Highly recommended pet sitter!…read more We met Katie shortly after we had brought our Yorkie puppy, Chip, home. As experienced pup owners, we knew what qualities we wanted, and didn't want in a pet sitter. We struggled to find someone that we trusted with our "baby" and access to our home. One afternoon, we literally bumped into Katie on the corner near our house, and had a quick conversation! That led to scheduling a meet and greet at our home. Chip immediately fell in love with Katie and we loved how thorough she was with all her questions and follow-up questions! Hubby and I immediately scheduled a date night! When Katie & Chip had their scheduled walk & play time, we got the best video follow-up, with a text letting us know how the visit went. Katie even followed up with us the next day to see how Chip was!! Needless to say, we consider Katie & the Nona Paws crew a part of our family. Super responsive, super responsible, and an indispensable part of having a pet!!

First off, I am very impressed with their digital tools from onboarding/booking through the communication with the customer during their service. I saw it on my friends phone when traveled together and Nona Paws was caring for my friends pets. My friend has now used their service multiple times and feels completely comfortable with how they handle the house visits in her absence. The pricing turned out to be too steep for what we needed (long trip and two hrs/day) but it would have been a great deal if we had multiple pets as their price is per hour.

The staff is so kind and informative. They let you know if there were any concerns with your pets behavior or eating habits. They are super accommodating and allow you to bring your pets favorite toy or treats and even their bed for boarding. They keep detailed notes and ensure they understand what your pets needs are and how to care for them . They even administer meds for your pet. They have surveillance and you can watch you pet play during the day using the odoggy app. You only have access to the cameras at night if your pet is staying in a VIP room. They have treat options like hot dogs and ice cream and grooming options for your pet during their stay. My favorite time is when I pick my pup up and she is so happy to see me and the staff provides a picture and/ or report card of how her stay went. Nice size parking lot and right off the highway for pet parents.., little shop inside for last minute needs, they also have indoor and outdoor areas for the pups and a puppy pool. Prices are going up a few dollars in September but currently a small room is $53 per night.. I believe VIP is $75 per night but is a larger room with a TV and camera access for pet parents. They do have a fees for late pickups and different things so just keep in mind because that can add up quickly. All in all my pups loves this place and sleeps for two days after all the playing she does while here. This will continue to be my go to. Even with the pending price increase, they are right in line with similar boarding facilities in the area

We did need our prescription card in order to purchase it so make sure that you go to the Banfield desk in order to get that. I would recommend taking a picture of the card once you have it so it's handy for future purchases. The employees were friendly and answered all of our questions. We're new to having to get prescription food so we had lots of questions. The costs seem pretty average compared to what you see online for other retailers. They have a little dog potty break area just outside. I was able to walk my dog around the aisles and he enjoyed looking at the fish, gerbils, and birds.

You'll also usually find some adoptable cats here at any given time. The store also has a dog washing station. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure if they specify it's just for dogs or not. I wonder how they'd react if someone brought their mini horse or toddler in for a spritz. Any who... I have found myself shopping here more frequently (I used to get all my stuff online) but supply issues and delayed shipments resulted in my finding it easier just to run down the street and grab what I need here. The staff are always super friendly and if you didn't know, they price match! So if you know you could get a better price online, pull it up and show them.

But this store has a lot of pet products for a variety of animals. On one visit, we were looking for a small inflatable cat collar for one of our cats who kept licking his wound, and we were able to find it and get it on him (NOTE: Inflate it BEFORE you put it on the cat) At the Dog Wash (yeah), you can pay a fee and wash your dog in a corner of the store. It's DIY from what I can tell so be prepared. The don't have a cat wash, probably because of all the bandages they'd need. If you're lucky, they'll have some cool cats and kittens on display which you can adopt (aka purchase) so if you're looking for a furry friend, you can stop in and see. I've only seen cats here so far as far as pets that don't need cages. If you have a pet or need a pet, this clean, well stocked store may be the place to go. There's a Papa Johns next door and an ABC Liquor Store in the next building over if you want to celebrate that new bag of dog food!

We got our sweet girl Winnie from them 4 years ago and I have been waiting to share our…read moreheartbreaking story. Winnie had issues since the day we got her. She was advertised as a "yellow lab and golden retriever mix", but a DNA test told us later that she was more pitbull than anything else. She was sweet and wanted love, but immediately we noticed she was anxious, rough, and neurotic. Despite keeping her on a strict schedule with regular exercise, training, and routines, she was always "wound up" and could not relax. She would pace back and forth, whine and pant, tremble, refuse food, vomit randomly, and soil her bed constantly (despite being well house trained). She was aggressive to our cats and never let them come out of the bedroom. We got a second dog (from a different rescue) who she loved at first, but some time after getting him she began to attack him randomly with no warning. My husband and I were both injured trying to break her off of him. We paid for in-home behavioral trainers to work with her. We got her on psychiatric medications (including trazodone, Prozac, and others). We eventually had to crate-and-rotate the dogs and muzzle train Winnie. It was a miserable existence for everyone. Our vet did multiple evaluations and always determined she was physically healthy. We reached out to Anna with Save a Life multiple times throughout this experience and she was always dismissive and brushed us off. They posted Winnie as a re-home, but of course we never heard anything. We did everything we could to try to find her a pet-free and kid-free home, which we thought could help her. We contacted countless rescues, organizations, and rehoming websites. No rescue would take her. She had 2 potential adopters that we found on websites, but both backed out. Eventually she tried to attack my brother (who she knew and loved since the day we got her) and given that this was her first attempt at attacking a human, we made the devastating decision to choose behavioral euthanasia. We had a wonderful vet who advised us she likely had severe mental and/or neurological disorders and would likely never be able to be a happy dog regardless of her environment. She told us euthanasia was the compassionate choice to make. The process was heartbreaking. After she was gone, my husband who had always felt a special connection with her, cried for months and still cries if we talk about her. We loved her SO much and tried everything we could to try to help her. It was a torturous 4 years with a devastating end that has scarred us deeply. We spent thousands of dollars on training, meds, vets, and equipment, and SO much of our time, love, and care on her. I know we did the right thing, but it was a terrible experience to live through. Please do not adoption from this "rescue". There are so many red flags. My guess is that they likely go around to local shelters and take all the cute puppies they think they can sell easily. Then they have these mass "adoption events" where they pressure people to choose dogs quickly without being able to spend time with them or meet them ahead of time. This way, any illnesses or behavioral issues are not noticed and they walk away with quick, easy cash. Anyone who knows anything about dogs should have seen Winnie's severe behavioral issues before we adopted her. This organization is negligent at best, and at worst shows a complete disregard for the safety of the families they adopt out to and for the dogs themselves. Rest in peace to our sweet Winnie. We will never forget you.
