Despite it being reasonably small and rather difficult to get a drink at times, there is a great atmosphere in Mollies! The DJ tends to play some cheesy tracks at times, it makes an ideal place for a girls night out, one that i have used for such purpose many times! With a large dance floor, and a pool table it is difficult to become bored in Mollies! Though if it does get too much for you, there is the walk through which takes you straight into Olivers which is a bit more relaxed over the weekend! The drinks are reasonably priced and there is no entrance fee at Mollies!

There's a nice, but small, outside patio area which is useful in the summer, and a good selection of drinks behind the bar. In recent years Mollies Bar has opened at the back of Olivers for Friday and Saturday night dancing and this has changed the vibe of the place a bit, I think - it's pulling in a younger crowd and can be a bit more noisy and jostly. I think Olivers now competes with Kais in the wine bar plus dancing stakes, and it does well.

It is pretty unusual as it has it's own brewery. As it brews its own beer it is great for real ale enthusiasts they do food at lunch time but not tried it so no idea what it is like. I can see why - it's got something of a Mediterranean vibe to it, with a little patio out the front, from which the sea is just about visible, and inside it's tiled, with a long hall style area and a few tables near the bar. It has its own brewery, as the owner is something of a beer geek apparently, and there's plenty of good spirits, good real ales, and a range of lagers to sup. Come the weekend it can become a bit of a squeeze, but unlike some places, this seemed to add to the atmosphere, which was by and large rather jovial. It even has a back entrance that makes you feel like you're stepping in (or out) of some kind of secret bar. I am a fan.

We had a drink and asked for a bottle of wine to be opened to breath and ordered our food which was the most expensive on the menu. At 8.30 'our table' was still not ready. It was admitted that they had had problems; you bet they did. We were offered the oft quoted seats next to the smelly toilets which were in a 'dead' corridor type area but refused. I went to search for another restaurant which took 5 minutes. We then paid the bill and left and went to the Old Marine hotel around the corner and were surprised at the good quality of the food and service at a much more reasonable price than Chives. My advicestay well clear of this place and its greedy proprietor who is only too ready to overbook and upset people. It looks like the Chives management have posted the positive reviews.

Drinks are served in plastic cups and this isn't to everyones taste, but they are decently priced and have a great range available. There are often special evenings hosted here including live bands and sports events such as football or boxing.

He said it was the first bar he found there when he moved and he just felt really comfortable/comforted by the atmosphere. I could almost instantly understand what he meant. The staff and the other patrons all interact together, sharing a joke, a wine recommendation, or a local story. The wine selection was diverse and delicious. I'm grateful my friend has such a place to call home and I can't wait to visit with him again.

The atmosphere in Kais is relaxed everyone is there because they want to have a good time, i have never seen any trouble there at all. The only downside i have ever found to Kais is that the dance floor is too small and it can be difficult to get served at the bar as there never seems to be enough staff to cope with the amount of customers that they have in there. But on the whole i really like Kais, though i would imagine it is very different during the daytime and i have only ever been in there on a Saturday night! There is no entry fee to get into Kai's, they do hold regular events and offers so keep a look out for them! Kais also have a food menu but i have never eaten there so i am unable to comment on that. The staff always seem to enjoy working there and it really does create a good atmosphere which helps you to enjoy your night out. If you are planning on a night out in Louth i would highly reccommend stopping off at Kais for a drink or 2!!

It's good that there are two bars, though, and the function room upstairs is excellent as well (they do full catering for functions and offer a disco). One particularly good feature of Kai's is the enclosed garden behind the conservatory, which makes al fresco eating very family-friendly in warm weather because the children are safe to run around. The conservatory is a particularly nice place to eat at any time of year because of its comfortable seating!

She was running around like crazy trying to do her job and so the service suffered. We sat for probably 10-15 min before she was able to come by for drinks. We had ask the chefs if there was anyone that could help us. Understandably the waitress was not in a good mood and therefore again service wasn't pleasant. We did order a drink and then moved on to another place that was properly staffed and hopefully going to have service with a smile or at least without a bad attitude. Haven't been back. Not saying wouldn't give it another shot, I'm sure we will, but we aren't pining to walk back through those doors.
