From the outside, it may look a bit unassuming--certainly not "high-end"--and the menus are quite basic. However, if you can look past that, you'll discover a place serving truly delicious and authentic North African cuisine. The owners themselves handle the service with great attention to detail. A particularly charming highlight was the owner's joy and enthusiasm; he even sang while serving tables, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that felt like dining with family. We tried the lamb couscous and chicken couscous, both served with fresh vegetables. The portions were generous, well-prepared, flavorful, and reasonably priced. We are giving 3 stars, since 4 and 5 stars we'll keep for other, more high end sophisticated restaurants. But for a well priced lunch, excellent food and great ambiance... this is a 5 stars

The couscous with mixed grilled meat (lamb, sausage beef) and veggies was a bit bland for my liking. The sausage was delicious. I think adding veggies and lemons to the couscous would add some flavor. The chicken stew with olives, lemons and veggies was delightful. Nice to have authentic ethnic options in quaint Colmar. Great service!

I have to say that this was my favorite meal in Lucerne. Oh my goodness!! Our tour guide highly…read morerecommended it. I'm not sure that I would have seen it had it not been for Chris. It's quite the hidden gem. First of all, the rustic and unpretentious ambiance hit all the right notes. I mean, I couldn't have asked for a better lunch setting. Although, Lucerne is full of beautiful outdoor terrace scenery. This one was by and far the best indoor scenery. Seriously! Just look at the pictures. The 4 course pasta lunch was exactly what I wanted in a Swiss Italian meal. It's all served family style. There were 3 of us. We started with the soup & salad. It was a delicious seasonal pumpkin cream soup. She told us what was in it, but I totally forgot. It was also well-presented in a white soup tureen. The salad was equally as wonderful. I love the salad & dressing here! The quality fresh ingredients including pumpkin seeds (for Autumn) and croutons with that tasty homemade dressing is out of this world. I would have been happy & satisfied with just the soup & salad alone. The pasta dish came out not too long after the starters. Wow! Honestly, I thought the Pasta Amatriciana was better than any pasta dish I've had in Italy. I don't normally make statements like that. I just love the simple sauces made from fresh crushed tomatoes. This one had cured pork cheek in the sauce. Our server did tell us, but I don't think he heard that part. I was surprised that my husband didn't notice it. I still haven't told him because I'm not sure what he would think of that. Haha! We loved it! At the end, we had our choice of dessert. I think he had the tiramisu, and I selected the apricot mango one. It was a great ending. I also have to say that the Eichhof beer was light & refreshing, as well as the pitcher of naturally infused water. It's the little things that make me happy. There is an extensive wine menu as well. To be honest, I didn't see the rest of the menu. I think it's a daily fixed menu anyway. We were set on either the Pasta or Business (meat) lunch based on recommendations. We're glad we listened. The service was exceptional. Every course was proudly explained. Our server was friendly & professional. The atmosphere was amazing! The only thing you might regret is the price. But, I'm here to tell you that it's like that everywhere in Switzerland. Just get over it, and enjoy the meal. Take that advice for what it's worth. Seek this place out if you happen to be staying in Lucerne. We have no regrets whatsoever.

We had reservations in advance so I'd recommend them on the weekend - it was Easter weekend for us…read more I only imagine this place is just as beautiful when the weather is nicer out. Ambiance is rustic - good for groups of 8 or less or even just two people. Warm and cozy space as if you were at home. It was a set menu with salad/soup, pasta, main and dessert and/or cheese for dinner. I loved the fact that it was family style. So I maybe wouldn't choose this place if you have picky eaters. The salad was fantastic. Loved the dressing. The soup for me was the selling point. We had a root vegetable soup that was aromatic, creamy, a slight kick. The pasta was a Bolognese where I loved the chilis that they added. For the main, they were serving veal on a risotto and carrots. The meat was tender and flavorful. The chocolate mousse was rich, creamy and the creme balanced out the sweetness. Now, my group finished eating and decided we'd come back for lunch a few days later because the menu is never the same. Lunch is a little different with dinner as you can choose either pasta or the business lunch. We opted to do two servings of business lunch and one of the pasta so we could recreate the similar family-esque dinner style. We had a potato soup with salmon bits for lunch. Next was a pesto pasta with garlic and ricotta cheese. Not that the Bolognese wasn't good, but I loved this pasta. So fresh, and the flavors melded so well. We had a beef cut with purple rice and veggies. I loved the Char on this cut of meat. And lastly for dessert, I had panna cotta with a rhubarb compote that was so creamy, not overly sweet and had maybe a twist with a hint of cinnamon? You really can't go wrong here. If I came back to Lucerne, I'd be back here! Service was stellar-we actually had the same waitress for both meal services and was phenomenal. She gave great wine recommendations.

Now I couldn't find it on my Apple Maps, but I was able to stumble across it. I got the margarita pizza, it was a very good Italian pizza. When we arrived, the place was full, so make a reservation. We were greeted with a prosecco as we waited a minute or two for our table to be ready. This was the real deal. The staff appeared and sounded quintessentially Italian, the clay oven was in plain sight, and did the place ever smell delicious!  Shortly after being seated, I noticed the restaurant had framed certificates noting they'd been awarded the world championship awards multiple times since the 2000s. At that moment it occurred to me that we might very well actually be in for the world's best pizza. We ordered four different pizzas and split them four ways, giving us all a chance to taste a bit of everything. My favourites were the prosciutto & mushroom pizza, though their award winning special was notably the hit at our table. Truthfully, I don't have anything bad to say about any of the pizzas. The toppings were incredibly fresh and I can only assume directly from Italy.  I mean, it was the best pizza I've ever had. I highly recommend if you are in or near Zurich. It's definitely pricey by North American standards (Approx. 30 Francs per pizza), but the quality did not disappoint.
