Noordwijk is a beach vacay town, and like any beach vacay town, there is a main drag along said beach, full of overpriced restaurants with mediocre food. Restaurant De Botter is thankfully not one of them.
considering its location, the prices are quite fair, and the seafood is of good quality and cooked with care. the menu is extensive, and given its demographic, is in German, Dutch, and English. the friendly and attentive servers generally speak all three languages and are comfortable switching.
the mussels are fantastic, and the butterfish is a must-try. the sole is also quite good. the decent kids' menu reflects the idea that kids globally seem to like things that are fried...then again, don't most adults?
both the inside and outside seating is pleasant; you can just decide if you'd like to be part of the tourist scenery or not! read more
