Janet is not a counselor, she's not there to talk about your feelings or give you "homework" to make you feel better. She's there to manage your medication and ensure that it is working as it should. She's not a teddy bear, but she is friendly and professional and intelligent about what she does; I'll take that any day. I've found that Janet is not typically late and she expects you to be on time as well. If you are late, she reduces your appointment time so she's not late for the next patient. This is how it should be in my opinion, as I don't want my schedule mucked up because you couldn't be on time. If you're looking for someone who is simply amazing at what she does and who gets results, I highly recommend Janet Callahan.

In the end, while very emotional, I asked for some concrete details on future sessions and how it would be effective. This apparently offended her as she stood up and told me I could have her refer me to someone else and walked out. She didn't even give me a second to collect myself, shake my hand, or look me in the eye as she very quickly said bye. I was then forced to be in front of a group of strangers still crying while I paid my co pay. I was embarrassed and felt that someone who has been in this industry as long as Dr.Drake should understand why people want to know their treatment is going to be effective as it can be expensive and takes time out of their day. I left feeling guilty and hurt which is not how an individual should leave a therapy session. Dr. Drake if you don't enjoy your work do not push that onto clients/patients.

I'm not one to leave reviews but I want to spread awareness for people actually trying to get help. Don't go to mind 24/7. It's crazy because when you want to seek help for your mental health...how can places like this that are supposed to help...make your mental health worse!? I now suffer from PTSD because of them. When I started to write something (I won't call it a review) for Josefa, I wasn't ready. I wanted what I wrote to mean something and to reflect how I feel about the affect she's had on my life. So, I'll take a shot now, but I'm still not sure I can do her justice. Josefa is a truly gifted person. She not only had an almost immediate understanding of the person I was, but also a tremendous insight into 'why I was' and how I could be the person I wanted to be. It's interesting because I had visited a counselor on and off over many years, whom I thought was good. However, in just two coaching sessions with Josefa, I discovered things about myself that I had neither thought of nor discussed, previously. Over the course of working with Josefa for a few months, she helped me to better understand myself, which led to quite a change in the way I feel about myself and how I interact with the world around me. From session to session, she always was on top of what we had previously discussed and was familiar with issues that were currently affecting my life. And, she was always on point with suggestions on how to best handle situations. Furthermore, the suggestions were ones that I could carry forward with me to future issues. Does everything work out for me now exactly like I want it to... of course not. But, I can certainly handle things much better now than I previously could. It may sound like I was a basket-case prior to working with Josefa. I don't think that's the 'case', but I certainly had issues. I imagine I still do. But, now I have much more of an inner calm about myself and confidence in myself that I never had previously. Thank you, Josefa. You have made a tremendous difference in my life.

Kim is absolutely phenomenal and I couldn't recommend her more highly…read more Her knowledge of all aspects of health and medicine is exceptional- she is able to discuss both common and uncommon medical conditions across a range of areas extending well beyond mental health, and is equally knowledgable about the various medications used to treat said conditions. That said, as skilled as she is in numerous areas, she does have a particularly strong knowledge of medications used in the mental health field. Just as important as her knowledge and experience is her genuine compassion, warmth, understanding and ability to truly engage with patients. Kim is that rare combination of casual and professional- this she is able to make one feel at ease when discussing even the most awkward of subjects by creating a comfortable and relaxed setting, whilst at the same time fostering a true sense of security and confidence with her sense of professionalism.
