This was a fun place to take friends to while in downtown Fargo.
There is an ample selection of vintage and modern games, as well as actual vintage (and modern) consoles to play on. I was expecting emulators,and was pleasantly surprised to be wrong.
We played Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart on the Nintendo 64 during our 1 hour time. The controllers were kept in good working condition, which I must applaud. Seating was not great for 4 people - the chairs were too wide to properly fit us all in front of the screen. There was also not a good warning system for how long we had been playing, which is unfortunate since they charge by the hour. I also was disappointed that the games were saved in essentially not-yet-played state, meaning we did not have access to all of the characters in Super Smash Bros, for example.
Lastly: pricing/value. You pay by the hour per person, regardless of whether you play together on the same console or each on different machines. It's clearly an effective way to keep the lights on, but it felt expensive for our specific use case of 4 people only occupying one console/space. There are other options for day passes or bundles or whatever, but we did not intend to stay long enough to extract the value from that. read more
