This place was so quaint, and the owner's wife was lovely. We ordered the Lamb Chops, Shrimp Appetizer, and Schnitzel. The lamb chops were divine, and so was the appetizer. We are not big on fried food, so the Schnitzel was interesting. The cranberry sauce it came with was amazing. We also love the spread they gave us with the warm bread basket. Super charming bistrot in the streets of cologne near the hauptbahnhof (central train station). I'm somewhat ashamed to admit I was so engrossed with the food that it took my non-German speaking self a while to recognize the theme of the restaurant - with pictures of famous bridges world wide, brücken means bridges. I had a lentil soup with halibut - the halibut was cooked extremely well, almost flaky tenderness. I live nearby and eat here frequently. Chef Gregory is Greek and brings a Mediterranean touch to his german fare. His food is a bit lighter and more flavorful than the usual german food I eat. He has excellent sources for fresh ingredients. A few weeks ago it was Galician beef. This week he's getting some beautiful fresh fish. Next week are Fine de Claire oysters (pre-order only). And he does all the standard items so well too. The restaurant is small and intimate, I feel like I'm visiting friends in their living room. It only seats about 20-25 so I recommend reservations, esp on weekends. It can be tough to get a table, I see him turn away so many people. Worth it. read more

This spot was so friendly and the food was delicious. We tried the quiche Lorraine, which was served with a fresh green salad complimented by kidney beans, slivered carrots, tomatoes, corn and a sweet dressing. It was a generous portion, and not expensive. My husband had a pork dish served with puréed potatoes and a cucumber salad. My friend chose the eggplant lasagne, which had eggplant in place of pasta, making it a low carb wonder. Her daughter had the pasta with ground meat, which I didn't sample, but she liked it, and it looked tasty. Lovely choice! read more

Stopped in after flying in from the U.S. The proprietor was very nice and explained the offerings for that day. Ended up with the pasta special which was delicious. We had a very nice, relaxing meal there. Our taxi driver couldn't future out where it was, so we had to show the map. read more

Great place. I normally detest dining alone but the Schnitzel Brucken was enough to keep me from dwelling on that. Very good. The bread and sour cream is also terrific. Topped off with a nice house Chardonnay that was a generous pour. Did I mention the good price? I think I just did. The waiter was NOT friendly at all! my mom was not comfortable with the weather so she ordered 2 glass of warm water, when we pay the bill she tried to ask for another one but the waiter mocked here I quote" why she can't order a pot of tea" and refuse to offer it, I was glad to pay if he charges us for hot water because I never ask it for free! Their attitude was just the opposite to what they try to describe on their first sheet menu, I strongly advise the owner to remove this page because they are not a "worm, friendly place" at all! read more
