I visted Laxmi Indian restaurant in Lausanne on the evening of 24 August 2018 with my family, consisting of 4 adults and 2 children. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was no welcome or greeting. The waiter did his best to hurry us and to rush the food order, and we had barely taken our seats. Nevertheless, we ordered food for 5 people initially. At the time of placing the order, we mentioned that one of the children was not hungry and did not want to eat anything. The order we placed was valued at around €200 which included some drinks. The owner then told us in an angry and arrogant tone that the order we had placed was insufficient for 6 people. We told him that we would order more food if necessary, just in case boy changed his mind and decided to eat something. We were therefore surprised to find that the waiter only laid five plates on the table, missing out one child. Proper dining etiquette in a restaurant requires a plate to be placed in front of each person sitting at the table, regardless of whether they are eating or not. We found this embarrassing. We questioned why only 5 plates had been laid on the table? The owner said that one child was not eating. We were shocked by the owner's rude and aggressive reply. I requested him to control his rude manner. To our amazement, he then asked us to leave the restaurant. Shocking!!!We duly paid for the drinks we had and left the restaurant. What horrendous service by this restaurant, with a brash, arrogant and rude attitude towards customers. When you consider the exorbitant prices this restaurant charges, you would expect the service to be exceptional. read more
