We are so grateful and appreciative of the quality of the care and concern for their safety, their medical care and their quality of life. The clinical care has been excellent with access to the team when needed, ability to communicate with the care team via the Wellness director and obtain feedback when needed. The Housekeeping team and Maintenance team are always so kind and helpful and keep the community very clean and in working order. The social activities have provided my parents with joy and a sense of family. Recently the Christmas concert and holiday meals were tremendous. Family was invited and we joined our parents for their first Christmas day at their new home with a delicious dinner in the dining room. The meals are very nutritious and staff will bring their meals to the room in the event they are not feeling well or just returned from a doctor appointment. The leadership team and administrative staff are always available and will assist with any questions or concerns which is so comforting for our family that doesn't live locally. In summary, we are very grateful for the care provided to our parents from all staff at the Residence at Fitz Farm and would highly recommend this residence

This is my family's review regarding The Residence at Fitz Farm. We moved our mom into memory care…read moreon April 5th, 2024 and moved her out on July 27th, 2024. I am writing this review two months after the fact to give time to process all that occurred and give an honest review. About one month into Mom's stay, she showed me bruises that were obviously from a fall. She then stated it was because someone pushed her for going too slow. We totally dismissed our mom's account and figured she had fallen during the night. We thought to put a camera in her room since another resident also had one to see what we could do to help Mom. That same day, I inquired to Morgan, the Director of memory care, what had happened and when. She had bandaged Mom's cut, but found her with a Band-Aid already on and didn't know any other details. I followed up a week later, but Morgan had still had no information for me. Two weeks later, we found the entire front of my mom's lower leg was severely bruised. When I asked Morgan about this bruise, she was unaware of it. Mind you, my mother is in dementia care and gets help daily with dressing and bathing. No one saw this bruise? At this point I contacted Brandi, the Director of Fitz Farm, to express my concerns about mom's bruises with no explanations and no communication with us. Brandi was very concerned since all bruises must be reported to the state; she said she would follow up and get back in touch with me. A few days later Brandi called to say a worker had in fact been physically abusing our mom and that she was fired immediately. We were in shock. A few days later on a Sunday afternoon we placed the camera in Mom's room and planned to tell Brandi about it the next morning. We did not get a chance because Sunday night at 12:30 a.m., I found my mother was being abused by another worker. I got my mother safe and called Brandi Monday morning. She was horrified at the evidence the camera caught and again immediately fired the second worker. While I appreciate the speed with which they terminated the abusive workers, there was no follow up from Brandi or Morgan concerning my mother. Only when I asked for a meeting, did we get one on Thursday. They offered no tangible steps on how to help our mom. Moving a dementia patient is very hard on them so we did everything in our power to keep her at Fitz Farm. The physical abuse stopped, but the neglect started. Memory care was short staffed from two firings and one worker who quit that same week. One day I showed up at 5pm and mom was still in her pajamas with no hearing aids in; she is basically deaf without them. Another day I was there for five hours and no activities were done with the residents. My sister visited 1-2 times weekly also and only ever saw one activity over two months. The regular scene was residents in front of the TV with no stimulation. One of the nightshift workers actually brought her newborn baby on her shift. A new resident who was very functional moved in about a month after our mom. A worker made a comment that "we need to get him medicated so he's easier to manage." We do not blame the workers because they were understaffed and overworked. Morgan stated to me that she had been requesting more help especially someone for activities, but management told her no. We tried to make Fitz Farm work for our mother, but after two more months with no changes, we moved her to the Providence Place of Dover. We had to move our mother because she was still being abused through neglect at Fitz Farm. During the first week at Providence Place, we received more communication than the previous four months at Fitz Farm. I do not know about the other neighborhoods at Fitz Farm but I wholeheartedly advise you to not place your loved one in memory care there. The neglect is still going on and I am doing what I can to help the residents that are still there.

I had fractured my ankle and was sent there for rehab. The physical therapy that I received was how to get in and out of a car went up up and down a couple of steps I wish shown how to wash and dress myself in the sink we would order our breakfast lunch and dinner the night before the next day we might get what we ordered or we would get a surprise. I had a roommate she was incontinent. She rang the bell for the nurse to help her to the bathroom. She waited two hours. I was supposed to have my diabetes medicine with my breakfast. I was lucky if I got it by 11:00 AM I was supposed to have anabiotic's and stuff after dinner. I was lucky if I got them before 10 PM there was no schedule on when when you got your meds, they were like fly by night. I would not recommend this rehab to anyone. Don't get me wrong. There was some good nurses there and nurses assistance, but I still wouldn't recommend this rehab for anybody. I had to give it one star so I was able to complete my review.

Thinking about moving to Normandie Ridge/Asbury? You may want to think again. I have resided in…read moreNormandie Ridge Independent Living for 9 years, and it is amazing how the costs have increased. Our rent has gone up several hundred dollars(greater than $100), it costs four dollars ($4) to have a meal brought to the apartment, and transportation is thirty dollars per hour ($30). Did they tell you every appliance in your apartment will be new and not need repair? BS. These homes for the elderly should be investigated. In my opinion, they are a scam. Any oversight by the Methodist Church is questionable at best. I have been told that the religious front is misused for profit. This is a business, NOT a care home for the elderly- unless you are wealthy of course. The one day a week the Doctor is here, is only for two (2) hours and his staff needs lessons in courtesy. Do you still want to move here?

Good Evening Citizens,…read more I would like to tell you my experience when my Dear Mom was at the Barley Autumn House in East York.....The Barley house is really nicely decorated to look like a stately residence and my Mom liked it to begin with.. Then about 4 months in to her stay, some of her belongings started to disappear, like the money I would give to my Mom so that she could have spending money.. It always seemed when the housekeeping older scronny female came in my Mom's room, is when money and belonging just seemed to like vanish in to thin air, if you get what I am saying.....My Mom even saw her when the hose keeper did not think my Mom was watching. Karen the head nurse there was told and guess what they kept the house keeper on there, can you imagine a big money busineess there keeping a thief on to work there and to steal from the old and soon to die elderly people. Lastly, my Dear Mom developed a diabetic sore on her foot and guess what, 4 months went by and even the head nurse there at Barley did little to get my Mom to a Hospital for medical attention, it was ONLY when the Visiting Nurse arrived at the Barley place, was my Mom then taken to the Hospital for treatment. You would think that a head nurse would know her job a little better than that......I went to the Barley Autumn house to get my Mother's belongings and guess what I saw? I saw the head nurse named karen at Barley Autumn house in the front office socializing, then I saw her out side taking a smoke break at the designated smoke pit. Thank you for listening, A Daughter of A Very Beloved Mother and someone who actually cared,
