For some reason, this was never posted. The stay was in April 2024. The hotel is easily accessible from the interstate. The hotel parking lot seems a bit cramped but was more than sufficient and there was no cost which is always a plus. The area outside of the property, as well as the hotel common areas, show clear signs this is a well-traveled hotel. The staff member at check-in and all I interacted with during my visit were friendly and always willing to assist. The lady managing the breakfast area in the morning was exceptionally focused on ensuring all guests had everything they needed. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. As with the common areas, the room did show signs that the hotel was well-traveled. Maintenance had been in the room to complete some repairs and used some industrial adhesive to affix holders to the shower wall. It was an overpowering smell, perhaps something to consider in the future when assigning rooms. I would have no problem staying here again if I find myself in the area. read more

This hotel was terrible. Upon entering my room and washing my hands, I grab a towel to dry them off and the towel was dirty and sained. I also found a necklace laying on the counter. The floors in both bathrooms where dirty and the table in the living room was dirty. Also the complimentary breakfast was nothing, but sugar and unnatural processed food. read more

I was in town on business and stayed at this location bc many of my colleagues were staying here. The place has a nice gigantic parking lot that's attached to the neighboring Marriott hotel. Inside is very clean with pretty serious Covid protocols. My door was sealed with a sticker after it was cleaned from the prior guests stay. All the dishes and silverware were in the dishwasher cleaned and also sealed from the prior guests stay. Nice big rooms and the ac got nice and low. Staff was nice and helpful. Nice outside patio where people gathered most nights I was in town to eat and socialize. Great location to any food or entertainment you could need. I will definitely stay here again in the future. read more

We enjoyed the location because it was close to the wedding venue but upon using wash cloths in the room, my face has broken out severely, My spouse and I have very sensitive skin and for me this is a tell tell sign of uncleanliness due to our faces breaking out. Clean sheets! The rooms are spacious and homey. They offer a military/government rate that really cuts down the price. Stayed 2 weeks and I don't have any complaints. Pros: - Breakfast is well stocked and changes slightly everyday. Nothing fancy but gets the job done. - Free parking and plenty of it. - Gym is tiny but there's an indoor swimming pool. - Very nice staff. Receptionist gave me a free entree coupon for TGI Fridays. Another receptionist gave me some bananas and yogurt when I came down 2 in the morning looking for food. - Quiet area but there's a plaza nearby (restaurants and a movie theatre) Cons: - Old hotel - Small elevator By no means hotel staff's fault, however their location on Google map was incorrect at the time I booked a room (it has been since corrected). I chose this hotel thinking there were restaurants across the street. However, the hotel was actually located a block away. Since I didn't have a means of transportation for the 2 weeks I stayed here, I had to WALK to restaurants in freezing temperature. read more

My fiancé, daughter, and I spent three months here as I traveled as a nurse. We had a great experience at this hotel. First, the staff is great and very helpful. Whenever we had an issue, they resolved it quickly! We had a few little minor issues, but nothing crazy! They have a nice breakfast in the morning that they make for you and box it up. The front desk staff is friendly and they know you by name. Pernell was especially kind as well as the night shift staff. The pool is a great amenity, and we enjoyed it often. The hot tub is closed due to social distancing. The outside sitting area seemed nice but we didn't utilize it. Overall, we would stay here again, but we would opt for a larger room with a full kitchen and more space! read more

We stayed here for about a month and a half! The staff is A1! I mean from the front desk to the housekeeping supervisor to the guys who work night. I call them the night brothers lol. Recently attended a family wedding in the area over Memorial Day weekend and was actually sent here due to an error in our reservation with a different Marriott hotel ( where the wedding guests were directed to stay). This colossal error was quickly and efficiently rectified by the general manager of the Residence Inn - Purnell. Despite being fully booked he had us checked in and in a room in a few moments time. We were able to freshen up and be ready for the wedding that afternoon. Kuddos to this GM and his staff for saving the day !! read more

Friendly front desk staff...only once did my 10 yr old run in front of a kitchen worker and she had a look on her face that wasn't so nice so she apologized and the lady didn't say anything. What do you expect? It's a kid friendly hotel right? CONS: The Jacuzzi had to be cleaned so by the time we got in it it was freezing (still heating up). You can pay for faster internet or it's free if you're a platinum or gold member, but even so don't try to download a t.v. show because it takes 2 hrs. streaming video wasn't too too bad. We brought our dogs so I'm sure we got an animal room which means everything was outdated except the t.v. dishwasher was from 1970 fridge 1970 and like the other reviews the beds are foam. Do not sleep on them if you have a bad back it kills! PROS: Breakfast was good, eggs, sausage, waffles, fruit, OJ, and it's free! I love that the one bedroom suite has w rooms actually closed off from eachother. The only hotel that allowed pets AND had an indoor pool, so overall THANK YOU IT WAS GREAT! read more

I stayed here for a month in Aug/Sep 2009. The staff was very helpful with all my needs. The location okay. There was a grocery store that I frequently went to about 3 blocks away. The rooms were clean and excellent. They had everything I needed to make this a pretty good temporary home. I really miss relaxing down by picnic area with my friends from Hawaii. We made great use of their public gas grill quite often during our stay there. read more

I stayed here the night before Easter got two rooms. It was a little stay cation with friends. I called a couple days ahead to see if we could use the pool before checking in. I spoke with Kim and she made a note and approved it. Kim was also there to check us in when we got there. She upgraded both of my rooms without me asking for it. This was super nice. All of the staff was super nice and friendly. Breakfast in the morning was great too. No issues with the rooms both nice and the comforts of home. I enjoyed the hotel so much I am staying again next week a night and again in August with friends. read more

This is my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in. Nice and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The salt water pool was great.

Clean hotel but making guests pay for coffee is ridiculous for what the room cost. Stayed 3 days. Had one cup of coffee in our room and told we had to pay to make coffee in our room. I guess we should have had daily maid service for a cup of coffee. 199 a night, so sad. read more

Let's start with I am a Marriott Rewards Member and always try to stay at a Marriott when traveling. I booked a room here online and prepaid my 529 Dollars to save a few dollars and for convenience sake. Then a snow storm was predicten d and my wife and I waited until the day before to cancel the reservation because our plans were to travel if possible and we did not want to cancel prematurely. The snow storm was now imminent so I made the decision and canceled the reservation online. I was sent a conformation and in my mind all was good until I received my credit card statement. I was bill the full 529 dollars and when I call the hotel the response was sorry but you prepaid and we do not refund for prepays. Then when I asked why I was not informed of this when I canceled the response was you should of seen that it was non refundable when you booked online. I said I did not think that it would of counted when an act of God was involved and he stated the manager was not budging and that I could call back later and talk to the manager, but for now he had no authority to refund the money. So much for Marriott being my hotel of choice. That 529 dollars will cost them much more if they decide to keep the money because my next step to to cancel my Marriott Rewards membership and my Marriott VISA. I went with Marriott because I believed that the customer service would be worth it and I am finding that they are no better than anyone else and now they are worse then most. I called the main number to Marriott and it starts out with a recording recognizing my name and acting like they are a personable company and then you on hold for over 10 minutes which was actually 13 minutes. My call resulted in Marriott saying they cannot force the hotel to refund my money and that they can open a case and ask them to refund the money. So until this is resolved it remains at 1 star. The company that owns that hotel is Loundon Hospitality and it seems crazy that a company would rather keep 529 that they did not earn then return it and not be intelligent enough to understand that they are losing a lot more then that in future business. Not to mention I am sure some of you who read this will look elsewhere and again money lost. Marriott on the other hand is guaranteed to lose over 529 with me because of all the traveling that I do. Example, three weeks before this stay I was in a Marriott in Frederick Md and the weekend before this stay I was in a Marriott in Virginia Beach. We stay in hotels anywhere from 12 to 16 times a year and just recently got a Marriott rewards card because I felt like I was letting to much in benefits go down the tubes by not committing to a hotel chain and earning some free nights. So Marriott you may not suffer because I am not spending money with you, but you won't see another dime of my money until it is resolved. read more

Was doing business in the area and needed a place to stay. Most of the regular hotels were booked so I stayed here. (Im a Marriott Rewards member). Ive stayed at RIs before and found this one nicely decorated, spacious and clean with a full kitchen and bath and flat screen TV. They also have free wifi, breakfast and evening snack. TVs have more channels than regular hotels. Like other RIs and long stay hotels, there's no restaurant or bar and therefore no room service, but plenty of things close by and a friendly staff to help you find things in the area. I usually pay more to stay at a regular Marriott where you have to pay heftily for everything (wifi 10$/day, 20$ for breakfast buffet, etc.), and this was a nice change. Ill definitely stay here again when I need to come back, even if its just for one night again. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights and it is a pleasant place. They have 2 bedroom suites and we needed the extra room. The living room furniture is not very comfortable and that's too bad as you tend to spend more time in the room at a suite hotel. They should have better sofa beds; this one was too low to the floor. Breakfast is the usual for hotels but nicely set up. One major complaint: Why don't they have regular half n half for the coffee? There were little coffee mates, a regular and a couple of flavors. But we don't like coffee mate. This is the first time I've ever seen a hotel not have regular half n half. We bought some from the supermarket nearby. There is a fantastic dog park, Ballenger Creek, about 2 miles from the hotel. The hotel allows dogs (for a fee). read more

We stayed at the Frederick Residence Inn as part of a block of rooms for a wedding we attended in Mt. Airy. The weather was inclement, with rain, and it was dark when we arrived. The problem with this hotel was we were not able to ascertain where the entrance was the first time around. The entrance is not clearly marked and there is no overhead area where you can unload your bags without being in the elements. We drove around to the other areas of the building, looking for a different entrance, to no avail. The lighting in the parking lot was not very well illuminated either. Once we got checked in we found the hotel to meet all of our requirements. The pool & whirlpool were well maintained, the breakfast bar ample, and they had a separate room with a pool table (with the table and all cue sticks in good condition), which was a nice addition. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We heard what sounded like an alarm or train horn throughout the night, which was unpleasant, but were informed it was a car alarm in the nearby Extended Stay parking lot and the management had contacted that hotel (with no apparent result). This was something the Residence Inn staff had limited control over so we don't blame them for the inconvenience. read more
