Rooms - we had a two queen bed room. Great blackout blinds, small fridge, lots of outlets/charging spots. Appreciate the soap/shampoo/conditioner supplied in the bulk containers. My hair struggles with most hotel shampoo/conditioner, but the kind supplied here was one of the better! If you login to your Netflix, appreciated it said it would log out upon checkout. Also appreciated digital tip option! Easy QR code instead of cash because frankly I very rarely have cash these days. Beds were comfy, pillows not so much, super mushy - but for one night okay. The biggest downside was being woke up on a Saturday morning (7AM) by the loudest TV from a room next to us. You could basically hear word for word through the wall. If the AC was running, it definitely helped drown it out, but we couldn't fall back asleep. We were tempted to call the front desk to ask if they may turn it down, but decided against it. I think the people next to us just had their TV blasting because we couldn't fall hear anything else during our time there. Breakfast was good- I see other reviews didn't speak highly of it, but it's a typical hotel breakfast and thought it was quite adequate. Yogurt and oatmeal with different toppings, four kinds of cereal, egg bites, sausage, hard boiled eggs (in the shell), toast/bagels, and self making pancake machine that was pretty cool to watch. Also had apples and oranges available. The gym was one of the better "small" gyms I've seen! Great free weights, medicine balls, mats, box steps, TRX bands, a peloton, nice treadmills! They have wipes and right outside is a water refill station along with ice and ice buckets. I noticed there is a laundry room on the first floor too, so a nice option if you need it. All employees I interacted with were friendly and professional. This is conveniently located to several restaurants and stores - Walmart if walking distance. I'd have no hesitation staying here again.

She booked it weeks in advance and it seemed to be one of the better hotels in the area plus the price was great and they offered free continental breakfast. Upon arrival I noticed the hotel was newer and had plenty of parking in the front and the back. They also have a nice little area to sit outside in the back to eat, smoke, vape, chat, have a beer, or what not. The lobby was very vibey and colorful and they have beers and wines for purchase as well as snacks and frozen foods, but having a pool table there is probably not the best idea for a hotel as some of the guests were annoying and obnoxious. The room was nice, the tv was a good size, the bed was very comfy, the pillows were not great, but the shower was nice and had amazing water pressure. I thinks it's a nice place but could be way better with more professional employees. Every time I walked by or went to the front desk to ask a question they were either in the office on their phone or behind the desk on their phone. Also, they weren't the friendliest either. The free breakfast is pretty much a joke. I've had better breakfast at a dirty gas station. It's obviously edible and will do the job, but it's not very good in any regards. It's nothing like other Hilton's I've stayed at over the years. It's very very minimal and simplistic but not in a good way. The eggs tasted like cardboard and the bread selection was sorta nasty. They didn't have much else to offer besides some nasty looking sausage. Btw, they do have pretty good coffee that is available 24/7 at a little station by the front desk. It was also sorta loud at times due to guests and we stayed in a room on the first floor at the end. All-in-all I'd rate this place about a 2.5 because the hotel was nice and clean and it was definitely decorated very vibey. FYI: it's in what seemed to be busy area with a Walmart right beside it as well as other hotels, restaurants, and shopping centers. I witnessed a lot of cars using the parking lot as a short cut to the road literally 100 ft away because they didn't want to wait at the stop sign. So if you have kids be careful because they were flying through the lot. The price was great considering and since we are rarely in the room when we travel we thought we'd give this Tru a chance since we'd never stayed at one before. Would I stay here again, probably not. With all that being said the sous chef, Jen was absolutely amazing!! Extremely friendly and accommodating. We had a party of 11 ladies and she had her hands full with us yet she handled everything perfectly. We also had our wine tour guide Paul and he was awesome. While we might have…read morereviewed the 1799 Inn where we stayed (one of their properties) it's more relevant to review them and their customer service. I almost never write a negative review but prefer to reach out to management. We made the best effort in that regard, but given the response, I have decided to share our experience. I will share the communication with the owners that was sent after we checked out. "Our first visit to Harper's Ferry was memorable. The best part of our stay was seeing old friends from Virginia and California. The location was very convenient to meet an old high school friend at Harper's Ferry Brewing and other friends came from Rockville to have lunch with us on Sunday at Snallygaster's. We dined at Rabbit Hole (our least favorite though the service was outstanding), Country Cafe, Kelly Farm Kitchen, and Battle Grounds Bakery. We also stopped in at Bolivar Bread Bakery where we purchased coffee for our room, pepperoni pretzel rolls and a loaf of bread to share with our family in Virginia. Many great stories to tell. It was nice to be able to walk to a few of the locations despite my hip disability and the free parking was certainly a bonus. Most of my professional career (and my husband's) has been in the tourism and hospitality industry. Hotels, restaurants, Mike was an innkeeper for more than 20 years, and I have spent more than 30 years traveling and writing about destinations. So, we have some experience. All that being said, Mike and I wanted to let you know that the 1799 Inn and the Ohio Suite did not meet our expectations. We don't know how long you've owned this property, but it looks like it's in need of a facelift. The staircase - clearly not part of the original house - should be replaced. I don't know what the building code is, but we tripped more than one. Very uneasy going up and down even for Mike who is quite active. There were cobwebs and dead bugs all over the main entrance. Also, cobwebs in our room. When we arrived and had trouble opening the door to our room - the keypad would not light-up for us to see - I called you and the phone went to voicemail. Fortunately, we finally figured it out and were able to get in. The baseboards in the bathroom are visibly dirty and in general the shower and sink looked as if they could use a more thorough cleaning perhaps with some chlorine-free bleach spray. The bed frame rails were also dusty. The rug in the bedroom should be replaced - worn and seems dirty. If you close the bathroom door, the rug blocks the door when you try to exit so we kept rolling it over to keep it out of the way. We took two wine glasses off the shelf and they were absolutely filthy - perhaps they hadn't been used in a long time and two of the white bowls which we took down for snacks, they were also dirty. There are photos attached of the wine glasses and some other issues mentioned above. The cyclists who arrived Saturday night remarked that there was no tea, coffee, or creamers in their room. We gave them the rest of our coffee pods, tea, sugar and creamers for which they were very thankful. We let the housekeeper know when we saw her on Sunday. We left the Ohio Suite clean and tidy before we departed on Sunday. And some updated visitor information publications that we picked up at the Jefferson County Welcome Center on the coffee table. I am not someone who ever writes a bad review on any social media platform. I will always let someone know either by email or phone. We hope you will take all of this as it is intended and that is to say your cleaning staff needs to do better. " The owner's email response included no apology. No, "we're sorry" this was your experience. She went on to say, " After researching the area and taking into consideration the type of guests most likely to stay downtown across from the noisy train station, the investors decided to create a budget friendly experience. (You were actually in the only suite with nice furniture). " So completely ignored our concerns even after we provided images to validate our points. We spoke by phone shortly after and I'm sorry to say I lost my temper. The owner deflected everything, was very disrespectful and then accused me of the same. Again, there was never any apology even though she claimed she had done so. Why hadn't I called to ask for someone to come and clean upon arrival? It was already late when we arrived and we didn't realize the problems until the next day. Regardless, the unit should have been throughly cleaned before. This all could have been easily resolved. We didn't ask for any money refunded - even though we paid a $45 cleaning fee and the unit was clearly less than clean. A simple apology was all we needed. There were some other issues, but time and space will not allow for me to go on here. We'll stay elsewhere if we ever get back to Harper's Ferry.

The hotel parking lot seems a bit cramped but was more than sufficient and there was no cost which is always a plus. The area outside of the property, as well as the hotel common areas, show clear signs this is a well-traveled hotel. The staff member at check-in and all I interacted with during my visit were friendly and always willing to assist. The lady managing the breakfast area in the morning was exceptionally focused on ensuring all guests had everything they needed. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. As with the common areas, the room did show signs that the hotel was well-traveled. Maintenance had been in the room to complete some repairs and used some industrial adhesive to affix holders to the shower wall. It was an overpowering smell, perhaps something to consider in the future when assigning rooms. I would have no problem staying here again if I find myself in the area.

The common area has a sitting room and a dining room with a giant patio that also looks out over the river. While we enjoyed our breakfast and chatted with an Argentinian couple, we got to watch bald eagles soar over the treetops. The owners were friendly but respectful of space and privacy. They asked about dietary restrictions and were happy to give suggestions about things to do in town and in the area. Things to know: there is parking available at the house but not really in town, and it's a hike down to the river and the historical things. Would be difficult for those with mobility issues or very small children. The walk through the cemetery and past Jefferson's rock is spectacular, but there's a more meandering way that uses roads/sidewalks if needed. We went on a Tuesday night in March, and nothing is open in the evening in Harper's Ferry proper. At the suggestion of the owner, we drove 15 minutes to Shepherdstown and had a lovely dinner at a cozy French restaurant on the main street in town. Next time we'll definitely leave more time to explore Shepherdstown as well - lots of interesting shops and restaurants on the main drag. We would definitely choose Ledge House again and recommend it to others.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Antietam for two nights in the Clara Barton Suite, and we had…read morea wonderful experience.  Will greeted us upon arrival, showed us to our room, and spent about ten minutes describing the local dining options in the surrounding towns.  The inn is an excellent base for exploring Antietam National Battlefield (it actually sits on a portion of the battlefield itself) and visiting nearby attractions, such as Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown.  Our room was comfortable, and the bathroom had been recently remodeled.  The property also features a lovely garden that attracts a wide variety of birds.  I especially enjoyed sitting on the porch with a good book while watching the birds.  It was incredibly relaxing.   The breakfast portion of this bed and breakfast exceeded our expectations.  Miriam's baking skills are truly exceptional!  The homemade pastries were always fresh and delicious, the coffee was excellent, and they happily accommodated our dietary needs.  They also go out of their way to source fresh, minimally processed ingredients for their meals, which we greatly appreciated.   The highlight of our stay, however, was getting to know Miriam, Will, and Hamish (the dog).  We genuinely enjoyed our conversations with them throughout our visit, and they made us feel less like hotel guests and more like friends or family visiting their home.  They are warm, engaging people, and we could easily imagine being friends with them.   Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.  The breakfast alone makes the Inn at Antietam worth the visit, but when you combine it with the beautiful house, peaceful setting, and genuinely welcoming hosts, it becomes an exceptional experience.  We would gladly stay here again and have already recommended it to a few people.

After getting to know what we wanted he recommended a room (the Edmonds suite) for us that was absolutely wonderful! When we arrived we spoke in person and he had a GREAT recommendation for dinner - The Press Room. Even though it was a MONDAY, he thought we should get reservations. I'm so HAPPY we followed his advice! The meal was wonderful and the ambiance great. (We also enjoyed his next recommendation- Bistro 112, for our Anniversary dinner) Then we met Miriam (another great conversation), and Hamish (the FRIENDLY dog). Over the next two mornings we ate a delicious breakfast with so much great food we skipped lunch both days! What a great visit! (I bet we stay again sometime)
