A reasonably priced lunch time business menu and a good evening menu with regular specials. It caters well (for Germany) for vegetarians, and for the carnivores among you the steaks are great (even our Australian friend was impressed). The service is competent and friendly, it seems to be one of the few restaurants in Germany that actually manages to bring all the meals together.

Absolute bull! I went here in late 2016 using the Schlemmerblock. I will NEVER return. The…read morewaitstaff is not to be trusted, and management does not respond to complaints about their thieving staff. My party of four received good service. The food was nothing special, but you can't expect amazing food in Darmstadt. I had been to Mokka Mokka before and did not expect to get ripped off. The check came, and I paid using my EC card. The waiter then refused to accept my 4:2 Schlemmerblock even though he had it counted on the bill. He did new math in his head and announced the new number. I went along with him, not wanting to be rude in front of the entire table and not really thinking about what was happening. He made a big show of my card not being accepted, which further distracted me. Only after leaving the restaurant, I realized that he told me wrong and I should have gotten two free meals, not just one. He probably took the price of the extra meal as a tip for himself. I wrote to the manager in German. I also wrote to the Schlemmerblock company. Schlemmerblock advised me to leave a bad review on their website. The manager did nothing. I will not be returning.

We visited the Weißer Schwan today, in a group of about twenty people. We went in for coffee, a…read morelight lunch and cake, after attending a funeral for a beloved family member. The Weißer Schwan was a perfect place for this because it was quiet, somewhat elegant, and a vey classic restaurant. Our meal consisted of a vegetable soup, Brötchen topped with salad, cheeses, tomatoes, and sprouts and two types of cakes; plum cake and mandarin-chocolate cake. Everything was tasty, with the only negative impression was that the Brötchen was not super fresh. But, it was around 2:00pm when we visited, so I guess it was that the day had already passed halfway, since the Brötchen was made in the morning. The tables were set with white tablecloths. There was both, Still and Classic Mineral Water on each table, for self service. The served coffee was Jacobs and it was served hot and fresh, with self service creamer and sugar. The service was likewise on point and the afternoon was successful in spite of the reason for our gathering. We did not order from the restaurant's menu, but I am providing it here among my images for your reference. I would certainly be willing to give Weißer Schwan a try for a regular dining experience and think, if you're looking for a nice quiet place to have a meal you cannot go wrong here. So, give it a try! Eat well. Be well. Cheers!
