Listen to this: I need more Latin cuisine practice. Estoy practicando hablar en español... but…read morethat's as far as I get. I love to try new foods and attempt the local language wherever I go... but still it's impossible to mask dumb: I ordered a delicious bowl of Eggs in Xalapa style tomato broth. It arrived but they brought tortillas.... Ok... maybe I should take the (what appeared to be) scrambled eggs out of the broth and into the tortillas? Maybe add some beans and salsa too? No, of course you cannot make tacos out of soup-- idiota!!!! I had to laugh at myself and only one passing server gave me the Rock's stanky eyebrow as broth squirted everywhere! This place is absolutely stunning. The views by the window, the food presentation, the artwork and decor inside and out: I loved it all. It was especially nice that this whole Palanco area is basically one big green park. Again, my Spanish isn't great and I need much more practice but the waitress and the management were so kind and supportive. I would definitely recommend this place for a solo adventurer but it's quaint and yummy enough for a nice group dinner.

I would've thought Mexico City had great food in general, but that wasn't the case. Was there for four days, ate many meals out and this was the only one I really enjoyed. Too bad the place was so hot and stuffy. It was cooler outside than it was inside. All they needed to do was open some windows. Service was great though.

The food was all familiar, familiar names were attached to most menu items, very easy to sit back and relax without a thought. Service, as we experienced at almost all restaurants throughout the city was very good. We had the Natalie Portman, the Lisa Simpson, the Ariana Grande, and the Doctor Strange. All very comfortable (that word again) to eat. There are a ton of vegan breakfast places in the city, I would return when I'm ready for a return to familiar terrain.

Servers were polite enough, but my husband's tacos were missing the onion snd cilantro. Maybe they got confused because I asked to remove onions and made sure that my sandwich did not have cilantro. Except for the vegan suadero, my husband liked his tacos. My torta Cubana was not a good choice. There was way too much bread that wasn't the right kind, wasn't toasted and was very dry. The filling was also very dry and tasteless. The milanesa was particularly disappointing. My friend's restaurant in Toluca used to make the most tender, delectable gluten milanesas, but maybe everyone is gluten free now. The meal was saved by good red and green salsas that actually had some heat. Everything else was bland and what you'd expect from American vegan food. Other items looked much better and we will certainly be back to try them.

The small plates are still tasty and unique but the flavors and portions have gone down. I got the bone marrow sopes, sopa de lima, oxtail gorditas, and beef tongue for tacos this time around. Everything was good, especially the beef tongue tomato stew which was super flavorful. The beef tongue was perfectly tender and so yummy with the broth. It was a bit odd to eat this in tacos though considering there was so much sauce but good by itself as well. The only dish I didn't like was the bone marrow sopes which this time around felt much smaller than when I had it last. There was barely any escamole which we added on and the bone marrow pieces were so small. While it was one of my favorites the last time I visited, I wouldn't get it again.

We could have probably kept going but we decided to stop here instead. This restaurant was super chill, and even a few people had their dogs with them. We had just missed the breakfast time, and we instead ordered from their lunch menu. I decided on the tacos de tuétano which included salsa molcajeteada and quelites. My best friend and riding partner ordered something even bigger. The Gordita de guisado de res and it looked yummy. The food and service were outstanding and we would recommend this restaurant to all bike riders!

I don't think you could wrong with any of the options. Our favorites were the frijoles con queso (beans and cheese), papas con queso (potatoes and cheese) and the papas con chorizo (potatoes with chorizo). We ate inside and salsas and crema are on the tables. You order by checking off how many of each item you would like on a paper list and then hand that to the server. Highly recommend!!
