The owner of my property was dissatisfied with their "service" and so was I as the tenant. Let me explain. I spent 8 years in a condo managed by this company (formally Management One group), and overall the experience was pretty poor. In 8 years I had approximately 6-7 property managers. I had more poor experiences than good ones with the managers over all. One issue was that my unit had mold damage from a slow leak and it took 48 days before mold remediation was done. Although this may not be solely the property managers fault, I believe they were partially responsible for the delay. For the most part I needed to call for updates as to what was going on, and not them updating me. Another issue I had was sediment and rocks built up in the water heater effecting water pressure out of every pipe from the shower to the washer. They sent someone out in a timely manner, however, the plumber reported that the water heater should be replaced because it was years past the date it should be removed. They didn't replace it, because I imagine they didn't care enough to communicate this to the owner. Due to this, there was an issue years later. One morning a plumber from the downstairs unit came to tell me that there was a leak in the unit below me causing extensive damage. I let him come in to see if he could find the source of the issue. We discovered not only was the water heater 12 years old (5 years past the date it should be removed), but it also was not up to code either. When I reported the issue to the property manager at that time, Tamera, became irritable and snippy with me on the phone, asking me why I would allow anyone to look at the water heater. Um, hello, the neighbor has a flood, or a leak or something going on coming from my unit. I found out that serious mold was occurring downstairs, causing the owner a tremendous amount of money I'm sure. When my water heater was replaced, I asked if the drywall would be replaced. It was not, and guess what?... I then TOO HAD MOLD growing in my closet. At this point I wasn't sure whether or not to stay living in a poorly managed place or move. What made my mind up to leave was when I tried to renew my lease. The manager told me that rent in my place was normally 3-400 more than what I was paying. She seemed matter of a fact, and not willing to work with me. I don't think she cared about what the owner or I wanted. Later I found out that the place rented to another tenant for only 50 more than I was paying which leads me to conclude that had the manager tried to work for the owner and myself we could have made an arrangement that worked for both parties. The last complaint is the primary motivation of leaving a review. My lease end date was on a Sunday. I was told I could return the keys through the door of the office. I took photos of this, because I did not trust this company at this point. When I got my deposit refund I discovered Rent Vest charged me 3 additional days of rent deducted from the check. When I spoke with them about this, they said I would have to resolve it with the new company managing the property. It was Rent Vests mistake, so I believe it was their responsibility to communicate their mistake to the owner or new property manager to rectify the situation but they refused. If you're a potential tenant, I would go to a reputable management company to rent from, and if you're a property owner I can say that you are more likely to have a higher turn over rate of tenants costing you money out of your pocket if you go with these guys. They don't seem to hire many qualified property managers. When tenants feel dissatisfied by poor service, they move. When they move every year that costs the owners more money. read more

This is one of the best values in town for managing properties! We have two rentals with them and they charge the same flat rate for both. One our larger rental we are probably saving almost $200 per month over paying elsewhere. Celeste Robertson is our assigned property manager and she is THE BEST. Timely communication, no surprises and best of all we literally do nothing except pay for the repairs and get a rent check each month. She has handled everything and makes it look easy (which we know it is not since we managed ourselves a few years). The rental fee we pay each month in total is less than one nice dinner out. And the piece of mind Celeste gives us is sooooooo nice! read more

If you already rent from RentVest, be careful before you ask about renewing. If you inquire but then decide not to renew, they continually send you emails with the documents to sign, even after you vacate. I was told they cannot control their own computer system. CANNOT control their own systems, think twice before you decide to work with RentVest. read more

This is a review from an actual renter. We moved into a property in 11/2016 and had to move this month as the owner is selling the property. During our time at the property we had a couple of issues. We contacted our Property Manager Janey who responded promptly and the issues were fixed very quickly. Their landscape vendor Gensis is very good. We hated to have to move as we loved the place. However once we got over the shock, we worked with Janey to find another home and get moved out within 30 days. Janey is AWESOME in every way and Rentvest is a great property management company to work with. A+ in professionalism and sercice. read more

I have rented from this property management company for at least 5 years. I have had my ups and downs, however, I have never seen such a hardworking individual such as Janey Rood. The property I rent is an older property so of course things are bound to happend and go wrong but when they do all I have to do is shoot Janey and email and I get a response within 5 min, 10min tops. She is absolutely amazing! She cares about her tenants well being and she make sure maintenance requests get done in a timely manner. The rental process was easy. Everyone in the office was very friendly. I do however wish that they gave the standard grace period for paying rent, im not accustomed to paying late however, life happens and once in a while your payday may not be before the 1st. If you get paid on Friday and your rent is due on Thursday they do not even give a 1 day grace period they immediately add $75.00 and then a charge daily after that. Most companies give 3 to 5 days to allow for this..Boooo very harsh, not cool. Read your lease ! read more

Rent Vest, HORRIBLE Property management group!!! Review from an actual renter. NW gated community. From day 1 ( Sept 2016 ) this rental home has been nothing but issues. They lost the keys from the start, my wife, me and our infant daughter had to wait over an hour in the garage for a key. Front door lock broke and had to be re keyed ( took a week ). Master bathroom shower door fell off and almost killed my wife and daughter ( leaving a cut in the wall, took weeks to fix ), kitchen cabinet, ( took weeks to fix ),leaking garbage disposal, garbage disposal went out ( took weeks and replaced with cheap quality disposal ) pre existing roof leak ( tried to cover it up inside with heavy drywall tape, mud and paint. Took 3 months to get roof repaired and they only did half the roof. Roofers left nails all over the ground, kids couldn't play out back till it was cleaned up. Multiple A/C unit problems to include the breaker burning up, ( last issue with the mother board took 2 weeks to fix during August summer weather. water pressure issues because of routine maintenance in the house missed. garage door issues, still not fixed. Also their tenant portal computer program screwed up and I ended up getting charged $100 for its mistake. Every delay they blamed on the out of country owner. Owner did stop by once, nice guy and easy to get a hold of. Lease expired and they offered me a renewal or month to month at a 10% increase. I chose month to month so we can buy a house and explained that to Lisa Wood at Rent Vest. Rent Vest sent us a 30 day no cause vacate notice instead of honoring the month to month option. Now have to fight them in court or go rent elsewhere. Either way it pushes us buying a house back a couple of months now. If I could give negative stars I would. read more

In fact, I moved out of a property that I really liked solely to never have to deal with them again. I was harassed and charged for absurd, even fake, reasons. I went to tour a property that is managed by this company, 7086 Sawtooth Drive, and I was in love with the property, of course with several flaws. However, since I toured it with no realtor there, I wasn't able to ask face-to-face questions, so I called the phone number that was given to me through email. The Receptionist didn't sound customer-friendly, and I didn't understand her first couple of sentences. When I was finally able to speak to the property manager of Sawtooth, which was a woman named Janey, I was greeted with a sour tone. I had a few questions with her about the repairs that the house would require, including a cardboard door that was completely broken off of the house. When I asked about these details, she answered with a condescending voice and treated me like my questions were stupid. She said "well yeah these repairs are going to be done". There were other details I wanted to address, but she didn't make me feel welcome to talk more because I felt belittled. I was very excited about this property, but after dealing with her just for a 5 minute phone conversation, I am definitely not considering renting it and will steer clear of properties managed by companies with poor customer service. read more
