We took in the chairs from my parents 60-year-old maple dining room set to be re-glued. They were…read moreloose and wobbly. One of them had some spindles that were damaged. Cindy did a beautiful job fixing them with an eye for detail and cleaned them up, too. The turn around time was quick. When we took them in, the finish on the chairs was worn and scuffed. They look really nice now and we don't have to worry about them collapsing when someone sits on them.

I could not recommend this place more highly. I had two chairs I had found on the street years…read moreago, which I had been lugging around ever since. I had worked on them a little bit myself, but knew I was in over my head. I was also worried about calling in a professional, wary of turning what had been a free find into an incredibly expensive one. Eventually I bit the bullet, and called Artcraft. I worked with Cindy, who is truly wonderful. She was prompt about getting back to me, and gave her own suggestions while being careful to listen to what I was asking for. She clearly understands the sentimental value of the furniture she gets, in addition to its monetary value. I was also initially worried about replacing the damaged casters and caster sleeves of the chair--she did an amazing job! She found period matches for one chair, and completely replaced the wheels of another, which had been modified at some point in its past. She was also very sharp in her assessment of the materials and time period of the pieces, which was especially helpful given these chairs' unknown history. The rates were very reasonable, and the work was completed before the date she gave. She also has a nice collection of antiques, if you're in the market for something. I have attached photos of the chairs, but they do not do the work justice. They're so lovely!

I had my California king bed resized to a queen, and Matt did an outstanding job. His craftsmanship…read moreis flawless -- you'd never know the bed was ever anything but a queen. He was easy to work with, completed the project right on schedule, and even provided pick-up and delivery since I live nearby. The entire job cost less than buying a new bed, and the quality far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!

A cherished antique dining room table was damaged in a move from Phoenix to Tucson. I requested…read morebids on Yelp for someone to repair it. I got several messages about the project, but Matt Neel was the only one who followed through on every step of the bid, and he wasn't weird about it. He didn't pressure me to accept the bid before I was ready, like one of the other businesses did. And on top of everything else, the bid he gave me was the most reasonable in terms of price! As far as his work goes, it's excellent! My table looks beautiful. The repairs aren't noticeable at all. He also strengthened the table legs so that they would be less likely to break in the future. I'm so pleased. The one possible caveat I would issue is that working with Matt required a bit of patience. He is busy and takes on new projects as he has time. There was also a health issue that set back the date at which he could return my table. This wasn't a problem for me; I understand that things come up sometimes, and given how reasonable his rates are, it seemed only fair to me to be flexible when he said he needed more time. If you also can be flexible about time, I think Matt is the best guy to hire for your project.
