But wanted to update that a few days ago (7 months later) , I got an email from apple stating activation lock is requesting my password for that old phone. They never gave me my phone back and said they give them to a company to dispose of phone. I did call to ask why I'd be getting this and he just kept telling me there's no way they got the phone on and that's all he can tell me. Told me told call Apple, I just don't know what they'd be able to tell me? He got kind of defensive because I was asking why I would get this email. I was just trying to understand it. I got on iCloud and set to erase if it's ever turned on, just hoping it's enough that they don't get any information off that phone, seems like someone's trying to get into it (even if not turned on). I'd ask to keep old electronics and destroy yourself. Writing this here just so owner knows this happened, especially if the company they are using isn't supposed to be doing anything with these phones besides destroying them.

Arman gave me a price for the repair and said it would be ready in 20 minutes to stop back. About 30 minutes later I stopped back, and he said I'm not going to charge you what I stated as I just cleaned out the charging port instead of installing a new one and it seems to be working fine. He asked me to try my USB cable and it worked fine. He charged 50 bucks less for this repair. So far, I am pleased, and everything is working fine. The gentleman greeted me and told me in two minutes he could take a look and see if it was fixable. He was able to replace the screen and give me a new battery and the phone is working great again.
