If I don't feel like driving one day that I'm only going to be in either neighborhood, I walk down to Frazier Avenue to catch the shuttle. Then I can get to any meeting I have downtown by getting off the shuttle at either the stop by the TN Aquarium, the stop by the Chattanooga library, or the stop by the Chattanooga Choo Choo. It's a free resource for anyone. It's a great way to get to the other side of the bridge for lunch too.

This review is for the part of CARTA service I have used most (a lot, really!) - the free downtown shuttle. It has been in place since 1990, running from the Choo-Choo in the North end of downtown, to just over the bridge that takes you to the North Shore just past the South end of downtown. As this part of Chattanooga has developed and flourished, the shuttle has been a key benefit for tourists, downtowners, every one alike. Since the bus part of CARTA is $1.50 like MARTA one way rides are, taking the shuttle whenever you are going more than you are comfortable walking is an awesome alternative. Main points- the shuttles are clean, the drivers are SUPER nice (and, side note, they remember almost everyone that comes on their routes more than once, call you by name if they know it, and say things to you (me) like "How is your morning going? Better than yesterday, I hope! Did the bank ever open for you?") and the busses - especially the "Choo Choo" bus, which runs from the hotel CARTA parking garage to the Aquarium, where you catch the "North Shore" bus if going over the bridge - run very consistently on a prompt every-three-minutes schedule. A nice bonus? If they see you trying to get to the shuttle stop, they will wait for you - and they will also drop you off just before or after an official stop if it helps you. When you are visiting Chattanooga, I highly recommend you take the shuttle at least once. Oh - and they are super warm, too!

How do I give a 0 rating? I received a Notice of Non-Compliance in the mail for $50 from Parking &…read moreTransportation Compliance Inc (PTC) (the first one ever in my lifetime). I disputed the claim and sent receipts for my paid parking. Apparently, they don't accept payment from Park Mobile app, which I used (the app took my payment). PTC wouldn't even work with me and reduce the ticket knowing what happened. They stated that they can't budge because "they are contracted by a local business." I found out (no thanks to PTC), the company is Republic Parking. So, I called Republic Parking in Chattanooga and, of course, they didn't return any of my messages (I left 2 messages on two different days). If parking in a Republic Parking lot, DO NOT spend a minute past the time you paid for, because you WILL get a ticket from PTC (people have shared this with me after I was telling them about my expierience).

That was our mistake. We will pay the $16 citation. However, we were not aware of the citation until we received a late notice in our mail, saying that we now owed an additional $20 late charge. I called the number on the notice several times. No one will pick up the phone. I finally left a voicemail. Michelle called back and said that the citation they allegedly left on my vehicle should have served as the first notice. We did not see any citations left on our vehicle. I explained everything, but Michelle was rude and did not care to listen. I did not see the point in arguing. So I will not be giving them any more business.
