Despite it being reasonably small and rather difficult to get a drink at times, there is a great atmosphere in Mollies! The DJ tends to play some cheesy tracks at times, it makes an ideal place for a girls night out, one that i have used for such purpose many times! With a large dance floor, and a pool table it is difficult to become bored in Mollies! Though if it does get too much for you, there is the walk through which takes you straight into Olivers which is a bit more relaxed over the weekend! The drinks are reasonably priced and there is no entrance fee at Mollies!

There's a nice, but small, outside patio area which is useful in the summer, and a good selection of drinks behind the bar. In recent years Mollies Bar has opened at the back of Olivers for Friday and Saturday night dancing and this has changed the vibe of the place a bit, I think - it's pulling in a younger crowd and can be a bit more noisy and jostly. I think Olivers now competes with Kais in the wine bar plus dancing stakes, and it does well.

It is pretty unusual as it has it's own brewery. As it brews its own beer it is great for real ale enthusiasts they do food at lunch time but not tried it so no idea what it is like. I can see why - it's got something of a Mediterranean vibe to it, with a little patio out the front, from which the sea is just about visible, and inside it's tiled, with a long hall style area and a few tables near the bar. It has its own brewery, as the owner is something of a beer geek apparently, and there's plenty of good spirits, good real ales, and a range of lagers to sup. Come the weekend it can become a bit of a squeeze, but unlike some places, this seemed to add to the atmosphere, which was by and large rather jovial. It even has a back entrance that makes you feel like you're stepping in (or out) of some kind of secret bar. I am a fan.

The Nachos with pulled pork and brisket beef was devine. The horse shoe ham on the "Not the Ploughman's Platter" was melt in the mouth delicious. Good selection of wine - definitely recommend the Malbec. All very reasonably priced, with excellent service. Definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area!

The only issue I have had is that their card machine is a bit dodgy so can take a few attempts to get the payment through. Updating my review - with actually no significant update. There's not really anything to improve…read more This restaurant is my favourite in Wells (in Norfolk, actually). The ingredients are local, the menu is seasonal and the daily specials are well considered, fresh and all-round delightful. Though I don't drink, I understand the gin (and tonic) selection to be incredible. Whilst definitely not the cheapest place to eat locally, it is more than reasonable with the fresh, local ingredients and the skill obviously put into making them. Most recently I visited and between three of us sampled (read: devoured) some cod cheek tempura, scallops with an avocado purée, sesame tempura prawns, fish & chips and a double-serving of seafood chowder. These were mainly daily specials and so I had requested earlier in the day that they didn't run out of chowder for me. It honestly is the best thing ever. Saying that - as much as I adore chowder - the cod cheeks are amongst the best dishes I have ever tasted. The food is seasoned perfectly. Fresh locally caught fish & seafood, excellent quality and very good value - Lobster Sandwich with salad & kettle chips for £7, rollmops with salad for £6 (and too much to eat..) Lovely setting (if the weather is nice!) in a small courtyard behind the Golden Fleece pub, just off the harbour, a white building with blue tables and sheltered from the sea breeze.

I had my wedding reception there many years ago and it was great, the food was lovely and it was a nice friendly atmosphere around the place.
