Our washing machine has been broken since July 12th. It is now August 29th. That is not a timely manner. It is still not fixed. This is an update to my previous review. Concerning these reviews: They range from California to New Jersey to Florida, and leases and service may vary by state. Some reviews were written by landlords who are happy that their property was rented. Even so the overall rating is a dismal 2.4 stars. The first thing that you should be aware of is that Renters Warehouse is an inexpensive franchise. The second is that realtors who shows you the apartment is not employed by RW, but gets a fee for finding a renter. I moved out of the house that I was renting a full 3 months before the end of my lease. The place was THAT BAD! I had given them a move out date and then changed it, for which they charged me a $250 fee. I didn't pay it so they took in out of my security deposit along with other BS fees. When I moved in there were curtains on every window. They weren't on normal curtain rods, but were on metal pipes fastened to the walls. They were old and dusty and I could not take them down to launder them. They were also about two feet too long with the excess trailing on the floor, making it difficult to sweep & vacuum. I trimmed and hemmed them all, and my security deposit was charged $174 to "replace" them. The shelf liner that I used to cover the disgusting kitchen counters (as described in my first review) was supposedly removed and $90 was charged to my security deposit. According to the lease the tenant is required to maintain the landscaping. It was not done to their standards, thus accruing an addition $180 charge to my security deposit. In all less than 40% of my security deposit was returned. No wonder they got good reviews from the landlords! Everything that was traditionally considered overhead is now according to their lease the responsibility of the renter and used as an excuse to withhold money from the security deposit. read more

Absolutely the worst. When you submit a MELD, which is what they call their maintenance requests, they act like they are going to fix it. Several times we have had service men come to our rental, assess the situation, and then radio silence happens. Most recently they sent a maintenance man to our home to assess an issue and then proceeded to say they needed more information from us. We constantly feel like we get the run around and their communication sucks. Thankfully for us the owners reached out to us via a neighbor and we can go directly to him. The owner of this property feels the same way that we do about Renters Warehouse. They charge a lot, but are very inconsistent and their communication sucks! If you are looking to use renters warehouse to rent properties or you are a renter looking for property I encourage you STRONGLY not to have any business with Renters Warehouse! read more

So I found a beautiful appartment last week . Was so excited to move in. This appartment is ran by Renters Warehouse Des Moines, Ia. I signed the lease Friday. I payed 700 rent 700 deposit 250 pet deposit and then some fees. This is a large sum of money if your a 19 year old trying to do big things. As I was taking my first load of stuff into the building a neighbor approached me. He made it clear that there is a mice problem. Stated that he has caught nine himself. So I started looking around in corners and stuff for proof of this. Instead I found cock roaches. I moved the fridge and was absolutely disgusted. I contacted the leasing agent that night and was ignored. I had to message his again and he simply said he put a work order in. After that message I was floored to return to the apartment after dark and realized this was a very serious ongoing issue and the extent of which I didn't realize, after sending videos/pictures for proof I continued to be ignored. After I saw all of this filth I bleached all my kitchen stuff and took it out immediately. (All I brought in the house was one car load ) the office was closed over the weekend and their 24/7 line didn't answer. Finally I reached renters ware house as of yesterday. I made it clear that I'm not taking possession of this property and I would like a refund. They are saying I'm voiding my lease because they are going to go spray and that a refund won't happen. In my lease it says that they are responsible for maintaining habitable living situations. In my opinion cockroach infestation is not habitable for me or my dog! This problem is not a problem that can be solved in a spraying. It's is a multi unit house with vents leading to all the other apartments . I have nothing on the property at all and have not returned. I can not live with bugs and I am baffled they are acting like this normal. I am on a short time period on finding a living situation due to lease being up. Has anyone else ever been in this situation. ? I'm taking the legal steps necessary to get this figured out. I would just like to show anyone in the area looking for a place to live that this is not the place to contact for a clean, attentive, and respectful landlord. read more

If I could give a no star rating I would. They are the most disorganized, non-communicative and disrespectful. I suggest to not rent from Renters Warehouse as it has been the worst experience I've ever been through with a rental company. They have zero respect for their tenants time and money. Not to mention their customer service is at a zero for me. They throw on charges to your account and then won't answer what they are for or even get back to you. This organization is very unorganized and awful with any type of communication until the last minute. They try to guilt you into doing leases longer than needed. We have lived in one of their rental houses for a year now and the only time they have contacted or asked about anything. Was when we were about to terminate the lease and they contacted us through multiple people even though we had already sent in our notice to end it. The property we were at was decent but that was only due to the true owner not renters warehouse. Will not be using them again. read more
