Surprise tasting. An unobtrusive door from the street we walked right past it initially. The place has 12 tables and a small bar at the back. Soft smooth mixture of different music playing in the background. We arrived at 7pm by 730 the place was filling up. Service was professional and friendly. The food was quite delicious. First wine was a Sauvignon Blanc. Second wine was a Chardonnay. Both went perfectly with the courses. The third course was langoustine with anise foam infused with heads of the langoustine. Spectacular. The spacing of the courses and the wines was perfect. The bathrooms were used and they were clean and well stocked. Amuse bouche, asparagus, langoustine, cod, veal. The food was perfectly balanced and every bite was savored. Kiwi mouse with white chocolate. Very fluffy and light. Sorry I missed the pic. We skipped the cheese course at the end. One of the best meals we have ever had. Mark & Nancy.

If you're looking for a Michelin restaurant that won't break the bank definitely try Influences. You'll have to take a bit of a chance not knowing what's on the menu because it's a surprise menu that changes all the time. But you won't be unpleasantly surprised at the cost- less than EUR 100 for a tasting menu which is much less than other similarly rated places. And the staff, particularly Keveena, add to the experience. Most dishes were good but the guinea fowl was particularly exceptional.

Ambiance here was great. The food was good, reflective of the price. And the service was good as well. The plating of each dish was beautiful, but the taste of the food was just ok. Not something, I would crave again. However, I am still glad I got to experience the prix fixe menu and paired each plate with their wines.

    Apres dessert.

Happened to make a reservation before our trip and thank goodness we did. What a absolute treat! The menu is a surprise and surprise is it did. All of the courses were wonderfully presented and combined tastes that amazed us. Everything was prepared by a chef who really puts thought into his food. We enjoyed every bite. Be adventurous and have a meal here.

For entrees, the citrus watermelon tataki was amazing as was the flame burned mackerel. Les Plats: The roasted trout and peanut smoked guinea fowl were exceptionally delicious. The desserts were incredible - we had the madagascar dark chocolate ganache and the meringue dome with marjoram and white chocolate. Arcada was one of the best meals we had in France. Best of all, my friend is a very picky eater, and she loved it!

You definitely need a reservation as they did have to turn people away without one. The restaurant is a bit in an odd location on a somewhat empty street. Also this is weird, but the floor slopes downward and isn't flat which made me personally feel uncomfortable to be at an angle (I have motion sickness and this felt weird). I'm know not everyone is bothered by that but I would've liked to have known before choosing this place. Otherwise it's very nice and romantic inside. The price is excellent at 49 euros for three courses. The food was very good but I will say that it looked better than it tasted. We enjoyed it but we weren't convinced that it is the top restaurant in Bordeaux as listed on trip advisor. For the price it was good.

Sitting in a narrow alleyway, Melodie is a small, cozy French bistro turning out a prix fixe menu…read moreof homemade dishes made with seasonal ingredients! There were only four selections for each of the courses, so the care put into every plate was extremely apparent. For our starters, I tried the Salmon Ceviche, made of chunks of tender raw salmon in an acidic marinade, tossed with fennel and pickled red onions, which added a nice crunch. I also had the highly-recommended roasted Saint-Nectaire cheese topped with bacon--this was a warm, hearty, generous portion of decadent melted cheese served with croutons, and the bacon added a nice smokey, umami flavor! And then it was onto the mains. The salmon fillet was perfectly cooked and tender on the inside with crispy, seasoned skin on top. The fish was served over a risotto made with parmesan and beurre blanc sauce, but the rice turned out a bit on the mushy side for me. The Bavette steak served with bordelaise sauce and roasted new potatoes was definitely a hit--the thin steak was so juicy and tender, and the mini potatoes were soft and perfectly seasoned. Two amazing main dishes! And what's a meal without dessert? The classic tiramisu had a bitter flavor from the coffee and cocoa dusting on top, balanced off by the lightness of the mascarpone cheese and whipping cream. The dessert of strawberries with Chantilly cream was made of a cup of sliced strawberries in a light syrup, served with a dollop of whipped cream on the side, along with powder sugar and crushed nuts for decoration. The strawberries were a bit on the sour side (perhaps still early in the season) but paired deliciously with the airy whipped cream to make for a nice, light finish to the meal! For the 20 Euro price tag, this set menu was an absolute steal, and the service here was so quick and friendly too!
