The mattress was outstanding, our room on the second floor was very quiet, the room was scrupulously clean, and the manager bent over backwards to make sure all of our needs were met. The view of Sedona's majestic rocks literally outside our door was absolutely stunning, and being in the Village of Oak Tree meant that we were only a five-minute drive to the parking lot for our hike this morning. And, later, with tired legs, I sat outside by the pool and read my book. We were also very close to a grocery store and lots of restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. When government gets something right it's worth applauding so here's to the City of Sedona, who…read moredefinitively answered the need for people to get to and from popular trailheads without having to worry about parking anywhere near them. The Sedona Shuttle is a free service that takes folks to and from a couple of designated (also free) parking lots to the trailheads of the most popular of Sedona's trails. It runs every 20 minutes and offers free bottled water to those about to embark on their hike. If I had anything negative to say about this service it would only be that the shuttles hold a limited number of people (about 20-25) so they do fill up, in which case you'll need to wait for the next shuttle.* In addition to the Sedona Shuttle the city also runs 2 other interesting shuttle services: Sedona Shuttle Connect (SSC) is on-request via app or phone (though nobody answered the phone when I tried that) which picks up and drops off riders at designated sites along a predetermine route. This proved useful when, not wanting to drive in the snow, I used the SSC to get from my hotel (Residence Inn) to downtown Sedona and back. The fee is $2 each way ($1/seniors) and with only a small exception I found this service quite useful. (When requesting a ride back, the app was not recognizing that I was on their route, despite the fact that I was. After moving around several times while retrying, I was able to summon my ride). Verde Shuttle, which I didn't use, operates more like a bus, with a route that takes you all over Sedona while also linking Sedona to Cottonwood. I was super-impressed with Sedona's public transport system. * Pro tip - Make sure everyone waiting to board is in an orderly line (yes, that falls on you) so that boarding happens in a way that's fair to those who have waited the longest.

When checking out I told them the issue and all lady said was that I called the wrong number. It's not the one on the paper. They don't know why that's there. It's the one on the door she said. I don't like feeling like I'm the problem when something went wrong at their hotel. I paid for a service and I think I should have received it or at least been compensated for my troubles or at least apologized that I wasn't called back or attempted to fix it . From the moment I arrived, the experience was frustrating. I was barely greeted by the front desk receptionist, who took a phone call during my check-in and rolled her eyes at the customer on the other end of the line. After a long check-in process just to get my key, I was then escorted to another desk where I was given a sales pitch about restaurants, coupons, and other things happening around town. I appreciate the information, but after traveling a long way with young children and looking forward to resting, I simply wanted to get to my room. Unfortunately, the room itself was the biggest disappointment. From the outside, the property is beautiful and the location is great. The pools, hot tubs, and clubhouse were a major reason I chose this property. Unfortunately, the excitement ended the moment I walked into the room. The room felt like it hadn't been meaningfully updated since the 1980s. The decor, appliances, countertops, flooring, window coverings, and overall condition were extremely dated and lacked any cohesive design. The low ceilings and dark, worn furnishings made the space feel dreary rather than relaxing. The bathroom had its own problems. The shower curtain was too short to contain the water, causing the bathroom floor to flood every time the shower was used. The shower also wouldn't properly convert to the tub function, making bathing my child extremely difficult. When I pulled out the beds for my children, there were essentially just springs beneath the bedding--you could feel them through the mattress. I immediately contacted my Airbnb host, and I was directed to the front office regarding a possible room change. I was offered that option the following day, after we had already spent the night in the room. At that point, I was exhausted from traveling with young children and simply wanted to leave. When I requested a refund for the unused night, I was refused because I had not personally gone to the front desk to request the solution. That response was incredibly frustrating. I had already contacted the host through Airbnb and was directed to the front office. Expecting me to physically go back downstairs--after traveling with young children and after already communicating the issue--felt unreasonable. And honestly, a room change wasn't really the point. The issue wasn't one small problem with one room. The entire room felt dark, dated, uncomfortable, and completely different from the bright, relaxing vacation space I believed I was booking. I chose this property because I wanted a comfortable place to unwind with my family. Instead, I left early simply because staying there was affecting my peace of mind. The refusal to refund an unused night after such a disappointing experience is ultimately what earned this property one star from me. If you're looking for a comfortable, updated, relaxing room, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
