Hi. I originally wrote a review over two and a half years ago. I feel like that review did no justice to how amazing this academy is. I started training under Kevin Landry in January of 2015. This is not a gym where you walk in and no one knows you. This is a professional and family oriented self defense academy that teaches you Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It teaches you to become comfortable in uncomfortable situations. About BJJ: BJJ sharpens your mental and physical well being and focus. It's a way to unwind after a long work day while getting into shape. It teaches your children on how to handle and deal with bullies. It teaches them how to defend themselves. Jiu Jitsu has also been used to help with military and first responders deal with PTSD. The Academies: The academy is spotless and cleaned several times a day with state of the art scrubbing machines that disinfect and sanitize the mat space and floors. With several bathrooms and changing rooms. Each academy also has a pro punching bag system for kickboxing. The mats are designed by Fuji to ensure safety while rolling. It's a safe environment to learn and grow as a person while having fun. They offer several programs including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for children and adults, along with Thai Kickboxing. They offer a large variety of class times at both locations, Salem and Exeter. Exeter also provides showers and laundry services. With the Salem academy moving right down the street into Windham this September. The Windham location will provide the safe learning environment you deserve while offering a larger learning area and ample parking. Showers and laundry service will be available to offer a helping hand with a busy schedule. If your wondering if it's a good workout, with help from teammates and clean eating I've lost over 110 pounds so far. I hope this describes the place I call my home away from home. A few months ago I started BJJ training here with Professor Kevin Landry. I soon quickly realized I knew nothing of self defense, even after a year of Krav Maga. I found that Professor Landry and the entire team are all class acts. Renzo Gracie NH is an amazing academy to learn in. Both the Salem NH and Exeter NH ones are awesome. This is an academy not a gym, you don't walk in, do your work out and go home. You make friends, socialize and grow to be a part of a family. We learn Jiu-Jitsu, and the big fear I had was going home with black eyes, which I haven't seen happen to myself, nor anyone else.I have not once felt unsafe while rolling. The facilities are cleaned twice daily and the mats are always disinfected with the best solution on the market. I love rolling, and learning self-defense. What I really can't wait for is my daughter who is 18 months to be old enough to put a gi on and see her roll with the kids. It is a relaxed and fun atmosphere to learn in and everyone is very friendly. It truly is a place where strangers become family. Everyone and I mean every.. single... person takes the time to introduce themselves to you. After my first class I felt like I was in a wedding reception line because I was greeted by so many people. They offer Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA classes, Power Fitness and children classes. I can not recommend this place enough. If your thinking about maybe joining take that step. Worried about being to big or small, don't. Come, train and learn with the most knowledgeable, well trained Professor and students in the area. The biggest step is that first one thru the door. And if you see a big, awkward geeky guy with a beard come say hello to me. They did start AM classes, so check the website out or call them for a free intro class. This is one of the first reviews I've posted publicly about anything, but felt compelled to do so for Professor Kevin and the Renzo Gracie NH family for a few reasons. First and most importantly, this has had such an amazing impact on my 6 year old. My son has always been a good kid and started his first year in Kindergarten pretty well... but he is still a 6 year old getting into "6 year old trouble". After we signed him up for Jiu Jitsu and I witnessed his first few sessions, I was blown away with how fun and fair, but also firm Coach Chris and the other coaches were. I firmly believe it's important that my children learn discipline not only inside the home, but outside as well. Renzo Gracie has taught my son to listen, to work with others, and to improve both himself and those around him. Since signing up in November 2023, we have seen my son's behavior at school go from good to consistency GREAT. I believe that Renzo Gracie has played a role in him being his best self wherever he goes. As a male in his mid-30s and someone who has stayed away from community based sports for years, the infectious nature of these locations gave me the itch to push myself out of my comfort zone and give it a shot. 5 months in and it's legitimately the best thing I've done for myself in the past 5 years. This place feels like a family where everyone, regardless of skill or tenure, only wants to see you get better. As a result, I feel better and better about myself and what I've learned every time I leave the facility. Freakin' love this place. read more

I enrolled myself at Renzo Gracie NH's Windham, NH location four months ago. Kevin Landry, along with his team of instructors, effectively communicate practical self-defense techniques in a positive, ultra-clean, family-friendly environment. My investment of both time and money is paying dividends - I am getting into the best physical shape of my life and pushing myself mentally with the encouragement of their fine staff. I also enrolled my 5 year old son in the Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program. Not only has his confidence escalated, but I am certain that, despite his young age, he has retained values, skills, and techniques that will invaluable to him both near and long-term. Be careful of this owner. Once he has your billing info. you can not get away from him for months on end. Many feel the same way but have not written on these reviews. It should tell you something about the owner Kevin Landry that he is a convicted felon for theft by deception back in 1996 and was appealed in June of 2001. He lost the appeal and it stood as conviction of theft by deception. You might say why would a person put this online, the reason is simple if you lied and were convicted on theft by deception it shows that getting a persons credit card and not cancelling shows the persons character has not changed. Words can not explain my feelings towards this academy, just walking in the academy Professor Landry, the other instructors and the students all make you feel welcomed!! Professor Landry and the other instructors are amazing! My son and I train at this academy, my son has only taken a few classes since we switched from another and I already see a difference in his progress. This academy is filled with great people. Professor Landry and the other instructors want you to learn and spend a lot of time helping the students with their journey through jiu jitsu. this place is a scam. they have it so you need 30 days to cancel after cancellation so you no matter what are paying over 450 to even start there and they don't tell you this information. I went to one class, didn't feel comfortabl, cancelled AGAIN NOTHING WAS SAID ABOUT THEIR SCAM CONTRACT. I went to help my depression after losing my dad and now I'm struggling financially after this money hungry place stole my money. read more

Don't believe the hype. This head imstructor is a convicted felon of theft by deception in a NH court that was appealed and denied. He has three fingers on ome hand, blames it on a chaimsaw accident but as you can see this is a lie supported by a conviction in a court of law not hear say. I visited from Folsom, CA a few weeks ago, dropped in for some training a few times + open mat; this gym is great. Kevin showed valuable technique, everyone I met was welcoming and gave good tips. Would definitely train here if I lived in Salem! I will drop by again when I visit next. read more
