The staff knows their stuff and since I was starting a new 29 gallon I figured what the hell I'll ask for a seeded piece of old filter media and without question it was done. THIS is what fish stores strive to be. Knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, INSANE selection and the personal touch of fulfilling small requests like providing seeded filter media. I've been in the hobby for 20+ years and I know for a fact that the number one fish killer is a non-cycled tank. While the groom itself looked fine, my dog was cut near his private area and this was not disclosed to me. My dog is very reactive -- there is no way this injury went unnoticed. The groomers requested I bring him in so the vet can take a look at th grooming injury and for me to be eligible for a refund. He was prescribed both a topical and oral antibiotic that he needs to be on for 2 weeks. This was presented as them "making it right," even though the visit was necessary solely due to their mistake. When I requested my refund, I was initially offered only $20 on a $140 grooming bill. After insisting, they agreed to a full refund -- and then immediately removed me as a client, meaning I now must also find a new vet as well. There was no empathy, accountability, or concern shown for my dog's wellbeing. Since the incident, my dog has been uncomfortable, wearing a cone, refusing to use the bathroom, and barely eating. I've had to rearrange my schedule and miss work to care for him. Mistakes happen. But how a business responds to them matters -- and this response was unacceptable.

Called BluePearl and they hinted itd be several hours wait so checked out Affordable Animal Emergency here. Parked on the street and they had us come in right away. They were upfront that its a $159 diagnostic. Turned out it was a UTI for the dog, so $40 antibiotic shot, $30 for antibiotic pills. Then I requested something for the pain, which they gave the dog an injection that would last 18 hours, $80. So it all came out to $300-ish which i was surprised, I thought itd be more for an emergency visit at 2am, complete with diagnostic and treatment. Granted, xrays/ultrasound wasn't conducted but there wasn't need. Our dog is back to her old self after a couple days and we're thankful there's a 24 hour vet in Auburn!

However, after arriving and after they had already performed other procedures, we were informed that they do not actually have an ultrasound machine and only offer X-rays. It felt very misleading because this important information was only disclosed after services had already been provided, making the client responsible for paying for the visit anyway. This wastes people's time, money, and creates unnecessary stress for pet owners in an already emotional situation. Please be honest and transparent with clients about what equipment and services your clinic actually has before scheduling appointments and charging people.

This girl I adopted from the Auburn Valley Humane Society was exactly what my husband and I needed. And I can't say thank you enough to the Humane Society, after my hour meet-and-greet I knew I was adopting right then and the staff shared in my excitement and made it a wonderful experience. I was provided a reasonable sum of money to adopt her and decided to proceed. when I asked what the process would be another employee came in at which time the process was reviewed and I was told the cost would $500 for her (she was a pup)! this was way outside my budget and I certainly would have said yes knowing the outcome of pocket. when my daughter and I mentioned that was not the price quoted we were told that there was nothing they could do. so I left. 1 hour and tears later I turned around and spent money I shouldn't have. "nova" was anticipated to be a small breed (24 pounds or less) wiener mix. Fast forward. "Nova" is now Magnolia/Maggie she is 35-40 pounds and shows every trait of a coon hound. Ending: over paid for a puppy after being quoted a lower price (yes I went back and paid it) that is bigger then I wanted and a breed that doesn't really work in an office due to the whining, howling and need for activity. oh and did I mention that they forgot to send her home with meds for after spay and wanted me to drive back from Yelm to Auburn? nice facility. disorganized. Not willing to follow through in incorrect pricing quotes.
