The 8 course meal ended up to be around 10 or 11 courses with the complimentary dishes. It was better than I had ever imagined. I expected the food to be very rich, and it was, but there was always something so fresh and clean that just cut through the richness and left you wanting more. The service was perfect! The ambiance was romantic and comforting. Thank you so much for the experience!

The service here is professional, friendly and attentive, and the restaurant's atmosphere is very welcoming. Bottom line: The food here is a delicious example of just how good Zurich's cuisine can be; the ingredients are all very high quality, and the service is 2nd to none - highly recommended!

I visited this restaurant fir dinner (alone, business trip)…read more I was very disapointed. I ordered a soup and a traditional Swiss dish called "Älpler Makkaroni". I didn' expext the Älpler Makkaroni to be as good as in the Swiss Alps (it's a traditional dish from the mountaineous regions of Switzerland) because we are in Zürich. In my opinion, the dish was very tasteless and looked as it comes out of the box (convenience). The price was over the top, 27 Swiss Franc. The soup was for sure not a convenience product but was tasteless nevertheless. I know Zürich is an expensive place, but in many restaurants you get at least good quality. Would I recomende restarant "Le Muh" in Swissotel Zürich Oerlikon: No definitively not. Save your money. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Unfortunately great things is not what I got. Instead I got very overpriced, below average food. I ordered the veal cutlet which was 42 CHF which is $47 and 3/4ths of the plate was essentially fried potatoes. You might think I'm exaggerating, but I implore you to check the picture. In the US any $47 meat dish would be 3/4th meat, 1/4th potato. Yes I understand it's some kind of traditional Swiss Rösti, but it tastes like fried potatoes. In fact I could only eat a little bit of it because it started to bother my stomach. The veal cutlet itself was decent. It could've been more tender and the flavor was decent. Nothing special and certainly not worth 47 CHF. I will give credit where credit is due though. The two cherry tomatoes included with the dish were quite exceptional. They were literally bursting with flavor and very fresh. I could've eaten ten more. This was unfortunately the exception. The chocolate lava cake was quite good. Perhaps the best chocolate lava cake I've had so far in my 4 month stint in Europe. It was very chocolatey and the middle had that chocolate oomph you'd expect from a top chocolate producer like Switzerland. Overall I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you enjoy getting fleeced. Price is usually not such a sticking point for me, but I was just so shocked by the $47 plate that was mostly potatoes. Save your tastebuds and your wallet and look else where.

A big plus is the frequent shuttle service to and from airport. A minor con (not for the hotel but for the location) is that it's a bit of a trek to the city specifically if you are planning to take public transport. It requires you to change two trains and the station is about 10 mins walk from the hotel. Proximity to station may be your key consideration if you are buying a swiss pass. We also rented a car for half of our trip. Incase you are planning to do so, they have parking available for $29/night. It's a good option if you're looking for a basic option and don't mind the walk to the train station.

I ordered from the ala carte. We didn't have a reservation for lunch, but they warmly welcomed us to the upper dining area. There was a very large tour group seated in the lower front part near the stage. The lovely show announcer asked us where we were from (USA), and told us that we arrived just in time to see their show. Yay! There were people of all nationalities enjoying their hospitality. Our server (Linda) arrived shortly after that with our menus. She was great! We ordered a big bottle of still water for our drinks. I just had to try the traditional Fritschi Pastete from Kreyenbühl Bakery while my husband ordered the Pork Cordon Bleu. All the menus around town were heavy on veal. My husband was happy to see "schweins" on this menu. Everything was good! Honestly, I could have done without the ring of rice. I would have been happier with some veggies or boiled potatoes. The rice around the pastete wasn't that good, but I guess it's there to soak up the sauce that flows out of the pastry. The size of the whole dish was a bit overwhelming. In retrospect, I should have ordered something lighter. I was barely able to eat half of it. It was a very large portion. The meat (veal) & sauce was gamey. Most people love that. It's a Swiss tradition. The boozy raisins served with it was a treat. Let's just say it was a good food exploration. My husband really liked the creamy mountain cheese in his Cordon Bleu, as well as the crispy fries. The best part was the Folklore Show. This is what draws everyone here. It may seem touristy to some, but I found it to be very cultural. I honestly don't get the lower reviews for this place. Why did you even pick this restaurant if you don't like seeing traditional Swiss culture? It was a great performance! It was cool to hear the music and sounds of the Alps. This included the Alphorn music as well as yodeling. I loved it! It was also interactive. They brought up volunteers to the stage to blow into the alphorn, and to dance with them. We would have stayed longer but we had to get back to sightseeing. There's never enough time in the day to do everything. I totally recommend a visit if you're looking for traditional Swiss food & culture. There's raclette and fondue dishes including Fondue Chinoise (or Hot Pot). There are vegetarian offerings as well as a full bar of drinks. It's a cool & clean atmosphere. A very enjoyable experience!
