This is one of the restaurants in the food hall, and the bar area was super crowded with people getting drinks during lunch. We were able to get a table pretty easily, and service sped up as it finally quieted down towards the end of lunch time, but it was a really long wait for our entrees.
Wines by the glass are cheap, starting around €3-4 a glass, with most bottles (other than champagne) in the €20-30s range. Nothing is particularly special on the list, but I can definitely see why everyone was just hanging out at the bar.
The special was a hot deal at €18 (check the chalkboard out friend):
1. Chicken quiche: pretty good flavored filling, comes with a side salad
2. Pollock with a curry sauce and quinoa: the bed of quinoa was huge (a bit unappetizing), and it could have used more sauce for the amount of quinoa. The curry in the sauce was very mild. There was also a beet root purée on the side. The fish itself was cooked fine.
3. Molten chocolate cake: we came on the later side, so they were out of the praline tart and mille-feuille, which were supposed to be the set menu dessert options. For a pub type place, they had an impressive texture on the warm chocolate cake !
We also got the risotto with vegetable, poached egg, truffle oil: you may wonder why I got risotto in France, but I just really needed some vegetables. This was actually great in texture and flavor, and it's a great vegetarian option (possibly the only one). The risotto was the clear favorite.
Risotto aside, the menu was primarily French food.
You're not really there for service or ambience, but it's an easy casual place to stop in for an inexpensive lunch. Food was slow, and the staff was busy but friendly.
Bonus: They have their own bathroom upstairs, which was way cleaner than the food hall one. read more
