I struggle with Rescued Treasures. I absolutely love the Visalia Rescue Mission. However, the thrift store needs some tweaking. The staff? Amazing. The layout? Good. What they need, is a better pricing system. They have items individually colored and the colors are set for a discount or not. 4 colors, 2 of which are FULL PRICE and the other, 25% off, and then 50% off. They aren't doing it by the color by the discount and day and alternating which i believe creates a huge lack in product clear out and more sales profit. The books are also extremely pricey for being used. Again, they should do it similar to the other shops in town and alternate the discounts by the week. So this week, orange is 50% off, the following week it's blue, the following green, ETC. read more

The dump is more reliable. Would be very very helpful if their drop off hours on their own website were correct. Spent hours going through clothes and furniture. Loading it up into the trailer and driving over from Exeter only to be turned away. We checked their website first and made it around 3:15 on a Saturday. The guy in the forklift told us that the first Saturday of every month they are closed to drop offs. If it's something that is that scheduled then they really should update their hours. Also as just a kindness to your community I would have thought the 5 guys standing around doing nothing could have quickly helped us unload everything within a few minutes. Very disappointed and not worth the trouble of doing it all again. The dump has never turned anyone away during their open hours. read more

Can't say how much I love this place. Soooo many reasons. It's a huge, nicely organized thrift store. Things are well marked. Always stocked. Bargains. Plenty of shopping carts. The organization does spectacular work. Many of the people working there are re-learning who they are and getting back into life. Bonus: at the checkout, I can purchase meals for $2.50. I know that's where the money is going. And... if this isn't enough for you, they have an upscale boutique downtown on Main. It has pretty awesome things in it. Win-win-win read more

I used to shop here all the time. The employees are very nice but the selection for children's clothes has gone way down. They hardly have any for one thing and they don't bring out winter clothes when it's cold. They still had all summer clothes for kids. I noticed the price for jeans is really high too. Every week they have a certain color tag at 50 percent off but for some reason that color is never on the rack of clothes. I think they come and take away those items so people can't get the discount. read more

Used to be good. Did it change management. Hardly any clothing. No public restroom. Disorganized.

I've been going to here for years and lately when I go things change. one time I got clothes for my Granddaughter the sign says 0-5years $1 and when I went to pay they rang up $2.50 and I said what the sign said and the lady said well I have to go by what the register says so they need to take down signs. On senior Day 20% off but they it's on full price items which understandable but I was told it's only the full price yellow tags which defeats Senior Day. Those 2 encounters the ladies were very rude and it was my friends first time and she said she'll never go back. read more

I went in here because I needed some shoes and cant afford a brand new pair. I found a decent pair of slip on walking shoes. Couldn't find a price so I asked the cashier who was very nice how much. Thinking they would be about 6 or 7 dollars because they are used shoes. I was shocked when he said 12 bucks. Really? For used shoes that are not name brand and are dirty too. This place is ridiculous. Do they know whatbthrift store means? Also five dollars for used t-shirts. I might as well go to Walmart and get a brand new one for 4.25. I won't be back to this place again. They don't know how to price USED items. read more

My first complaint about this so called thrift store is the prices. They are very high considering everything is second hand. Also the cashier's are so slow. I stood in line almost thirty minutes and there were only 5 people ahead of me. I think it's time I took my business to a different thrift store. This used to be my favorite thrift store in town, even though their prices are on the higher end for a thrift store. However with the new remodel, it is not shopper friendly. Things are kept high on shelves, pictures and dresses are hung up on walls as opposed to being able to be browsed on racks. I've tried coming in and shopping a couple times since the remodel but will probably refrain from stopping in here for a while. read more

Came here looking for seasonal decorations and other home decor items . Wow ! What a shock , the prices here are outrageous! I looked at Halloween decorations some stuff was priced higher than at Walmart! I decided to look at Christmas decorations OMG found an item small tree Santa , price $5.61 ???? Really ??? It's broken and still asking for $5 ? Broken items priced at $3.61 $2.61 chipped , broken should be marked way down or broken throughout. Keep in mind Rescued Treasures . You are getting the items free . Other thrift stores that have over priced items go out of business. I have seen 3 of my favorite thrift stores go out of business in California. Sad read more

Every time I go into the store it is clean and organized. I never walk out empty-handed. Love the purse and wallet section. The basket section sometimes has some collectibles in, always has many useful baskets and wreaths. Clothing sections pretty good. Jean section great. Just love this store. read more

I have been donating to Goodwill for years so I decided to give a little love to my local thrift store, RT. Yesterday I stopped by the back door to drop off items. The sign said stay in your car and an attendant will come and get your items. So I sat and waited. I watched as NUMEROUS employees walked around in the back of the warehouse and several saw me... in particular one guy ... but all ignored me and did not come to help. Finally after waiting 7 minutes, I got out of the car and asked if I could drop my items in the outdoor bin. The one guy (attendant) stopped conversing with his co-workers and said no, I will come get them. So I got back in my car and he opened the back, grabbed my 3 bags and walked back in without a word. 1) Do your job, 2) Apologize to the customer for making them wait after looking right at them and ignoring them, while you shoot the breeze with your buds, 3) Be friendly and polite. Are these people all volunteers? That's the only thing I could think of as to why they all felt it was okay to stand around and talk on the job with someone waiting for help. This place might get all the donations in town because of the church affiliation and being local, but Goodwill has a much better system. I plan to go back there. Disappointed! read more

Thrift store that has some good deals and some things that are way over priced used. They do a weekly discount which is cool. But they also do deals and leave signs up to tell you what delas are going on. Then when you go to cash out they say sorry that sale ended but there's over 20 signs still out saying the sales going, so they try to charge you full price if you don't pay attention. And if there's an item that's not marked right they have to call a manager for help and it's a 50/50 shot if the manager even shows up or responds. Last but not least, if your going there just keep in mind the same items can be there for weeks, but they slowly put new items out. read more

RIP OFF. I paid $50 for a cedar chest, unfortunately I had circumstances that I was unable to pick it up within the amount of days allotted for their "holding policy"... So I was informed they RESOLD it, and they REFUSED to give me a refund. So they pocketed $100+ for a free-to-them donated item. I understand that they didn't want to have something sitting around taking up space in the store, but to sell something they already 100% profited on is so incredibly greedy and wrong. I would have preferred to hear that they gave it away to someone who didn't have money to buy it if I was stuck paying for something I didn't even get to take home, instead of making double off of misfortune. This is supposed so be a church based business, clearly that's just a facade. The manager Kelly was incredibly rude from the second she started speaking to me. She was condescending and harsh. She kept talking over me and repeating "this is our policy and I won't change our policy for you." Sometimes things are about principle, not policy. I walked out without the item I purchased, $50 less, and being spoken to like garbage. I wasn't asking for something that wasn't mine, and somehow I was in the wrong. I thrifted and donated to this store regularly, spending AT LEAST $200+ a month. I won't be returning to do either again. Also a fun fact: Rescued Treasures is the sister company to a downtown store named Simply Chic. The items are all donated to Rescued Treasures first, where they comb through the items and pick out the nice things to sell at ridiculous boutique prices at Simply Chic, leaving the leftovers to be sold at Rescued Treasures. Not to mention they finally cleaned RT to where it doesn't smell like urine and organized it like a store should be and decided to consider that enough of a reason to hike up their prices more than they're worth. What a good deed from the caring individuals who take care of their community that are running this place, right? These items are donated. It is a thrift store. Not a curated, vintage or second hand store. Whoever runs both of these stores should be ashamed of themselves. read more

The prices in this store are outrageous. I see things I know are from the dollar store with 3 or 4 dollar price tags. The t- shirts are 5 bucks. I can go to Walmart and get a new one for less then that. Somebody better tell these people what anthrift store is. They carry around walkie talkies like they are the police. The store manager is never out on the floor. The cashier was swamped and when I asked where her manager was, she said she was sitting on the back. People were waitingba long time to cash outband a few ended up walking out. I suggest you find someone new tobrun this store. The store is huge and has an immense variety of items, you are sure to find what you look for or something similar. On some items the prices are great, while some other stuff is a tad overpriced. The biggest issues of this place is that it is always dirty, in some way, the times I've been there there's been weird dirty smells, unexplained liquid (?) On the floor, sometimes trash (wrappers or pieces of food) on the shelves; and there's also a thing with pervy men at that place: my mom and I once noticed a man following us, then on a different occasion my partner was with me and they noticed a man kept trying to get in the small space between me and the shelves, it was very weird. read more

I was in town for a convention and the first thing i do when I get some down time is go find a thrift store and go treasure hunting. Pros The parking lot was large and the parking was easy. The store was well organized by size. They had a huge selection of Christmas items so the inventory was seasonally stocked\ Cons The clothing was not that great. The bric a brac was over priced.The quality was just not there. I know its a thrift store but i am from Oxnard and they have the best thrift stores with great quality items so I guess I am really spoiled. I walked out without a thing. read more

I found so many good items in that time and wish that I could have spent more time in the store. Highly recommend, I will be back. I really like shopping here. So much fun stuff to look at. Apparently, the fitting room closes at 7, even though the store stays open till 9. I was in a bind, and usually don't ask, but did anyway, and was given a flat out no, because it was 7:05. Kinda sad about that. read more

I'm not happy with the remodel. Seems to have way less in the store. I don't know if they're completely done. It looks like they're going to be putting the books up in shelves against the wall. The prices on a lot of items are overpriced. It's a thrift store selling used items for like new prices. I can go to Walmart and buy new at the same price or even less. For example the craft area: I found scrap book paper and the books were half empty. (Used) I don't mind at all but please price accordingly. People go there because they can't afford new. read more

it's a pretty decent thrift store. a few items (specifically the bric a brac) are overpriced. the basket selection is nice and i found a nice skirt and a cute cardigan, plus a pretty frame. it is a bit dirty in there, so i would recommend you clean/wash the items you get. i didn't get to browse around for too long, because it's quite big. read more

For a thrift store that receives items for free, they charge way too much for certain items. A Ziploc bag full of old dirty happy meal toys for $5? No thanks. And the clothing is sometimes priced just as high as a retail store. They really need to rethink their pricing... read more
