Russian lunch platter
Meghan M.

Have eaten here twice, and have loved both times! We order the Armenian and the Russian lunch specials. A deal for $12. The food is great and tastes like home cooking, and generous portions. The pictures of the food don't do the flavor justice, even the plain white rice taste amazing. Highly recommend to stop by!!

Vegetarians -- they do have a yummy veg chili, the salads are mod-able & they have veggie patty options for their burgers. please know... this place is SUPER LOUD. I have to prepare myself when I come here & I also prepare my friends (which end up telling me they did not expect it to be THAT Loud, so heads up, it really is.) I usually enjoy the patio here because it is much more quiet (youre able to hear your friends talking to you) & thankfully, it's available, or I'm not sure I would come here. Also, telling your order to the bar tender means that she can't hear you either, which is super fun to just scream at each other back & forth if thats what you're into. They don't have my favorite IPA on draft, but they have some good options for beers. I do love that they carry local brews -- they have mostly STONE, Golden Road & like, one Firestone (which is usually what I prefer.) They have some cocktails, so for girlypops that prefer those, this is a pretty solid place for variety in drink styles & thereby groups of people. I'm not sure if they have a car park in the back, actually, I usually find street parking right away, & there is a crosswalk right near the business if needed.

Don't forget your wallet, as you're in the hundo range, per person, once that crisp napkin is placed in your lap. Worth it? Yes! A beautiful, beautiful restaurant with a classic (and classy) dining room, private rooms that look very cosy (and were all full when I stopped in for a birthday dinner), and a mile long bar with booths, tables and of course the bar. From the host/hostess stand to the servers to the runners, everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Valet and tons of street parking adjacent if you're not in heels. It's a steak house at its core, but do not sleep on the salmon -- super delicious and you're getting the omega-3 fatty acids for healthmaxxing. Robbie B tip: the happy hour. Reduced price wine glasses and small bites (but actually pretty big portions) of fancy bar food. Sliders, fries, mini lamb chops; it's a whole meal in there. Once we arrived the interior had a relaxed, easygoing vibe, modern but cozy, with stylish design touches that made the whole space feel welcoming and unhurried. Even the waiting area with it's low lit seating surrounded by book cases was really cool. My wife, my sister and I had a wonderful table near the fireplace in the center of the dining area. Nearby were draped booths that would be perfect for a more romantic evening. Our server was, Haley...she was incredible. Very personable, helpful and extremely professional. You'll be in good hands if you're lucky enough to get her! Then the food...Wow. My wife and my sister got the filet migons, watching my wife's euphoric reaction of taking her fist bite made my evening! Omg...thankfully, my wife let me try garlic fries that came with the filets, and they were the best I ever had! I got the Langostino Fettuccine...outstanding. You have to dig a little spicy, which I do...but the vodka cream sauce is the real highlight of this dish. For deserts we got the apple cobbler, the creme brulee and sticky toffee cake. All three were fantastic. But I preferred the cobbler and the toffee cake the most. We didn't get the Le Petit Gateau, their chocolate cake...but we decided to get one to go! HA...it's unbelievably rich and pretty tall and big. It's topped with candied wild cheries...it's two days later and we're still eating this yummy treat. All in all...I would recommend this for any occasion...wether you're looking for just a night out with solid service and great food, to a romantic evening. We got there around 6...but later on there was live music with these two gentlemen on guitars that really played perfect atmosphere music. You can't go wrong with a night out at Firefly!

We've been doing that for a few years now, so that should tell you something right there. Our order is fairly consistent: we each start with a mimosa that comes in a highball glass, so one is usually all we need. Next, we share an order of kimchi biscuits (you get two). So delicious! Packed full of kimchi, bacon and cheddar cheese, it's a nice combo of flavors that play well together. The interior is usually soft and warm, with a nice crunchy crust. Top that with a smatter of the cinnamon butter that it comes with...yum! Our choice of entree varies, anything from avocado toast, to their kale and seaweed salad or any of their other selections they have from their brunch/lunch menu. On this outing, my friend and I both opted for the bibimbap. I opted for the pork bulgogi while my friend got the chicken version. It comes with a generous amount of carrots, zucchini, shiitake mushrooms and bean sprouts, and is topped with a runny, sunny side up egg that serves as an excellent sauce when you mix everything together, along with the gochujang sauce. We upgraded and got it with brown rice in the hot stone bowl. Worth it! The regular bibimbap is good, but when you mix in the crunchy crust that comes from the bottom of the stone bowl, you get an additional texture that makes the dish really stand out. The flavors already come together nicely, and the crunchy bits just enhance the experience. For dessert, we like to share the "lemon pie", which is actually a scoop of lemon gelato that comes in a glass that also includes graham crackers, topped with toasted marshmallows. A nice way to end the meal. And the staff! We usually either have Justin or Ann as our server, but everyone there is super friendly and helpful. They are consistently good at checking up on you and making sure you have everything you need. Just another 5 star reason of why we keep coming back!

We grabbed two spots at the bar and had wonderful service from Francis and friends. It was greta to see their banter and Francis experimenting with some cocktails. Throughout the evening, I enjoyed the Szechuan Negroni ($20), though it could have had more of the sichuan kick to it, the Bitter Cowboy ($18), and a spicy mezcal-based 'bartender's choice' ($18). JIm G. enjoyed the What's Up Doc? ($18), whiuch was mezcal, aperol, carrot-shrub, and lime. The Cured Salmon Yaki Onigiri was tasty ($9/piece), with creme friache, red onion, dill, miso butter, and everythign spice. We also greatly enjoyed the infamous Wagyu Pastrami Quesadilla ($22). I decided to take myself out on a solo date after a stressful few weeks and had been really excited…read moreto try Oi Bar. It's super close to me, parking wasn't too difficult, and the space delivered immediately -- dim red lighting, cozy and moody, perfect for a night out solo. They had a Passover specials menu that looked amazing. I was tempted by the open-faced Hillel sandwich with matzo, wasabi butter, apple, wine reduction, and pine nuts. The smoked brisket with Coca-Cola curry also looked great when it came out for the couple next to me -- until I overheard them say the meat was tough and they sent it back. That helped me decide. I started with the freezer martini, ordered with both a twist and an olive. Clean, cold, and exactly what I wanted. I almost ordered a second. For my first dish I ordered the saag burrata -- Indian-spiced creamed spinach with burrata and grilled baguette. Fantastic. The burrata was cool and creamy, the spiced spinach underneath was warm and deeply flavorful. My only note was the bread -- three very thin slices felt skimpy for the amount of dip. A couple more would've balanced it perfectly. For my main I ordered the OG burger, mostly because I'm a horseradish lover and was excited about the horseradish crème fraîche. About two bites in I noticed it was extremely rare -- and I'm someone who appreciates medium rare, but this was beyond that. I let the server know, he handled it graciously, apologized, and had it remade quickly. I appreciated that. He also ended up comping it, which I genuinely wasn't expecting and went a long way. At that point I was finishing my martini and ready to head home, so I took the burger to go. The next day I reheated it -- bun on, everything still on it, minute and twenty seconds in direct heat. The outside was noticeably darker and crispier than the first one, clearly cooked harder this time. The flavors were there. I added a little hot sauce and it was working -- until I got to the middle. Still raw. Chewy in a way that wasn't medium rare, wasn't even close. As a chef I know what a burger should feel like after that much heat. The fact that it reheated to piping hot on the outside and was still raw in the center tells me the issue was in how it was formed or how thick it was packed -- and I have the pictures to prove it. I'll be honest -- it didn't stop me from wanting to go back. It just means I'm never ordering the burger again, which genuinely makes me sad because the flavor profile was there. The horseradish could've been punchier and the pickled onion more present, but the bones of the dish were good. It just couldn't execute consistently, twice. What I know is that OyBar has something. The creativity is real, the vibe is real, the saag burrata alone is worth the trip. I wish I tried out the the Oy burger with hoisin ketchup and Dijon -- that sounds more like what I was looking for. And I already told a friend we need to come back to share a few dishes because the menu feels like it's built for that. Highlights: Freezer martini, saag burrata, moody atmosphere, creative progressive menu, server handled a tough situation with genuine grace Could improve: Burger temperature consistency (twice is a pattern, not a mistake), bread portion with the burrata, stronger horseradish presence
