I opted for the schnitzel cordon bleu because why not mix two cultures into one?! And with the factory a few kilometers down the road in Bitburg had to wash the meal down with a rather large glass of Bitburger beer. The beer was top notch. The meal was a bit overly salted including the fries that would've been fine without so much sodium. The flavor was ok but not the most memorable. We stopped by at opening (18H) and asked if we could make a reservation for a bit later as we wanted to explore the city a bit more. The owner with limited English told us no reservations, just come back. We did just that an hour later and he was able to seat the two of us. The owner suggested a great Riesling. This cafe was full but we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and efficient. Though my German is not great, the server was patient and we met in the middle as he spoke some English. I was a little confused at first but soon realized that you actually go inside to place your order and then they bring the food out to you. I ordered a glass of white wine and the shrimp salad.
