Restaurant Depot on Copans has a wide variety of products. They offer fresh vegetables, seafood, frozen foods, drinks, wine, and many kitchen supplies. It is a good place to find many items in one location. However, there are some issues. At the entrance, there is a sign saying that flip-flops, Crocs, and high heels are not allowed. I was warned about my shoes by a woman at the entrance who did not look friendly, and it felt uncomfortable. But after going inside, I saw many people wearing flip-flops and Crocs, even on my recent visit, and no one said anything to them. That felt unfair. Also, the forklifts inside move very fast, so customers need to be careful. The restrooms are not very clean. Many times, there is only one cashier working, even on weekends when the store is very busy, which causes long waiting times. I was lucky today but the next person may not. Nearly lost my life by a 20mph forklift driver driving fast beeping the horn going down the isles very fast. I stepped out of the refrigeration area and the driver slammed on the break to avoid hitting me directly on my left side! I was 4 inches from be seriously injured or killed. Never said sorry just kept going. I spoke to the manager and pointed him out. Said he would speak to him. Home depot has killed many guests from the same thing. Now home depot closes off the isle when working. I would have never imagined going there today that I may have been dead or injured!! Before this a woman almost got hit and she had to run back to let the other forklift driver pass as he hit his horn over and over and over! So usually I get all my bulk buying from Costco/ BJ's. But since Restaurant Depot was doing temporary day passes for the public, I thought it was a great idea to get some bulk buying from here as well. There was no line outside to get in due to Covid 19 situation but check out did take a long time. And the other customers were not social distancing while waiting in line. So yes you will get impatient people who don't understand to stay alittle far from others. Anyways, this place is to be if you want a lot of things. Working remotely, I've been juicing everyday so I loved they had carrots, apples, oranges etc. basically whatever veggies and fruits I had in my list I was able to purchase. But in order to get such huge quantities I made sure my fridge was pretty much empty before going shopping. Also I really appreciate they have some halal frozen options like chicken tenders/nuggets etc. I eat only halal meat so this was a bonus for me to get some frozen snacks for Ramadan time. The people driving the fork lifts are manic, I once found someone sleeping in the bay behind a box of togo cups. The carts should just be picked up and used for scrap Metal, if you have strawberries or tomatoes be sure to secure them I had to pick up two boxes of the floor in the store and and again in the parking lot cause the carts shake so bad.. Everything is disorganized, and if you haven't gotten frustrated while shopping... The check out process is a nightmare. It always is but today's experience has me venting on Yelp in the parking lot. After the cashier Scolded me for not having my items organized she proceeded to talk about how she needed to go on break and huff and puffed all while talking rudely to her manager and whipped me in the eye with her long braids while she bent down to count something on my cart. I went and grabbed a box from outside to reorganize my items and sloppily tossed my small items in the box and threw a bag of oysters on top of my produce (cross contamination) even after I told her I would handle repacking the items she set to the side I wish i would have gotten her name but it was register 5 on weds Feb 16th around 3:00. She has long thin braids and big thick lashes that would have any Disney character jealous. I got a text in the process that I no longer needed something on my cart but purchased it anyways just to return it so I could get out of that nightmare line. Im a loyal customers of the other location on Davie, since is closer to my job and whenever I have to buy last minute things for the Restaurant its a 12 minute drive! I being helping my bosses on their other restaurants which are closer to this location so Im starting to come here, and might come more often! Overall the place is Clean, and mostly important their shelves are never empty! Its not as big and they don't carry as many products of the Location in Davie, but definitely you can shop for essentials for any food business! Oh my god is all I have to say about this location. I am very used to the restaurant depot in Davie and this is no where close. Every single isle in this location is so tight its uncomfortable. Try wheeling 20 cases of ketchup through 4ft wide isles while maneuvering a crappy cart around someone else with an equally crappy cart. It's ridiculous this place is even allowed to have that much product in such a small area. The produce section is equally as horrible. Everything is disorganized and so difficult to find. I love the restaurant depot in Davie and I could honestly say I would never go back to the one in pompano. The stress is just wearing off 3 days later. They don't give out much samples like BJs or Costco but they do carry more varieties of frozen foods since it caters to restaurants.
