L’Oeufrier - No cream cheese and a hard bagel

I've noticed this restaurant few days ago in the neighbourhood. And this Saturday I've decided to…read moregive it a try. I went alone as the day was dedicated to self care and love. Service was great and fast as it was a busy day I was amazed. Food was also good and tasty. I love their menu because of the cool, funny and original names given to each meal. Very creative. Now I know they have a few locations around the city that I would love to try. But thumbs up for this one.

As someone who has been reviewing restaurants for over 11 years, I was really disappointed with my…read moreexperience here. I came in specifically to try their lunch special that I saw advertised on Instagram a bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese, potato salad, and soup. The photo they posted showed a generous portion with plenty of cream cheese. Unfortunately, what I received was completely different from what was advertised. The bagel had barely any cream cheese honestly it looked like almost none at all. I even politely mentioned it to the waitress because I thought maybe they had forgotten to add it. She spoke to the kitchen, and I clearly saw one of the chefs (a man with a beard) look over and say "that's enough cream cheese." There wasn't even a small container or extra on the side. What made the situation worse is that it seemed like the owner was sitting in the back on a computer and saw the interaction, but nothing was done to address it. The waitress simply came back and said, "that's just how it is." The potato salad was also very underwhelming and lacked flavor. After coming home from vacation, all I wanted was a simple, comforting bagel with cream cheese and salmon something Montreal is known for. Sadly, this experience did not deliver that. What you see advertised online is not what you get, and because of that, I unfortunately won't be returning to this location.

As a seasoned foodie (and self‑proclaimed schnitzel whisperer), I sauntered into Bohemia with high…read morehopes and left on fleek. Here's the insider scoop: Schnitzel: Perfectly crisp, gold-fried, and so tender I may or may not have audibly moaned mid-bite. Goulash (for real gouoners): A hearty, rich stew that had my friends waxing poetic about Eastern Europe, right in the South Shore. Sides: Beets and seasonal veggies stole the show; bright, fresh, and seasoned like a chef who actually gives a damn. The décor is charmingly rustic-Bohemian: soft lighting, vintage accents, and enough character to make it feel like you stumbled into a cozy Prague café. It's welcoming, warm, and strangely enchanting. Only downside? They didn't have Pilsner Urquell on tap, and my dream Czech pairing dashed. But the food more than made up for it with flavor heavy enough to forgive a brewery oversight. Would I go back? Absolutely. Bohemia is a solid little European escape; right here in Brossard.

We were initially turned away for not having a reservation, ordered to go and were eventually told we could have a table. My daughter felt we were "profiled" and turned away for being American since after we were sat two other couples came in and were sat who clearly did not have reservations, but spoke French. Truthfully, I was shocked but did not care because the food was so delicious. We had the schnitzel and the duck. If you go, speak French!
