I have used Larsen to digitize slide photos and burn the files onto discs. The first set was done nearly 8 years ago. Not knowing anything about the company, with my heart in my mouth, I shipped over a 1,000 slides. I was extremely satisfied with the results: family history in pix preserved digitally, with extra copies of the discs made so I could give them to my daughters. I was also very pleased with the quality of the pix in the files, since some of the oldest slides were beginning to deteriorate. Recently, I uncovered some hidden away slides of family pix. The slides were in a very unusual format--127 size--2" X 2". Locally, in San Diego, very expensive cost quotes/slide to digitize and burn files on to discs. I sent them to Larsen. Once again, I am very very pleased with the results. The quality of the digital pix is amazing. And the cost/slide (even factoring in shipping costs both ways) is less than 1/2 of local quotes. Taking into consideration their sample clips, cost for service, and a few phone calls to get more information, we decided to hire Cameron to shoot our wedding ceremony. We discussed what we wanted over the phone and dealt with transactions over the internet... excellent for someone who has a very busy lifestyle! Cameron came early to figure out position and lighting needs (we decided to have an evening ceremony in our garden), he was dress for the occasion and blended with the other guests well. He recorded a few messages from some of our guests and you could hardly tell he was in the background once the ceremony started. Once his job was done, we parted our ways and my groom and I waited anxiously for our video so that we could send it out to friends and family who couldn't make the occasion. A few were so bad you could barely make out what was being filmed because of all the loss, distortion, etc. I thought I just waited too long to transfer them and those memories were pretty much lost. These guys recovered essentially 100% of the images and quality. I can't believe how well they turned out. Go to these guys for media transfer archiving.
