ceramic frog which now has a place of honor in their Buckeye (Victory at Verado) home. Her husband was back in the car the whole time, as shopping for "stuff" wasn't his thing that day. Horrible store. We have purchased thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. However, they only allow a 2 WEEK RETURN. When I purchased a table and other items I also purchased a bent cross. I took it home to our place in Patagonia AZ and my wife didn't like it. It is a long way to drive so I called and told them that I wanted to return it but it would be three weeks because of the distance. They said no problem. Well, I just drove all this way FROM PATAGONIA and the woman at the counter said no way they would return it. I told her that the lady on the phone a month ago said no problem. To the old woman at the counter she said that she didn't care if I drove so far. So now I am driving all the way back to PATAGONIA. This is the single worst customer service I have ever experienced and I am 64 years old. Never again will we buy a damn thing from any of their stores. Horrible people. read more

I love this store! I only visit a couple times a year as it is about an hour drive from where I live but I love to make a day trip out of it when relatives visit. I have taken several visitors there and everyone is in awe at how beautiful the store is and how many beautiful items they have to offer. I usually joke that we should probably rent a UHaul truck before we go. And, while we do not rent a UHaul, we DO make sure we take someone's truck. This store never disappoints. In June 2023 we purchased an expensive, handcrafted office desk chair with hand-tooled leather seat cushion and seat back. Problems occurred immediately. First, the chair seat was not properly fastened to the frame and the bolts fell out from the frame. Retablo fixed that problem. However, after a couple of months of use the seat cushion started to flatten--it's like sitting in an inner tube. In addition, the chair started tilting to one side. This is not what one expects from a chair in the $1000+ range. We called Retablo and explained the problems. We were told that a new chair would be ordered, and it would take twelve weeks to manufacture. This is unacceptable and our money should be refunded. read more

We usually are very happy with our purchases here. Especially the outdoor planters and decor. But last summer, we bought 6 beautiful, heavy planters for the out door area. They have metal straps and metal rings. After less than a year, they are literally decaying and peeling! If you even scrape the side gently, it turns to powder. We paid good money for these and all of them are either chipping or chipping and decaying. We will never buy planters from them again. If they would like to make this right for us, please send me a message. They are too heavy and now very messy, to return to the store directly. read more

As you've read countless times, Retablo is the real deal. The genuine custom furniture and pottery aren't cheap ripoffs. Andreas and Fernando were extremely accommodating. Ordered custom mesquite/turquoise 7' table and bench, after purchasing 2 large hummingbird pots a week before. Because the order from Mexico to arrival time was about 4 months, they didn't charge for home delivery of the heavy furniture already costing $5,500. In fact, due to my mistake, the exceptional delivery guys had to take the table back & forth twice from the store's 2 mile distance without a hitch. Great new location as well. Only problem was this nasty woman who needlessly argued with my wife about our order delivery. Otherwise top notch place. read more

Great place to fine gifts for yourself or anyone. They have pottery of all types. There are flower pots galore, wall hangings, nick nacks and so much more from Mexico. There was so much Hollowee decore and they do change with the seasons. Every time you go there you will find something different and new. There is a building you can shop in or just walk around outside, there is so much to see. Whenever we have guests, this is one place we make sure to stop at. I love,love,love this place. read more

My wife ordered a custom chandelier for our new home that is nearing the end of construction. All pieces have been delivered except the downrod needed to hang the piece from the vaulted ceiling. Over the past several weeks we've been told varied stories ranging from "the truck has been delayed at the border due to Covid" to "the truck just crossed the border" to "we've not yet unloaded the truck" to "we can't locate the piece" to, finally, "we're making a new one, pronto!". That was last week and still no word from Fernando, the owner. He does not respond to my texts and his cell phone mailbox has not been set up. Calls to the stores go unanswered and their mailboxes have not been set up either. While items in the store may be desirable, DO NOT ORDER CUSTOM PIECES as there is no way to ensure timely receipt nor any degree of acceptable customer service. read more

Visited Friday for about my fifth time. This time I brought 7 friends for a shopping trip and we all bought several items. Our salesperson that day was not friendly at all! I asked about a damaged item and was not offered a fair reduction in price. The real frustrating thing was I bought a small turtle last month for $3. He denied it was $3 and charged me $5. When I got home I turned the turtle over and yes it was $3! Not too fond of liars. We all felt he was crabby and have debated on a return trip. read more

Great Place! The staff couldn't be nicer and more helpful. We go to both of their stores (2 doors apart) One has more furniture and one has more yard design items, pottery and kitchen ceramics. You won't believe the selection. One of the owners / managers says he goes to Mexico regularly and will visit select towns to source items from craftspeople if he can find something unique.
