    Relaxing at the Inn Boonsboro
    Cory K.

Very nice Inn, the rooms are quite comfortable. My issue was the flowers are changed on Thursday's, so if you arrive on Wednesday the flowers will be dead. In addition and a very BIG problem is the food. Evening appetizers are a nice touch, until they aren't. We stayed 9/22 and were given a rotten fish spread. When I mentioned this I was offered a spinach dip that had the date of 9/1 on it, 3 weeks ago? This was unacceptable. When checking in we were asked if we drank coffee at breakfast, I found this weird as we were served chicken sausage, why not ask me if I eat pork sausage? Which I would have much rather had. My g/f loves to read, so she had wanted to go here for a few years so I took her for a quick birthday getaway, sadly there is not much to do nearby, other than the Nora Roberts book store across from the inn. When I brought this to the Inn Keeper I was offered a free night (weekday) or a $50 gift certificate to the book store. I paid close to $400 for the night, and I was almost poisoned. Such a shame as the Inn has been restored beautifully.

Yes, yes and more yes. I've read Nora Roberts books, so I kinda thought I knew what I was expecting. Nope. Even more beautiful than I imagined. We stayed in the Jane and Rochester suite. It was second floor on the backside. We could only stay for one night. Room=Amazing Seriously. Four poster king sized bed that you just sink into. Gas fireplace. TV. Beautiful antiques. Hardwood floors. The bed was amazing. Please note that it's lifted off the ground. The step stool is there for a reason. I'm short so, I couldn't just step off. But it was an amazing bed. Bathroom=Sweet Fancy Moses Amazing cooper soaking tub with a shower head nozzle thingy. Divine. Huge walk in shower with a rainfall shower head, hand held spray and 4 other jets. Easily fit like 4 people in there. Crazy. Beautiful sink. And a bidet. Seriously. The innkeeper had to explain all the buttons. There were a lot. I didn't think I'd like it. I was wrong. And did I mention the heated seats, floors and towel rack? Yep. Lots of "when we redo our bathroom I want it to look like this." Inn Amenities=Beyond Cool Library room with lots and lots of books from a variety of authors. Free scotch. Free computer usage and phone. Comfy chairs. Lounge room with TV and a nice selection of DVD's to watch there or in your room. Wine and cheese served everyday at 6 in the lounge. Wow. Great to chat with the other guests. And I forgot to mention the board games. Breakfast=Yummo On top of the fridge and kitchen being open and raidable 24 hours a day and the snacks and drinks that are always out. (Make sure to try the homemade scones and chocolate chip cookies.) Breakfast is served starting at 8am. You have your own table with your own carafe of coffee. On the sideboard is juice and hot tea. Breakfast starts with an appetizer of fresh melons with a raspberry sauce. The entree is buttermilk pancakes, bacon and a tomato and basil frittata. (At least that was yesterday.) Holy friggin cow. Amazing breakfast. And they serve you. Not a buffet thing. They really do want you to feel at home. Really. Anything you need, just ask. I'd done a little too much day drinking and wasn't feeling well. Asked for some tylenol. The innkeeper opens the storage room and there's every kind of over the counter pain med, nyquil, benadryl. You name it. Everyone was just so so very nice. We can't wait to go back for more than one night. My only complaint and this is truly minor and really just about me was that the hair dryer was on the dinky side. I've got a lot of think hair and this thing was tiny. I should've brought my own but given how awesome everything else is, I'd shell out for a nice hair dryer. Did I mention that EVERYTHING is covered in the price you pay? Yep. Every thing. Stay here. Seriously. A good home base for exploring the Antietam, Harper's Ferry, Boonsboro area.

We had such an amazing stay at Inn Boonsboro! You don't even have to be a Nora Roberts fan to love it here. It's a peaceful stay in a very quiet town (don't be looking for a bunch of stuff to do). This is a relax and hang out type of vacation. There are some winery's and local towns with some stuff to check out, so do your research before hand. Make sure to eat at the Pizza place, and the restaurant next door! We stayed in the Thin Man room which was so cool, highly curated with unique decorations. Very fun and special treat. Highly recommend!

After reading the Nora Robert's Trilogy we were pleasantly surprised to find the locations described in the books existed.

This B&B is located right in the heart of Harper's Ferry, giving walking access to stores, restaurants, and historic sights. Trains do come at all times of the night, so ear plugs are recommended (which would be needed anywhere in town!). Very much worth it!

Come for the railfanning, stay for the history…read more I first learned about Harpers Ferry, WV while sourcing stock footage for work. I came across the same clip in a rail safety ad, which made me look up directions to Harpers Ferry from DC. The historic park/town is served by the very MARC trains that pass outside my DC window each afternoon. You can describe Harpers Ferry as *deceptively* close because it's a 90 minute train ride, with planes flying into Dulles close enough to make out the airline. Looking for hotels there, Stonehouse Bed & Breakfast was the first that came up, with great reviews. Chris was very helpful and responsive via text and email. I booked the Top Room, which was $170 for a night including taxes. The quaint B&B has three accessible floors, as the family naturally lives onsite. The first floor is the main entrance with the common/dining areas, and the patio overlooking Maryland Heights and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers. The second floor has more rooms, one with a full balcony. And the third floor is the Top Room, with windows overlooking each side of the vintage building. If you Google pictures of Harpers Ferry, Stonehouse is in nearly all of the shots, since the balconies are front and center of the skyline. The town itself is like a real life snow globe. But the B&B, the litany of museums, eateries and shoppes around it, as well as the train station directly across the street make it an overall ideal place to stay, be it for hiking, or for something else: A love of trains is what brought me to Stonehouse, so take note that rail traffic can be heavy in certain times of the day. But the light rumbles also helped put me to sleep in the already soft, cozy bed. A container of water was provided, and while glasses should have been cleaned of dust first, it was still a really nice touch. The room also had playing cards, ear plugs, plenty books and a whole lounge chair. Checkin was a simple set of instructions at the door with my name on it, with checkout simply being your absence at the appropriate time. In my case, I only booked an overnight stay, getting in at 8pm and leaving around 6:30am, with checkout/checkin being the traditional 11am/4pm. While I didn't stay for complementary breakfast, I did catch a stellar sunrise between the mountains, as well as nature footage from the neighboring park. All of that to say, I definitely look to return to Stonehouse B&B later this year.

Onto the service, our server Danica was GREAT!! She explained everything on the menu, was quick to get our drinks and refills, as busy as it was she didn't rush us to order and talked to us. The food was delicious! I started with the French onion soup to start, it was great and topped with not only the cheese it had fried onions on top which gave it a nice crunch. I followed that up with Sauerbraten with a deep flavorful sauce, red cabbage and potato dumplings, Yummmmmm! After all that I gave in and ordered the apple strudel ala mode, very tasty, and a nice crust! Overall the whole experience was great! Worth the hour and a half ride. The Bavarian Inn is a must try, once you do you'll want to keep coming back. Enjoy!!
