In 1975 I did an English term paper on him so I've been a fan for a long time. It is very nicely done and the up keep was great. You can see it when you enter. It was like a hallowed place for me and suggest checking it out if you are a fan and in the area.

I guess I was a bit too young to understand and know about the popular bands in the 60's & 70's, but I have heard this name - "Jimi Hendrix" many times, and especially about his performance of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock in 1969. As I got older, luckily there's YouTube, and it's just like I was able to go back in time as I got to watch, and see Jimi Hendrix in action. One of my personal favorite performances I saw of Jimi is this performance of Voodoo Child, check out this link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFfnlYbFEiE I also dug this song - All Along The Watchtower https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVLqFQ5QT7Y If you're a music buff, visiting Jimi Hendrix is a must if you're ever in Renton, WA.. The mausoleum where Jimi Hendrix is buried is definitely a sight to see! The Jimi Hendrix memorial features an array of murals & his quotes, as well as a Fender Stratocaster guitar which was his preferred guitar of choice. Gone too soon at a young age of 27, he will be forever remembered by his rare musical talent, and he was one of the greatest guitarist in the 20th century.

We timed it for a half-hour prior to sunset and wish we'd made it an hour before since it was a wait at times to capture photos due to so many people. The views were incredible and very enjoyable to walk the entire outer deck perimeter and then go inside to the lounge. The interior space was exciting to see clear glass floors with views of the gears working to rotate the outer lounge. It was a disconcerting feeling to walk on the glass, but definitely a memorable experience. We easily wandered around the observatory for at least an hour. Would have liked to maybe grab a drink and sat for a while, but it was fairly crowded. There is also a restaurant space if visitors want a dining experience with a fantastic view.

I (unfortunately) paid $24 for parking right in the Columbia Center although there is street parking and other lots near/around Columbia Center. When I came around 4:30pm on a weekday, the building was dead - the food court was all closed. After scanning your ticket, you get in the elevator that takes you to the 73rd floor. Everything is indoors and you get a 360 view of the PNW. It's great if you're able to catch the sunset on a cloud free day. If you get the cafe voucher, you can combine them together to spend on food, drinks, or souvenirs. The space is a little dated but the views are worth it. Overall, a better option for PNW views than the Space Needle however there's no outdoor area.

My friend and I visited on a Friday around 2 PM, and there were a few spots open, so getting in was really easy. I loved how simple everything was to navigate, there's even a map available when you enter. Entry and parking are both completely free, which is a huge plus. We walked along the trail and I'd recommend spending about 2-3 hours here if you want to take your time and fully enjoy it. We had to speed-run our visit because we had another errand afterward, but it was still incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend stopping by the bridge, it was very therapeutic and relaxing to walk across. There are plenty of benches and seating areas along the way, perfect for taking breaks or just soaking in nature. The quality of the space is amazing, with a wide variety of rocks, trees, and scenery that make the whole experience feel peaceful. There are also bathrooms located at the front, and you're never too far from other people, which made it feel comfortable and safe. Overall, I definitely recommend stopping by this place.
