They have great recommendations, will order taxis for you and suggest activities and restaurants. They all work so hard- even the manager is not above serving breakfast, painting trim, carrying new mattresses up the stairs! etc. But they always have time to stop and ask you what you need or just chat. Upon checkout I asked for some consideration for the first two nights but received nothing. I cannot recommend this hotel because you might get a bad room, as we did. I would certainly not take a ground floor room. It's a shame because the 16th century building is beautiful and the wait and room staff are exceptional.

We stayed on a upper floor overlooking the courtyard where they serve breakfast. Walking around that courtyard, you'll overlook the pool which is small but very nice and romantic. My guy and I came back from a trip to Monte Alban (Oaxacan ancient ruins) and all we wanted was a dip in the pool. It started raining and it was one of the most romantic moments of our trip. This hotel was the gem of our trip, a special getaway retreat in such a historic and culturally rich city.
