Watch the sun set over the patio's infinity edge ocean view while eating good French food with friendly and accommodating service. What's not to like?
Food: The foie was excellent. The spring vegetable starter tasted straight off the vine, as it had better for €46. The special of the day, a Moroccan-style lamb, was needlessly heavy but otherwise as good as the best preparations to be found in Marrakech. Intermezzos left our bouches amused and pats de fruits sounded a bright final note when a full dessert would have been a bridge too far.
Drink: The gin fizz preparation didn't do it for me. Too austere, compared to the velvety, egg-heavy variety one finds in certain American living rooms around the holidays. Stick to le vin.
Logistics: There is no chance of eating here before a 10pm screening in Cannes. Even with the earliest seating, 7:30pm, you won't sink your teeth in starters before 8:15pm. So make a night of it, and if you arrive before 7pm, pick up a drink at the grill downstairs and take a self-guided tour of the grounds. read more
