Well today was an emotional day to put my dog down. my experience in the past with Rockledge animal clinic was always great. NOT this time. the techs couldn't get a cath in for a port. the dog was screaming. So they decided to give him a shot in the rump to calm him down 15 min later they came back in and tried again now in the leg. Couldn't find a vein. dog Still not calm. They went back to the front paw. They missed again not realizing it when they were giving the meds, it wasn't going into the vain but under the skin. The dog was screaming again. (heart breaking) and looking at me like why is this happening. She kept putting the meds in and realized it wasn't working. By this time the dog was so upset. Finally she gets the port right and administers the meds. . I was so upset. This whole process took over an hour and a half. There should have been a better way not to scare the poor dog! its Emotional enough on the family of the dog to have to make this decision. Now add stress on top. Ugh what a horrible experience. I'm angry!-Ozzie and Lisa Ardito read more

My dog was suffering from an ear infection, called for an appointment and was told I had a 2 day wait, unacceptable. Took her to the Emergency Hospital saw the vet and was given meds. Made an appoint at RAC for a follow up and let Dr Corsbie know I was dissatisfied with the front staff, she told me she would have a talk with the owners. Yesterday I noticed Lexi acting strangely and she had peed in the house, thats not her, urine was off color and she was going quite often, so I suspected a UTI, called RAC for an appointment, another 24 hour wait. Back to the Emergency Hospital, as suspected, she had a UTI, I explained to the vet what had happened and was told it was a good thing I brought her in, quite painful. He also stated that if he was her vet he would have fit her in. After researching the internet, it said an animal should be seen by a vet immediately if a UTI is suspected. After explaining what was going on to the person on the phone and telling her I was not going to wait another day and I was taking her to the Emergency hospital, her reply, have a nice day. So, after using RAC for 35 + years, I am done with the excessive appointment ( overbooking) wait time, huge turnover on the front desk, and the ditz, who should have asked the Dr if my dog should have been seen, instead of getting " have a nice day". read more

They are money hungry!!!! You wait a long time in the room!! They didn't apologize for the wait. Didn't give my dog a treat for being good. Would not give me 2 days worth of medication till mine arrived. My dog has congested heart failure bad. My baby had to go 3 days with out medication and suffered with severe coughing!!! They would not renew my dogs medication unless I came in for a checkup, costing me $62.00 and an hour of my time!!!!!! Been going to this vet for 25 years, I guess it is time to change vet!!!!!!! The staff was helpful but the doctor sucks!!!! read more

I've been going to Rockledge animal Clinic for over 17 years. Once it sold 2 years ago, it went down the tube. The front desk is rude and the new owners don't care about their patients. June 13 2020 this happened- We have been going to Gregg Shinn (Rockledge Animal Clinic) for 20 years but I've had 2 emergencies in the past few months, todays being... we need to put Bogey to sleep. It's time, she has cancer. It's the right thing to do. We scheduled the appointment for 9:40 and at 8:50 Tammy, the front desk manager called me and asked if I was coming to my appointment (in a super condescending tone). I explained our appointment was at 9:40 and she said it wasn't. I then explained that this appoint WAS for 9:40 and it wasn't for an annual, we were putting our dog to sleep. It was very important for us to keep that 9:40 appointment, and do what is right for our dog and relieve her pain. She said no and basically hung up on me. I found another vet thru a friend and was able to get my dog taken care of. Dr. Linville and Amanda (the ne owners of RAC) called me in for a meeting to apologize and ask for another chance. Dr. Linville said explicitly to make my appointments with her so that she can insure that I get great care. May 2020- I've tried unsuccessfully to get in twice with her and this last time she flat out refused to see me and my dogs. She obviously didn't mean any of the apology and wasted my time. I don't recommend this vets office. You will be treated like a paycheck. read more

Very pleased with the staff at this clinic as well as their treatment of my pet. I would definitely recommend!

NEVER bring your pet here! They almost killed my cat! He was misdiagnosed as a diabetic and recommended he be put down. I almost killed my baby because of the incompetence of these uneducated excuses for people who call themselves veterinarians. Heartbroken over the idea of putting my sweet boy down, I brought him to another vet's office in a last ditch attempt to save my baby. Turns out he was NOT diabetic - he was misdiagnosed! I was horrified!! Another vet confirmed this as well and put him on proper treatment he should have gotten in the first place! He is fine now and 5 months later, better than ever and STILL not diabetic or he would be dead. So I went back to this vet and rather than making it right, they made excuses and couldn't care less that I almost put my dear cat down for no reason because of their error, not even admitting their mistake!!! The way they handled this situation is both delusional and disgusting. If I could give them zero stars, I would. They are money hungry and do not care about the well being of your pet. If you love your fur baby, do NOT bring them to this clinic. BEWARE!!! read more

This is our vet. We live in Cape Canaveral and have a vet 1/4 mile away. We drive for half an hour through three cities to the mainland instead. Why? Because RockVet (as we call them) is, in our humble opinion, the best vet in Brevard County. They've taken care of our two dogs and three cats through everything from annual shots to lymphoma. The care is wonderful, very professional and reasonably priced. We've had pets all of our married life, and this vet is as good as it gets. read more

Rockledge Animal Clinic is not my normal vet, but I needed to get my cat looked at sooner than my normal vet was able to see him. I was happy they got me in last minute, but quickly regretted it. They gave my cat a medication intended for dogs for an ear infection. I brought him home and when I took him out of the carrier he couldn't walk and his eyes were so dilated! Brought him back and was told it's a side effect from the medication and they'll keep him there for the day (Saturday) and I'll get a call in the afternoon to see if I can pick him up. Well they closed at 11 and I'm under the impression someone would call me since that's what they said. Not one person called me and there's no emergency number or alternate number to call. All I wanted was an update! I dropped him off at 10 and I finally get a call at 6:30. The vet tech called me to let know she's the on call tech assuming I knew he was going to be there for a couple days and his status. I didn't know a thing about him because the vet never called me. I had to drop him off again because he wasn't getting any better and once again no phone call or anything. All this happened on 12/19 and today is 1/2 and he's still having issues. I brought him to my normal vet and they told me the medication they gave him is not for cats and now he might have permanent damage all thanks to the vet at Rockledge Animal Clinic. If you have a cat don't take them here. Communication is horrible and the vet leaves little to be desired. read more

We had a great experience today with Dr. Linville and Nina! We just recently moved to Florida and hadn't yet established our chihuahua mix at a new vet here. I called another vet and they weren't taking any new clients for 2 months! (Not even for more pressing issues!) We couldn't wait that long to address Bella's pink eye symptoms of course. Grateful I found this place! They are doing a great job with COVID protocols. This place is spotless. Bella received excellent, compassionate care. We will be back for her annual check up in a few months! read more

Things were great for awhile.. came back for an annual visit and thought everything was normal. They were pushing for tests that weren't required last year for her annual so I checked with insurance to see that it wasn't covered. They then submitted files to my pet insurance stating that my cat had chronic vomiting - when we had the exam I mentioned occasional hair balls - she is a cat what do you expect? That's exactly how they acted like it was no big deal until they submitted the paperwork to insurance stating that she was there for illness. They now have a permanent record on her file for ANY insurance company stating she has chronic vomiting. They didn't even do anything for it but to tell me to pick up an over the counter gel for her to lick at the pet store. But she has a chronic illness on file now for absolutely nothing and I was denied any of the reimbursements from insurance due to the lack of attentiveness to what was actually going on. I've been over charged for tests she didn't need, got denied my insurance claim for annual covered services, and now my cat is out a vet. Thanks Rockledge Animal Clinic for such the disservice. read more

Very attentive and caring team. Everyone treats my pets as if they were their own part of the family.

I used to bring my cats to thee Cat Doctor on US1. Great doctor but hours were limited. We started using RAC and any betty happy with the care they give my cats. From reception to check out everyone is professional, compassionate and very helpful. The techs are very knowledgeable and I can say enough nice things about the doctors. Recently we helped out an elderly person with little money and we said we would pasty the bill. Begin on a fixed income as well we are also on a tight budget. They really helped us out with the fees. True caring people who work there. I highly recommend RAC. read more

Very caring and competent staff. Cat was relaxed and happy with her visit, even purring during her exam. There is Feliway present that might have helped relax her. Very easy to park close to the front door. It's good that there are separate waiting rooms for cats and dogs. Vet-tech gave us free samples of flea prevention medicine. That's a nice bonus. Office did not have the test kit on hand for what was needed, but they were able to improvise. Upon checking out, another client was chatting up the staff and wouldn't leave, causing others to wait more than 10 minutes. read more

I've had great experiences at the clinic when we brought our cats or our sheltie, but they made it very clear to me that they didn't like my boxer mix (the doctor basically told me he should be put down ... As the nurse was feeding him treats) or, especially, my friends pit bull (who is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet unlike my extremely dog-aggressive sheltie) I also volunteered there for a short time and was very upset by a comment one of the nurses made about about a perfectly behaved Chow Chow being "pretty good for his breed" when being stuck multiple times with an IV needle. I felt very uneasy bringing any breed with a bad reputation there no matter how well behaved my dog was. This is only going to add the problem if pit bulls not being vaccinated! I'll give them a second star for the wonderful way they treated our cats though. read more

Continuing in setting the record straight, On July 24, 2018, on the recommendation of our regular vet, who was practicing there at the time, our kitty had an ultrasound with a needle biopsy. When I returned later that day to pick our kitty up and get the results of the ultrasound, I learned that Dr. Morse was not there that day, and Shinn gave me the news. I was told that 1) Chester had Lymphoma, 2) that there was no treatment for lymphoma and 3) that he only had one to two months to live. He agreed with me that given such a diagnosis, there was no point in having the biopsy sent to the lab. He also told me the tumor was operable, but a difficult surgery to recover from. What compassionate human being would put an animal with so short a life expectancy through that a difficult surgery or chemotherapy? My focus was on quality of life. I later learned that because of the location of the tumor, surgery was not advisable. I eventually found an excellent vet who advised me that it was necessary to know what kind of cancer Chester had before it could be treated. How do you agree there's no point in having sending the sample from the biopsy to the lab, then in the next sentence refer someone to an oncologist and not tell them they'd have to verify the type of cancer? This meant we had to do a second ultrasound and needle aspirate. The cost of the first ultrasound was over $500.00. The cost of the second, which would not have been necessary had I been advised by Shinn that the only way to truly diagnose the type of cancer was to have the tissue obtained in the needle aspirate tested could have been avoided, as could the stress Chester endured having to go through a second ultrasound. The results of the biopsy which was sent to the lab revealed that Chester did not have lymphoma. Gregg Shinn had sentenced our kitty to death with that misdiagnosis. The small bit of hope he offered was to prescribe prednisolone, which he said was kind of like chemo for lymphoma. The prednisolone was in tablet form, and he told me it was fine to crush it up. Several days later, when spoke to Shinn's own office manager about crushing the pills, and asked what I could mix it with to make it palatable, she stated most emphatically that you do not crush those tablets. She did not offer and explanation, but the conflicting information prompted me to do my own research. I learned that crushing those tablets releases all of the medication at once, increasing the risk of side effects. Seems like the doctor prescribing would have known that. Until this, I'd never dealt with a cancer diagnosis, and began with no idea what questions to ask, or how unspeakably irresponsible it was to make an absolute diagnosis without the biopsy results. I discussed my experience with Shinn with the oncologist and shared what I'd been told, lymphoma, no treatment, not long to live, and asked him what he would have done if he didn't have his medical background. That oncologist said he would have made the same decisions I had. Greg Shinn, you can try to make it look like I just refused any help, but that would be a lie. I reviewed you scant notes from that day. You noted that the needle aspirate was declined, but it was not. Sending it to the lab was declined, sadly, because I trusted you. I stated that if he had so little time to live, it seemed inhumane to subject him to medications that would adversely affect the quality of his life. I made my initial decisions based upon the misinformation you provided me. No matter how you try to spin it, that's the truth. It's hard not to wonder how very differently this would have ended had you not been so arrogant. If I'd gotten that test rather than listening to you, because I can assure you, we would have begun chemo much sooner. Sadly, Chester has paid the ultimate price for your arrogance, and is no longer with us. How many beloved furry family members have died because you misdiagnosed them? And worse, how many more will die for that same reason? read more

Worst Staff I have ever had. Had brought our Lab in for possible UTI, our Lab is about 10 yrs old and she does have some fatty masses. When the tech came in to get a urine sample they had placed the bowl under her chest to collect a sample. When I had corrected the tech and said she is going to urinate all over the table, they replied that I did not know what I was talking about. A five year old can tell the difference between a male and female animal. Then after she had urinated all over the table and they had to clean it up and got a sample the Vet had come in wrote a prescription for 1000mg of antibiotics. 1000mg REALLY. Went to another Vet and they had stated that dose was way to high and gave the correct does of 50mg. So glad that I had got a second option. The admin personnel need to be educated and need to pay attention to detail. Have spoke with other people in regards to this so called clinic the administration personnel do not pay attention to detail ie two dogs come in one large dog and one pocket size dog, both dogs are weighed they place the large dogs weight for the small dog and the small dogs weight for the large. The customer tried to get this resolved and the tech looks at her like she is in the movie Idiocracy WOW. This shows how much this clinic really cares and or pays attention to detail. It seems that all this clinic really cares about is $$$$$$ and nothing else. If you want to make sure you pet is taken care of stay away from here. read more
