Rivertowne Rentals

Rivertowne Rentals

The absolute worst. And I lived in NYC for many years with horrible rental companies. We rented…read morefrom one of their owners for 5 years. The landlord, Jerry, 2209 Foxhorn, was wonderful and kind and attentive. We build a great relationship with him, or so we thought. When it came time to move out his wife lost her mind, and was screaming and swearing about the behind the fridge having some dust. The management company, who had previously signed off on us doing a great job cleaning, and said we would get out deposit back, was there, Melissa who works for that company had recently been trolling me about the move out and that she wanted my rug (weird), and laughed at the landlords wife lost it like a petulant child. Melissa sent me a series of last min texts saying they needed to get in to do an inspection within the day (illegal, legally you need two days notice, then freaked out and said her husband has his face slammed in the door- spoiler, it was not slammed in his face, just another example of the crazy). I spoke to the owner, who I knew from mutual activities, and she refused to help. Stay away. They are absolutely crazy and corrupt. We did not get our security deposit back, also illegal for normal living in a place. We paid $400 in cleaning to make sure it was in great condition when we moved out. Just a nightmare

Things worked out great with Rivertowne Rentals finding us our place. We're new to this area, and…read moreMelissa found just what we wanted at the price we could afford. We love our new rental, the town and the company. Thank you Rivertowne.

Senner Properties

It only took a few weeks to realize the beautiful, 100-year-old house we rented from Senner…read moreProperties was plagued by problems: a flea infestation, squirrel droppings beneath the kitchen cabinets, black mold growing under the cheap shower surrounds, a leaking master shower, a leaking bedroom roof and resulting mold in the carpet, and -- as we discovered by accident -- smoke detectors that hadn't been outfitted with batteries (a legal responsibility of the landlord, and a potentially dangerous oversight). Senner Properties are so intent on pinching pennies that they threw bandaids over each problem. A great example is the five days in the middle of winter that we spent without hot water while the landlord avoided buying a new water heater (despite his own handyman's suggestions to replace it). No rent deductions, no sense of urgency on their end. Or the time we brought the leaking, moldy shower surrounds to their attention, and they literally caulked right over the mold without removing it or exploring the cause. It's still there, growing between the plastic and the wall. The kicker, though, was the illegal deduction from our security deposit for things like "sweeping," "paint scuffs" and "lightbulbs," all of which are considered normal wear and tear. These deductions are included in a letter that begins, "Thank you for taking good care of our property." We treated the house as our own, and only requested action on problems when it was absolutely necessary. So, renter beware: You might find a beautiful house with Senner Properties, but what you see won't be what you get.

Attentive to any and all concerns of tenants, and they go above-and-beyond to ensure tenants needs are met in a timely manner. Highly, recommend them to any homeowners looking to protect their investments, and renters looking for a management company that truly cares about tenants.

We even paid the last month rent rather than letting our deposit go for that; that was a mistake. I thought they would be fair and honest but I've learned that when someone has your money (especially over $1,000) they do NOT want to give it back to you. Tyson charged us $136 for replacement blinds! They had the ILLEGAL blinds with cords and they were old and rotten. They charged us for "missing" light bulbs; we removed all the CFL bulbs when we moved in, replacing them with LED bulbs. When we moved out we replaced our LED bulbs with their CFL bulbs. They charged us $150 cleaning fee when we left it squeaky clean! They charged us $250+ to replace a 3' square of cheap vinyl in the laundry room. They charged us $46 to replace a florescent bulb on the kitchen ceiling - 12' up! Management companies SUCK.
