Well today was an emotional day to put my dog down. my experience in the past with Rockledge animal…read moreclinic was always great. NOT this time. the techs couldn't get a cath in for a port. the dog was screaming. So they decided to give him a shot in the rump to calm him down 15 min later they came back in and tried again now in the leg. Couldn't find a vein. dog Still not calm. They went back to the front paw. They missed again not realizing it when they were giving the meds, it wasn't going into the vain but under the skin. The dog was screaming again. (heart breaking) and looking at me like why is this happening. She kept putting the meds in and realized it wasn't working. By this time the dog was so upset. Finally she gets the port right and administers the meds. . I was so upset. This whole process took over an hour and a half. There should have been a better way not to scare the poor dog! its Emotional enough on the family of the dog to have to make this decision. Now add stress on top. Ugh what a horrible experience. I'd give Dr. Brady and the entire team at Island Animal Hospital in Merritt Island my highest…read morerecommendation. They truly are unmatched. My young, large dog tore his ACL, and we initially had surgery performed at another veterinary clinic on the Space Coast. Unfortunately, the surgery didn't go well, he never fully healed, and just a few months later he tore his other ACL. When we came to Dr. Brady for the second injury, everything changed. Not only did she do an incredible job repairing the newly torn ACL, but she was also able to correct issues from the first surgery. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Brady was compassionate, knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to explain our options and answer our questions. She guided us every step of the way, providing insight that was invaluable during a very stressful time. Most importantly, she gave our dog the chance to run, play, and enjoy life again. The quality of care we received was exceptional, and the pricing was more than fair. We are beyond grateful to Dr. Brady and her amazing staff for everything they did for our family. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my pets. Thank you for giving our boy a second chance.

Can't say enough positive things about Island Animal Hospital and Dr. Brady. She performed TPLO…read moresurgery on our cattle dog mix, and we were so nervous throughout the whole experience, especially because our dog is older (almost 11). The whole team was so patient with all our questions and concerns and the surgery went great. It was a long recovery (3-4 months total) but Hilo healed great. In fact when we recently took him to another vet back in California (5 months post op) the orthopedic vet surgeon was really impressed at the X-rays and how the bone healed and how Dr. Brady got the plate so flat. Apparently post surgical complications can arise if the plate is tilted. Anyway, just wanted to share that our dog was back to his old wild ways of running and jumping and playing with our other dog and we can't thank Dr. Brady and the team at Island enough!

I am a Business owner my self, and I am fully aware that MOST Reviews are BAD Reviews these days and few of them are Honest and Proper. Dr. Smith and His staff , the ER Doctor, Tessitore was incredibly knowledgable, He left no stone unturned, and provided immediate life saving care to our Aussie. Dr. Smith, the internal medicine Specialist properly diagnosed and treated our girl ,and in my opinion, professionally, he has no equal. The supporting staff, Heidi, Aaron and Stephanie were compasionate, competent and loving. Our baby was critical when we arrived, she is home 3 days later with a chance to survive. I would not hesitate to drive here again - a great distance for us, anytime, my pet needs proper life saving care. MY HIGHEST Reccomendation !!!! Our E.R. He messed up both legs so badly that I had to go to a different vet both times. He's obsessed with stem cells and once you get the surgery he then tells you the stem cell success rate is so low. Complete waste of money. The staff couldn't tie bandages properly and my dog lost circulation. They took no ownership of any problems. The quotes they provide are garbage because the next day the rate for X-rays went up triple the price. They said he needed psychical therapy but couldn't provide an estimate. They wouldn't refill a pain killer prescription for my 8lbs dog after 6pm, even though the doctor said a note was in the dogs file. This place is a joke avoid at all cost.
