Came here unexpectedly since I wasn't planning on getting a tattoo today but my friend told me I should come in and get it down. I really wanted to find a good tattoo artist that fits my needs. I'm really picky with my style of Art and line work as well. This is my second tattoo I am getting and I want this to be the best tattoo I ever gotten. I came in here after work hoping Danny was working so he can do my tattoo for me because I heard he's a really good tattoo artist and checking his Instagram page made me want him as my tattoo artist. I asked Danny if I can get a tattoo similar to this but have my family crest in the middle instead. So he drew something out and tried to make it similar to the one I wanted. He showed me the drawing and I was in love with the piece right away! I love the drawing he did and that's the tattoo I would want on my right arm. Finally we got to the part of the tattooing, he place the paper onto my arm and have the piece stay on my arm so it would be easier for him to trace over the pen ink. He told me it will be finish by the time the store closes. When he was tattooing my arm I was a little scared maybe it will hurt but the tattoo gun didn't make it hurt. I felt so relaxed and calm during the whole process. Danny was a really nice friendly guy. He was talking to me a lot during the process and just having a conversation. It was great:) I really liked his vibe that he had. The tattoo probably took like 2/3 hours long only. I thought it would be longer. The piece is finally done and oh my god I love the piece so much! I never fell in love with my own tattoo before:) Danny! Your the best! Your my number one tattoo artist and I will recommend you to all my friends! I recommend having Danny as your tattoo artist! He has a lot of fine art works. The tattoo is about $550 he said, the piece is quite big and detailed as well! I give him pros on the art work! LOVE YOU SO MUCH DANNY! While I haven't been into the studio, I had the pleasure of having the shop owner, Pakz, do my tattoo at the Polynesian Tattoo Convention. The price was a little on the high side but hey, you get what you pay for right? He drew the letters up himself and I couldn't be more happy with the results! I've always been a fan of OE but I didn't know if that print would be too heavy for something with that many letters. Altogether I was probably getting tattooed for about three hours but there were breaks here and there. I'm definitely thinking up another saying for my right thigh and I'd love to go back to Pakz to have him ink up that one, too. So I've lived on island for three years now and haven't gotten any ink done. Mainly because searching out a good tattoo artist could be a bit of a task. Finding someone who is passionate about what they do, with natural talent and attention to detail, while not being a douchbag. A couple weeks ago I ran into a co-worker who recently got some new artwork on his forearm. I was extremely impressed with the detail and steady intricate line work. Naturally the first thing I asked was where he got it done. He had nothing but high praise for DannyK at restless tattoo. So I had to come check it out. Before I headed over I made sure to call first to make sure Danny was in. He told me to come by and we could have a consultation on what I wanted done. I went in and in about 20 minutes I saw some of his other work described what I wanted and made an appointment. (Every appointment made requires a $100 deposit. Deposit goes towards total of tattoo) Danny told me he would draw up some custom pieces and send them to me and we could go from there. The next day he sent me photos of three different possible designs of what I wanted. All of which I was impressed with. On the day of the tattoo he was ready with another more intricate design that blew me away and I decided that was the one. A quick three hours later he banged out the piece and did a cover up for me on an old tattoo. I'm really pleased with his work and will definitely be back soon. I Tipped him an extra $70 (yes guys... you are supposed to tip great tattoo artists. After all they are giving you artwork that will be with you forever. If you like it show them some love). It's only been a couple days since I got the work done but it's healing up great and I've already recommended DannyK to some of my customers where I work. 5 stars for sure. read more

I'm a few months later on this review, but hey, better late than never. I work down the street from this place and I have to Uber to work early cause of the expense after 4p. Anyways, I had about 3hrs to spare and stumbled upon this place. I love ink so i keep all of my printouts in a folder in my backpack (I know I'm weird. (Side note: PRINT OUT your tattoo ideas, they like when they can actually see it and not flipping thru pics on your phone)). Anyways, I walk in and the guy (dont know his name) politely walked up and asked about my needs (Mind you, he had just put his stencil on his client, about to start, but still pause to at least greet me, and the client was totally cool about it, thanks dude). Not even 2 minutes later a guy walks out from the back room after hearing our convo and relieved the guy to take over. I show him my picture and he studied it, like reeeallly studied it, and the area I wanted it. He decided to take me back and was totally blunt and said he wasnt sure it would work out. I guess I should note that this was a mandala tattoo on my middle left hand finger (very tedious) so I appreciated his honesty. He told me he would draw it out on my finger first and then decide, and I was cool with that, I mean, its permanent, I want honesty. He takes me back and started to draw with his red and green sharpies getting a feel of if he wanted/could to do it or not. Luckily he decided to go for it and by this point I had total confidence in his work because he didn't even want to attempt if he didnt think he could do it. So away we went and well, let the fun begin. The guy was super chill and we talked story the entire time. At the end of it I was already following the shops Instagram page (@restlesstattoohawaii) and his personal page. He told me the price and I was a little taken back considering the size and placement, buuut, then I found out he was the SHOP OWNER &&& usually never takes the walk-in clients, so I couldn't complain a bit because i wasn't disappointed in any experience i had had there, even being a first time client. With that being said ... PAKX YOU ROCK!!! And I thank you thank you thank you for your patients and consideration on my piece. I definitely recommend this shop! They are all rad! read more

You know the place is legit when the ink you got from here (almost an year ago) gets more props than all your newer tattoos. I found these guys after hitting up about 7 tattoo shops and couldn't get a feel for any of them. We won't go through the details of how fate brought me here but this place landed in my face 2 nights before I was going to leave the island... at 11pm. Danny's there and tells me to hit up PAKZ who does the type of work I'm diggin. I hit him up and PAKZ goes out of his way to squash some details at midnight... we're in business. We decide to meet up that following noon (luckily there was a cancellation), and man... these guys live up to their name. We went hard for 15 hrs, ending at 3am. And trust - he doesn't work slow. My whole sleeve got wrapped w some fine detailing with some dope custom designs that blends traditional and modern Polynesian art. Long story short - it came out clean. No need for touch ups. Lines look bold and sharp. His shading work really makes the ink pop out. Money well spent. Just a quick disclaimer - like I said earlier, the work you get here might just dwarf your other tattoos. I just got ink on my hand that I thought was dope, and some people don't even realize it's there cuz they're too busy ogling over my sleeve. read more

I got my first tattoo here from Danny! He's a super cool guy and he knows what he's doing. He made sure I felt comfortable and even ran out to buy me soda from the nearby bar when I started getting really light headed (sidenote: make sure you eat before getting a tattoo, especially if it's your first time like me haha). I was always scared to go to a different artist since I've only stuck with one since I started getting my arm done. I've been aware of Pakz for a year or two now but never found the right idea I wanted. I knew a couple friends that got tattoos from him and what made me hesitant was because if I go through him, I would stay loyal through getting my art from him as well. I finally went in for a consult and the place was really clean, nice and dope. Even though I didn't put any money down, he started sketching me ideas and I was surprised. I wanted to get his opinion and we both weren't sure so he started free handing with a sharpie on the part of the body. He literally took 3 hours of his own freetime when he could have been resting after his sessions but he was very into it. He even told me the best way for my money as well because he's not the type to overcharge and take advantage. Its only 100$ minimum! He's quality work that you have to realize you'd be willing to pay for. Don't expect 1000$ quality tattoos for a couple hundred bucks. My experience with him was crazy. He messaged me on Instagram saying he had an opening on Saturday (Yesterday) and he let me come in. He's responds quicker to social media or the number linked to it. I came in and he started to stencil on my body and it took 4 hours only because he wanted to make sure it looked amazing. He actually and genuinely cares about the art he tattoos. I know plenty mf who would just not care. We started tattooing at about 8:50pm Saturday night and we finished at 5:31am Sunday morning. I tapped out but all that's left is the border around the lettering cause I couldn't take anymore. May I mind you, BEFORE THIS, MY LONGEST SESSION WAS 4 HOURS ON MY ARM AND THAT DID NOT REQUIRE ANY OUTLINES WHATSOEVER. So this was a new type of pain for me since I was only experienced with shading . He was nice even though at times, I couldn't take the pain and asked if we wanted anything to eat to make sure I'm catered to nourishments. He ordered pizza and I didn't realize he was going to pay for it until my awesome girlfriend told me so I can stop him. He didn't charge me for numbing spray he used during the session and we connected like we were friends through music. It was like I knew him for a while. He didn't charge me more for the piece and he stayed loyal to his word. There's not many artists around here like that anymore. Pakz is the shop owner for Restless Tattoo Hawaii and he is located in Samsung Plaza right across Sikdorak and Cafe Gangnam. He gives validation and there is a bathroom located right outside as well. If there isn't anyone out front because they might be busy during a session, there's a bell that you can ring. Just fucking do it and dont be like me standing around like an idiot for 20 minutes. I was surprised! I thought Pakz was late 20's but he's experienced with about 16 years! He is very talented at what he does and this isn't just any other bad ass artist. He is ahead of everyone that I have seen. His Lettering, Black and Grey, and Poly is crazy smooth, plus it's original. You can't find this reference off the internet for a reference unless someone biting off of him. There's books of art he's done and posted on the wall for references if you aren't sure what you want. AFTER: I was so happy with my art, I gave him 20% tip and told him I definitely want to come back. He has really nice shirts and clothes coming out for the next drop soon so check them out as well!. My girlfriend was so impressed and she wants one from him now! This Tattoo studio shop has been around for a very long time, winning years and years of 1st place trophies at the Expos, even in the mainland. I have seen this shop since I was a kid. No other store in there has been around as long as his has. Raging Crab, Morals Fiber, Vape Hawaii, VIP, Elim, Phone places, and etc. are the stores that used to be around after this shop came into this lot and they didn't last. This means something. A shop with two artists in the middle of Town, with high ass rent for the location they have. This is a different experience you definitely need to see. I am extremely grateful for Pakz. He is the kind of artist that you want to make sure is having a good time and cater to him because he treats you so well that you just want to return the favor. You can say you're paying big money for these tattoos and that should be worth him staying throughout the session but I get to see what I paid for, for the rest of my life as a constant trophy or reminder. Pakz doesn't even know that I'm making this review and this was my first time meeting him. This amazing experience is based off of a customer that could potentially be you. Good luck! read more

So so happy I decided to get my piece done here~ Danny was amazing, he helped me find what I wanted and listened to everything I had to say and worked with me to create a piece I love. I've been wanting this piece done for a while and it means a lot to me so I was very happy to find someone to trust and feel comfortable with to create my piece. Danny is helpful, makes you feel at home, and always asks how you're doing. I admittedly tend to pass out whenever I get shots or tattoos but I didn't feel even close to that at all while getting this piece, and it is the largest piece I have. I'd also try to get your price in concrete overall I'm happy with my work would of liked a discount for some of the extra time that I incurred. My family and I were recently in HI for a vacation and for all of our major vacations we like to get a tattoo as a remembrance. We stopped into Restless Tattoo based on a couple of recommendations from local's and internet searching. When we stopped in to talk with an artist we met Pakz. Pakz took some time to get to know us some and what type of tattoo we were looking for. We gave Pakz the ideas and let him run with them. He came up with some great designs and were exactly what we were looking for. Since there were 3 of us getting fairly large tattoos we knew that it would take some time to complete. We scheduled with Pakz for the day we were to leave out as we had the "red eye" flight out. In a "marathon" type session for Pakz he was able to complete all 3 tattoos in one day and we still made it to our plane in time. Pakz was very personable and took great care of us. He is one hell of an artist and is very talented with the ink gun. We all love our tattoos and are very glad that we found Pakz and Restless Tattoo!!!!! We wanted a small tattoo, flowers, colorful and saw Ashley's and it was gorgeous, a big pineapple on the inside of her upper arm...exquisite detail. Pakz was so sweet but he was not available so he referred us to his buddy, Josh. He was incredibly patient, answering all our silly questions and dealing with my daughter who was super nervous. We had a consult and met the following day. Josh had a few options for us, we discussed our choices and off I went to have my first tattoo at 64 yrs!!! I took 3 CBD gummies just in case and it was a breeze...no pain and I felt super happy when it was done. I had a blast talking with Josh who totally put me at ease during the session. He was very neat and professional; everything was wrapped and super clean. He checked with me about the colors and was very considerate about positioning me so I would be comfortable. When he was done, he meticulously went over the care and preservation of the tattoo. I have been to the shop twice now. Once for a touchup on an old tattoo and once for a new tattoo on my ribs. Both times I have gone the experience has been fantastic. I was tattooed both times by Danny and he is an outstanding. Through the whole process (especially for my four hour rib tattoo) he checked in with me and gave me breaks when needed. The whole process went by so smoothly and I ended up with a gorgeous tattoo that has super clean lines and beautiful shading. My friends and family cannot stop commenting on how much they love the tattoo and I am obsessed. The whole studio is very professional looking and they have a giant tv and play music to help distract from the pain of getting a tattoo. One day, this chick I work with came to work with a fresh tattoo of a chemical compound or whatever. It was her first tattoo, and I said to her that the lines looked really good. I asked her who did it and she told me that Danny did it. She even told me that she went through his works and hyped him up saying that his line work was good, that his watercolor style was good. I wanted to get a hibiscus and roses done on my wrist, so I remembered my friend's tattoo and how she hyped him up. I made an appointment and when I showed up, Danny showed me the design which I completely loved. My girlfriend sat next to us when he started on the tattoo, and Danny asked us questions and made light banter. He's really nice, and easy to talk to. Honestly, the tattoo he did was one of the nicest tattoos I've gotten ever. Got some work more than one session by the owner Pakz who is truly talented and passionate about the work he does good hands on the machine. The other artists Kyle, Dino, and DannyK all have great work and are very approachable. They have won various awards not only at Hawaii Tattoo Expo (PIAE) but throughout the mainland. If you have to come in late they stay late even past their posted hours which is midnight and if you need something earlier than their opening time which is noon let them know. The Artists in the shop are all well experienced, and really know what they are doing, especially the owner, Pakz. I've gotten an unfinished tattoo from one of their artist due to unfortunate circumstances. Pakz was generous enough to finish the piece with no charge. Completing an unfinished tattoo from a different artist is a very hard task for anyone to do, but Pakz, with years of experience was able to do it. I applaud him for that. This is by far the best shop ive been to hands down. Its a small place but the staff has big time aloha and their work is second to none. Been there 3 times and the pieces I have from Kyle are unreal. Getting back to the staff , never been to a shop that the artists going to get food or drinks whatevers ask customers if they need a drink or anything else...thats what Aloha is all about. Ill be back many times to get more work done, not only by Kyle but hopefully the rest of the staff as well.
