We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

Our server surprised us with a complimentary "shot" of a very strong Czeck liqueur at the end of the meal. we had a grand time and hope you will too!!

Nonetheless, I entered and hope for an escape from the unforgiving sun on that day. The staff seated me at one of the booths and after I requested some information explaining the menu and what's popular, they were more than happy to assist. They even explained some local etiquette and so on which was perfect for a visitor like myself. I decided to try out their Pickled Cheese as an appetizer. The cheese, paired with the onion salad and bagel was great. I really didn't know if I was eating it correctly but still delicious. For the main course, my waiter recommended a Schnitzel with potato salad. Just to get it out of the way, but the potato salad was almost better than anything I've had in the United States. I thought we were doing it right until I spent one day in Prague. The Schnitzel was also delicious. Perfect with the salad, the provided a blend of flavor and substance I desperately needed. All in all, this place was a great experience in Prague. The staff could not have been anymore nicer as I left with an itinerary on what to do during my time in Prague. The food and service were great. Don't be fooled by the location and stop by if you're in Old Square.

It was the most expensive meal I had in Prague, and while the food was good, for these prices, I expect to either be really impressed by the food or to have particularly special service or ambiance. Because I didn't have a reservation, I was seated in the entry hallway; the ambiance may be a little nicer in the downstairs dining room. I had the spinach tagliatelle, tiramisu, and a lime iced tea. I thought the candied walnuts in the pasta were interesting and I really liked the dish. The tiramisu was good but not a standout, though I liked how the bitterness of the espresso came through. Lime iced tea was pretty sweet and more lime than tea, but it was nice even if it wasn't what I expected. If you don't care too much about prices, this is a good place, I just think there are comparatively good Italian restaurants at a better price if you go a little further from the major tourist areas.

Of course the bread itself was also delicious. Beef broth with marrow dumplings was delicious, vegetables were cut perfectly into tiny cubes, great umami depth of flavor. The sea bream was a generous portion, I don't always love spinach but I really enjoyed how they served the spinach, the fish had a crispy skin and was moist inside. Cucumber salad side dish seems so simple but perfectly executed. I guess it's how thinly they sliced the cucumber and the freshness of the cream. I love that they had a children's menu- we have eaten and many fine dining spots across Prague and this was the first we got a kids menu. The kids menu has Shnitzel with mashed potatoes and my kids absolutely scarfed it down. Also a generous portion, the chicken shnitzel was crispy and moist. The porcini souffle with mushroom stuffed gnocchi was a great vegetarian dish. Last but not least, we ordered 5 desserts to share and all were top notch. The passion fruit cake, strawberry cheesecake, poached pear, chocolate pyramid with sour cherry and dumplings with poppy seed ice cream and plum - all excellent. 5 star experience

Next Door seems to be affiliated with the Imperial restaurant next door. Both restaurants are featured in the Michelin guide with Next Door being Czech cuisine with a modern French influence. The foie gras was seared to perfection and served with some blood sausage, peas, and mushrooms. Excellent. Moved on to the wild duck breast wrapped in a pork sausage and it was tasty. As wild duck is gamier and leaner than farmed duck, the duck was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served inside a pork sausage. Presentation and portions were amazing. Opted for a side of broccoli and it was tasty! Staff throughout the meal were cordial.
