I went into this thrift store looking for old buttons for a craft project. Someone told me they had…read morea huge stash here, and they were right. This store is jam packed with all kinds of things! You'll find clothing, shoes, videos, books, furniture, electronics, housewares, health items, etc. I didn't think the prices were fair on some things that were really junky, but after asking the woman at the register, I found out that items are donated and all of the proceeds go towards the Boys & Girls Club. That wasn't clear at all, and I would not have known that if I wasn't true to my outgoing self and asked the associate about the store. All I found to buy were my overpriced buttons, but I'm happy knowing I supported a good cause.

Stopped at Second Chances Antique Gallery in Warren to see what interesting things I could find…read more From the outside it Second Chances doesn't look like much, but once you get inside it is impressive; there are 3 rooms of a wide variety of stuff. Lots of variety, collectibles, antiques, instruments, toys, and just about anything you could be looking for. Talking to the owner I found out that he had recently bought out the previous owner and was getting things organized and cleaned up. I was impressed with the wooden masks and assorted carvings they had; most were very high quality and vintage. The back room has a wide variety of items, from the usual flea market trinkets to really nice items. I found a really cool walking stick with a hatchet head, it was unpriced and the owner was great about negotiating a fair price. Overall I was very impressed with the variety and selection at Second Chance, well worth the drive. The new owner was very friendly and willing to deal. If you are looking for something vintage or antique go and check them out.

To me, having more of this stuff and less clothing (every thrift store is chock full of clothing and that really doesn't interest me) earns them one more star. On the downside, there are passive-aggressive signs all over the store admonishing customers not to steal, reminding us that the store is essentially a church charity, and telling customers that they never reduce prices, so don't ask. The books are organized by... get this... the color of their covers (!?)

Unfortunately had to cross this Ace hardware off my list. My wife and I are on disability and just…read moremoved to Newton Falls. Went in to buy some things and was told I had to leave my shoulder sling at the register. I explained this was my 'fanny pack' and all my personal things (wallet, keys, cell phone, etc) were in there. Still required me to leave it at register. Told them I wasn't going to do that and left. Now I have to drive 12 miles to Home Depot. I would rather do that than shop at a store like the Newton Falls Ace. Very disappointed!
