We chose an outside table, and a server quickly brought an umbrella to provide some shade. Next, we ordered drinks, and we took some time trying to pick what to have. I opted for the ghoulash and spaetzle, and my husband chose the schnitzel with fried potatoes. Because of the location, prices are a bit higher than what we have found elsewhere. Still, the portions were large. We were also brought rolls, patè, and pickles. The taste is the patè and pickles was very mild. We then received our order, and both dishes were very good. The ghoulash was a heavy pepper sauce, and the spaetzle were perfect to soak up the sauce and extremely tender beef. The schnitzel was huge and covered in sautéed onions and provolone cheese. The fried potatoes were ample, and the addition of some salt and ketchup made them even better. The entire meal was good, and the people watching was great! A historical gem from the not so distant past of Buenos Aires. Recently renovated and updated, the menu is quintessential New World German. Not so expensive and well condimented good size portions. A very nice surprise on an otherwise recovering downtown. Will definitely return. Very very good! read more
