I found this place on Yelp and was happy to know it was just a short walk from the hotel we had booked. It looked like the reviews were good from both tourists and locals alike, so I figured we should check it out. My German half-brother-in-law and I both ordered the Schnitzel, and he actually said it was very well done and one of the best ones he's ever had, which I think says a lot!! My husband got the pork knuckle which was really just way too much food, but he enjoyed it thoroughly. The servers were very kind and helpful, and although we sat outside because the weather was nice and there was no air-conditioning indoors, I got to walk through the restaurant to access the salad bar and was surprised to see how nicely decorated it was inside. We were looking for a German restaurant while staying in Bremen. This place was a block from our hotel and the reviews looked good. Yelp steered us correctly. There were five of us and we all got something different. We shared among the group and there were no disappointments. Great schnitzel, delicious currywurst, a very interesting and yummy German meatloaf and the best spaetzl I've ever had. We enjoyed it enough we went back the next night. Our waitresses were great! We arrived in Bremen at a really awkward time and all the area restaurants were on a break between lunch and dinner. This was open and the staff was very nice. The food was great for what it is. We had the schnitzel, nurembergers, an omelet and pan fish. We sat outside so they really can't be held accountable for the view of the hellscape that is the train station. read more

This place has hidden entrance next to the hotel and across from the train station. I night I went I managed to get a table right away, but from my friends that went the next night the place was jammed and had a long wait time. The food was cooked well and they had a self serve salad bar. For authenticity, they have the decor. I would go back here again. read more

I love this place. I stopped in a couple times without a reservation. Not the smartest thing to do especially at Christmas time. Bremen is wonderful at Christmas with the city center turn into a gigantic Christmas market. I made my reservation online at their website. The atmosphere at the restaurant is outstanding. The server was great and very helpful. I had him select my meal between the pork knuckles and the schnitzel with mushrooms. I got the latter and it was great. The mushroom were cooked with onions and big chunks of bacon. It's a must stop. read more

The food was good as was the drinks!! The outdoor seating made for a nice people watching spot. It's located conveniently across from the main train station. The service is friendly and you even get a complimentary taste of peach schnapps at the end of your mea! I had a traditional German dish of noodles, cheese, and cabbage. Great spot for authentic German fare right in the center of town and across from the train station. This place was just as magical as Bremen! Great food and great decor to go along with it. Nice festive atmosphere. I had the wedding plate which came with all the delicious fixings and trimmings you would expect from traditional savory Bavarian style food. It even had sauerkraut which was hard to find during the time I visited. My friend was literally calling around all places to see if they had sauerkraut since she knew how much I loved it. This was the only place that still served it and in season. Apparently they have a spot where they cultivate and make it year round. It's quite rare to find good food in a hotel establishment but this place was recommended by a friend and did not disappoint at all. The service was equally as good, very friendly, they even throw in some peach Schnapps shots at the end of your meal. A must try when in Bremen! read more

Just like Grandma used to make...OMG the food is soooo good and the prices are reasonable. The waitstaff is supurb. A must visit when in Bremen Germany. Ate there the two nights while in Bremen. You will love it and if you drink alcohol their selection is extensive....plus for a thank you they give uou a shot of schnapps "for the road" it looked like people were pleased with it.
