Woodcrest Villa is independent living, the "Mennonite Home" is assisted living and nursing care. Reasonably nice facility with some nice staff. The culture is quintessential Lancaster County Mennonite...cloistered with a limited viewpoint and an ineffective understanding of what it means to run a large facility and provide service. There is historically, and unfortunately, a high turnover of employees in the two facilities (independent living and long term care) on both sides of Harrisburg Pike. This issue predated the CoVid years. My family member once nicknamed them the "Mennonite Mafia" and he nailed it. While they encourage family advocacy, they are not equipped to handle it.... and there is a degree of retribution. There's lots of competition in Lancaster County, so be sure to check all your options for senior life care.

The staff is friendly and highly competent. We're thrilled and expect that it's not just the honeymoon period--it's the way they operate.

My mom was in independent care here at the age of 93 where she stayed for four years. It was nice…read moreinitially but as time passed the food became worse and the cleanings of her room happened less frequently. Many times the items listed on the weekly menu were not available. In June of 2026 my mom's condition quickly deteriorated and we had to move her to an assisted living arrangement. In speaking with several relatives of those who had been in HaH assisted and memory care, we were horrified with the personal experiences we heard: mother left to sit in urine-soaked recliner day after day, Med Tech not knowing proper insulin amount to administer, one resident fell four times in one week (eventually breaking her pelvis), son found his mother lying naked on the floor in her own urine, and a family member found medication in his mother's pants pocket that wasn't even prescribed for her. Perhaps the most egregious behavior was when the aides in memory care filmed residents WITHOUT their permission and posted them on TikTok. Obviously after hearing all of these experiences we moved my mother to a different facility with a great reputation. Please do not take a loved one to live here. It is not safe for them!

However my review was not a positive one either- experience not a happy one. My mother in law was a Charter Member, waited to move for months into independent care- she was there for about 7 months- not ONCE was her room cleaned by staff, meals totally inappropriate for seniors and scanty and tasteless, rude staff at front desk and management, other than one man. Her sliding door never able to slide close even in cold winter months- she became ill with COVID there and passed in Nursing home without us seeing her from Oct til her death in Jan. Poor communication and lack of empathy from staff. VERY disappointing for new residence, not like we visited prior on the West shore and their dining room and food. A sad choice for last days of life to be at Harmony. NOT RECOMMENDED
