We got the opportunity to come and check out their new relaunch party featuring their phenomenal vodka. This place hands down is one of my favorite go to places for the best cocktails in Vancouver. If you are looking for the best cocktails & virgin cocktails this place is the gem for you! We got to check out some special cocktails during this launch. * Welcome drink ~ This was the first drink we had this evening, the drink was a vodka with lemoncello drink. It was super light and refreshing. Good starter drink to begin the night with. * Bluestar ~ This is so dangerous and so good, you don't even taste or feel the 1.5oz of vodka they used in it. This drink had blue curacao, passionfruit and lime topped with a egg white foam. This was my favourite drink as it was sweet and refreshing. Not to mention stunning. * Moscow Mule ~ This was super strong, it was super rich in the ginger, which gave the drink a strong prominent element of the spice. The vodka paired very well with the strong ginger and the lime on top added a nice hint of zest to the drink. This was a good and medium strong drink for the evening to warm you up. * Rye Old Fashion ~ Speaking of warming you up this was the strongest drink I've had all evening. Their Rye whiskey is no joke, its super strong and the taste was rich. I love how pretty their old fashion is, and this is a drink for all you old fashion whiskey lovers. * 10/10 ~ if you havent come here for the drinks yet your missing out because 10/10 it was outstanding and super delicious. The staff is also amazingly friendly here, totally worth the trip here.

Phenomenal cocktails and slick east van atmosphere. The cocktail menus rotates, so so enjoy your favourite while it lasts.

    The Jessica Rabbit cocktail

This is a fantastic little gem that you need to check out. They have amazing cocktails and the menu changes regularly so there's always something delicious to check out. The Catchweight food truck is parked outside if you want a taste bite to eat while you enjoy your drinks.

    Just Peachy. Love!

I've always wanted to do something like this but have been a bit nervous to do so but he made the class fun, funny, and so easy! You have the chance to make 3 bespoke artisan cocktails during this 3 hour class, 2 of their signatures and then the 3rd Aaron let us pick! He made it so easy and explained each step well, also how to use the tools properly along with sharing some great tips on shaking, measuring and also the importance of balance in your cocktail. I enjoyed every minute as well as consuming the cocktails after... each so delicious made with their in house liquors. If I had room I would have bought several bottles with me to take home!

Aaron came out as we were looking for Plan B and let us know the event had just ended and they were open again. (5 loud cheers on the street for sure!) I tried both the Kyoto and Wet Work, enjoying them both. They would even work as a blend of one another. My dad accidentally ordered a chocolate martini instead of an espresso martini, and Aaron made it happen. (The entire table loved it! Take that poured over some ice cream and I'd be far too content!) My brother had the gin martini, and while not a fan of gin straight up, it had a nice smooth finish that I could appreciate.

We had the best time at Odd Society, and I am still smiling two days later. Initially perplexed,…read moresince our Uber dropped us off one block away, we had no idea where we were in the dark of the Canadian night. Surrounded by warehouses, did the driver want us to experience a "call of the wild?" However, Odd Society beckoned one block from the corner, and two seats were available at the strange bar. Strange because our view was blocked by a kind of ersatz plastic and wood wagon wheel blocking our view of the servers and bar. It was reminiscent of Utah's Zion Curtain. Later, I was told it was part of Odd Society's Covid protection and helped the bartenders stack things up. Okay, fine, but tear the damn things down. They're obnoxious. Odd Society creates an array of liquors made from ingredients sourced locally by law. It's required by their license. I tried almost all of them, and most were fantastic. Abby and Colin, our servers, were charming, fun, and educational, answering my questions, which became increasingly inane as the alcohol took effect. The distillery also mixes fantastic cocktails, and mine, named Midori, was friggen unbelievable. I had two of them along with my liquor tasting. My Midori was made with a special concoction called Portuguese Sweet Milk, or something like that. It was amazing. I want one for breakfast. The fun kept coming, and I didn't want to leave. Alas, we had reservations at Lunch Lady up the street. We should have stayed at Odd Society. Lunch Lady was a disappointment. Try Odd Society out as both a distillery and cocktail bar. You won't be disappointed about either one.

In summary, the place was ok, but noticed after the fact that we were overcharged for the drinks. It's a small space - about 3 high tables, one lower one, each seating 4 to maybe at most 5 people, plus a bar. I reserved a table for the 2 of us at 3:30 pm on a Sunday (earliest reservation they had as they open at 3 pm) and we were seated at 3 pm. They checked our vaccine passports and then seated us. Not long after we were seated, the remaining tables were all taken just after opening for 30 minutes so I would recommend reserving if you prefer tables over bar seating. The waitress brought over a drinks menu and food menu. The menu showed cocktails at $13. We chose our drinks and ordered, then the waitress came by with a second menu that she said was for Sunday only. She apologized and said she normally doesn't work Sunday's so she didn't know this promotional menu was available. This menu had some cocktails on promotion that I would have not minded to try, but I had already received my cocktail. Oh well. I had the Violet and Claire, which looked great and tasted pretty good for the first half. However by the second half of the drink, it started to taste too sweet. It was not bad for a cocktail, overall. My friend said the Smoke Between the Sheets cocktail was alright as well. We got our bills quickly as we had a second place to visit afterwards. After paying, I snapped a picture of the bill at the time but did not notice until I got home that to my surprise, each cocktail was listed on the bill at $14.95. I recalled their physical menu saying $13, and verified this with their menu online. Unfortunately, I did not notice the discrepancy until I was home, otherwise I would have mentioned something. Note that our visit was at the end of November 2021, and at the time I'm writing this review (December 26, 2021), their online menu still has cocktail prices at $13. So, I am not sure if this was a one time mistake when we paid, or if they have just forgotten to update their menu? Either way, this was disappointing. Because of the entire experience I probably won't visit again, especially with all the other options Vancouver has for cocktails.

Every other beer tour we've done (and we've done a ton) was walking, so adding a van into the mix - being trapped with a dozen other strangers for the course of three hours - was slightly daunting. We're social (I am, at least), but I never like feeling forced into it. I know that makes me sound terrible, but it's the truth. At any rate, any fears we might have shared about the van were quickly swept away by our awesome guide Dave, and the people on the tour. I won't lie and say we were swapping phone numbers and e-mail addresses by the end of the night, but I will tell you that we shared some crazy good stories and a ton of laughs along the way! The meeting point was at Waterfront Station, and it was easy enough to find Dave at the appointed time. He got us checked in right away, chatted with us a bit, then let us wander while we waited for everybody to show up. Once we were all there, he gathered us into a group and walked us up the block to get to the van. We were full up, but he managed to reign in the chatter and get us comfortable before we hit our first stop. Our tour that night consisted of Main Street Brewery, Postmark Brewery and Steel Toad Brewery. The longest tour was at the first stop, Main Street. We did the obligatory behind-the-scenes walk, where the rig is displayed and explained, the brew-making process is detailed, and containers of hops and barley are passed around for sniffing and consuming. By the time we were led back to the front of the brewery for our tasting, I was excited. I really wanted to try Vancouver beer! Dave had done such a great job talking up the craft brew scene, and here we were, about to try our first Vancouver craft beers. I was, sadly, underwhelmed. I didn't really like any of the beers in the flight (which consisted of a Pilsner, Saison, IPA and Brown), which left me feeling deflated. I was surprised that I wasn't blown away by the saison or the brown, but neither of them were my favorite. Moving along, Dave got us bundled back into the van and headed towards Postmark, which had a really fun, loud vibe to the place. We got another (shorter) tour of the workings at Postmark before heading to our table for our flight there (a winter wheat, a raspberry lambic, their stout and their IPA). The beer here was much better than at Main Street, at least. I really enjoyed the stout and the winter wheat. The lambic was actually much more tame than I expected it to be, but the IPA about took my head off. It wasn't as strong as the IPAs in San Diego, but after the others in the flight, it was too much for me. Before we knew it, Dave was giving us the 5 minute warning, and then hustling us back into the van for the trip to the final stop of the night. Had we had the time during our brief trip to Vancouver, we definitely would've gone back to Postmark on our own. Steel Toad was the only place at which we did not get a flight. I'm actually quite saddened by that, though Dave did put it up for a vote. Anybody who wanted a flight could've gotten one, but I was feeling pressured and went along with everyone else, who got a pint of one beer only. I got their Oatmeal stout, and it was very good. Dark and rich, not too overpowering or thick. It really was a good beer on which to end the night. Dave, through this all, was engaging and friendly, answering questions, providing trivia, giving his opinions on Vancouver's beer scene, and making us feel comfortable. He was great at corralling the group and keeping us on time, and providing little bits of trivia about the areas we visited and drove through (he even pointed out some landmarks from the "Deadpool" movie!) The night ended with a smaller group of us piling into the van and heading back to our meeting point (half of the group decided to stick around Steel Toad). My lasting impression of the night is that a) Dave has the patience of a saint, if he has to deal with a van full of drunkards on a nightly basis; 2) Dave could collect anecdotes from his tours and compile them into a book; and iii) I'd recommend this tour to any beer lover visiting Vancouver.
