The Friday before Christmas, my sister shattered her phone screen in the driveway; they were getting ready to close but they stayed open for her and fixed her phone the same night. Over the weekend I spilled water on my laptop and and killed the motherboard. After a very thorough diagnostic, the gentleman at CPR told me it could not be fixed; I think he was almost as upset as I was I use CPR for all my computer, tablet, and smartphone repair needs. It looks like a brand new phone. I also got a discount for the new screen. Much more convenient option (in my experience) than filing an insurance claim. The deductible cost for the insurance + monthly insurance fees probably would have been about the same amount of money (or higher) and it probably would have taken more time to get a new phone through insurance.

I dropped off the phone and went to a nearby appointment. Because the phone was ready early I needed to have a family member pick it up. I hopped on a flight a few hours later and low and behold my screen stopped working! The screen would turn bright green and purple. I tried to restart the phone more than several times. Nothing worked. The screen would black out for days at a time so here I am outside the country with a phone that doesn't work. As soon as my plane landed I headed to the shop to find a different gentleman there. He told me I needed to come another day to see the guy that fixed the phone initially. I do not live in town and asked if there was any way the guy could fix it today. He got on the phone with me and told me to wait at the shop and he'll come today. I asked for a time frame since I don't live here. He asked me to give the phone back to the other guy. When he hung up the phone he said he isn't coming today. Completely unprofessional. The guy straight up lied to me on the phone. As of right now my phone is still not fixed. I would've preferred my cracked screen over this. I'm glad I did since the problem was elusive and I would have been staggeringly frustrated in my efforts to track it down. I offloaded that concern onto Steve and he was able to hammer out a solution in good time. I was able to keep contact with him and he answered my questions as well as didn't mind that I asked him for updates now and again. It ended up being a relatively painless experience for me since Steve had to deal with the headaches of dealing with a proprietary system and try to dig up old parts. But I got my machine back with all the gear I wanted transferred into a new case and it was like it never left. Very happy with the service I was given.
