Great traditional Danish meal. We sat outside while the sun was shining drinking a glass of wine and watching people walk by. Then we ate our meal in the charming traditional Danish vibe. Everything was delicious and packed with flavor. The open faced sandwiches were next level. Make sure to get or share the fried egg open face with the table, it's worth it! Love the traditional spiced porridge for dessert. Oh and their seasonal Snaps, make sure to indulge. Lovely attentive service and care.

What do you get when you take the teams from Schønnemanns, Le Sommelier, and backing of Formel B? Pelægade! All the restaurant industry folks said this was the place to go and we didn't question them. Classic smørrebrød done well. Fried plice with fjord shrimps, beef tongue with remoulade and snaps of pepper and dill to round out the meal. Awesome. I hate to see a beloved place like Schønnemanns go down hill but it looks like they got aold and staff are flocking here. Only time will tell

The marinated herring isn't great. Kind of fishy and not much going on besides that. The mayonnaise tastes like mayonnaise. A lot of lemon. Sour and fishy. I ended up not eating it. However, I don't want to dock stars for this because I'm not a particularly big fan of pickled herring to begin with (or mayonnaise). The roast beef with mustard and fried onions and pickles was very good. I removed the fried onions and a good chunk of the mustard to make it lighter, but it was very good. The mustard was pretty sweet and added a very nice flavor. One of the best mustards I've had. The roast beef was okay. The pickles were also okay. The service was great and they were very friendly. It was nice sitting outside and they immediately replaced my water when they saw I was empty. Personally, I would not come back, but if you like smørrebrød, then this is a great place for you.

Stunning. The first meal we had in Copenhagen and it will be hard to top. We did the tasting menu (located on the very far left of the menu) and were blown away by every course. Both the presentation and flavors were breathtaking. Service was wonderful. The wait staff was extremely helpful and gave great recommendations including beers and how to make the most of our selections.

This restaurant is on "Restaurant Row" in the Nyhavn area. This restaurant was a recommendation,…read moreand I would recommend it too. There were outside tables, but it was a bit chilly, so we opted for the nearly deserted inside restaurant. We had a table near the window, so it was a great view. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the service was very friendly. I ordered the gravlax open-faced sandwich, which is smoked salmon (very similar to lox) on an excellent sour dough bread. I opted to skip the mustard sauce, but the sandwich was perfect. My wife had the potato open-faced sandwich, which consisted of new potatoes, organic rye bread, lemon mayonnaise (romaleid), fried onions and pickled pearl onions. She really enjoyed it, along with her Spritz drink. Denmark seems to be one of those countries, where you cannot order tap water. Fair enough. However, our water consisted of an open carafe (which I'm sure was tap water), for which we were charged 50 Krona ($8). This seems high for tap water.

Staff had a "I don't wanna be here attitude"... we were definitely a bother. Went for the burger,…read morecouldn't add cheese, staffed stated food was not made there, so no modifications. Settled on fried fish and shrimp croquettes (ok). We knew it was a tourist trap, but we were looking for better service. Great location on a beautiful day, if not for the excitement of being in the city... the staff could have destroyed it. On vacation, looking to order a drink, I was advised they only had what was on the menu... mind you, as you look around, the establishment next door was rocking a full bar! In my opinion, pick a trap with friendly inviting and help staff... not unless you like it that way!
