I actually preferred the fondue with the potatoes as opposed to the bread but both options were lovely. The pickles and onions were great to sort of cleanse the palate. While there is indoor seating, its slightly dark and smelly inside (due to the cheese being cooked!), so do what the Europeans do and enjoy the outdoors! For food, I opted to try the Rosti florentine (rosti with spinach) and the small portion of the raclette. The raclette came out first and was so yummy. I mean, who doesn't like a plate of melted cheese with potatoes and pickles?! When a dish is mainly cheese, the quality of the cheese is paramount. I'm happy to report that the cheese Le Mazot uses is top-notch. Beware, even if you order the small portion of the raclette, it might as well be a meal within itself. Because by the time I got my rosti, I was stuffed! The rosti was pretty tasty and I was glad to have gotten it with spinach, as otherwise it's pretty dense with the shredded potatoes as a base. It was a nice dish to try, but if I only had to order one, I'd opt for the raclette. Service was good and the food was brought out at a nice pace. Le Mazot is a solid choice to get some Swiss staples without having to search too far.

Very cozy and warm and it is right next to Einstein house musuem. You can go to the Einstein house musuem first and then sit at the cafe and have a snack. Service was excellent. But the visiting card of this restaurant isn't worth to keep, it's just gross: there was NO TOILET PAPER LEFT in the women's restroom! Not to mention a complimentary roll! That's unhygienic and unprofessional! We informed the staff afterwards, so the restroom would at least be checked once a day! The other conditions didn't compensate for this toilet incident: - The outdoor seating was shaky and uncomfortable. - We just took a seat because of the special menu, salad with sausage and cheese (Wurst-Käse-Salat), so the bigger the disappointment, as the waitress told us, this menu isn't available anymore. It wasn't even 7pm then! We noticed some other disappointed guests after getting this information. One couple actually left the restaurant because of that. - Not until after 45 minutes our menus arrived! And the place wasn't even crowded! - We ordered calf liver (Kalbsleberli) with rösti and "Fish in Basket" (frittierte Zanderfilets) with french fries. Both menus weren't that big neither that tasty - instead they were quite pricey: CHF 29.50.- for a plate of liver with rösti and CHF 24.50.- for 4, 5 pieces of fillets and some squashy french fries in a small basket! Not to recommned! Just an overpriced tourist trap with lousy service and unhygienic restrooms (at least the women's one on that day)!
