We stopped here for a birthday lunch and wow! The service was super friendly. Our server, Monique was so helpful, pleasant, and attentive. We were a group of 5 and ordered vegetable mofongo, shrimp mofongo, the pasta special of the day, an empanadillas, tostones, and a chicken burger with bacon and fries that looked like it came from a gastropub. It was so good, the birthday gal ordered 2 addl empanadillas to go for another meal at home!
When Monique learned it was a birthday, she even brought out a beautiful complimentary flan, which she had made! Everything was delightful and delicious. And the prices are much more reasonable than many of the "tourist towns".
Aguirre has a unique history and many historic buildings are scattered throughout the town. Stop for lunch or dinner and walk around and the nature trails and center are great (and free). read more
